Added by alf, 23 Jun 2019 Playing around with the double harmonic tonalities (also called Byzantine scale or Oriental scale) I tried to go back to a piece of music that most likely would have used that scale in its original form, the Fandango. The Byzantine scale sounds exotic to us despite using the same tones as our occidental scales. The location of the half tones makes all the difference. |
