Robert Schumann (1810 - 1856) was a famous German
composer of the romantic period. In 1851 he composed
“Märchenbilder op. 113” (Fairy-tale pictures) for
viola or violin and piano, using a poem by the poet
Louis du Rieux. Here we present an arrangement for
basset horn, substituting the viola. Because the
original viola part cannot be played unchanged on the
basset horn, we have prepared a low and a high version
for movements III and IV, that can be used
