| Added by paul-page, 27 Jan 2020 These Cantabile Sacra pieces all derive their seminal idea from a scriptural passage or other weighty pronouncement, poem, saying, etc. This one came from a quick thought this morning about one of my favorite “scenes” in the New Testament. Here’s the quoted passage: “When it was late that same day…Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, ‘Peace be with you…' And they rejoiced at the sight of him.” (John 20:19-22) I don’t know why I had this on my mind today. I just pictured that event in a solemn and gentle way, Jesus going around the room to each of those present, looking them in the eye, holding them briefly. Remarkable.
