Added by kheidtmann, 14 Jul 2019 This collection was Fischer’s last keyboard publication and its nine Suites bear the names of the nine Muses. The suites represent a fusion of German and French styles. Euterpe (rejoicing well, delight) was presiding over music. She was named muse of lyric poetry and called “Giver of delight” by ancient poets. She inspired the development of liberal and fine arts in Ancient Greece, serving as an inspiration to artists.
