Added by magataganm, 11 Jan 2018 This chorale survives by way of the Dietel collection and can be found in both D–B Am.B 46/II and the Penzel collection as well. This setting was assigned a BWV number in 1998. Of some interest to this work is the discovery by Michael Maul (Bach-Archiv, Leipzig) of an account of a funeral in Leipzig which makes specific reference to a chorale harmonised by Bach, namely BWV 1122, Denket doch, ihr Menschenkinder". It's one of a small group of chorale settings whose attribution was doubted but is now certain Source: Bach Cantatas (http://www.bach-cantatas.com/Topics/Number-Cantatas-2. htm). Although originally written for Chorus (SATB), I created this Arrangement of the Chorale "Denket doch, ihr Menschenkinder" (And think now, ye children of men) BWV 1122 for Pipe Organ (2 Manuals w/Pedals). Sheet central : | Denket doch, Ihr Menschenkinder (2 sheet music) | |
