Added by welligtonsousa, 09 Nov 2018 Ave Maria (Ellens Gesang III, D839, Op. 52 No. 6), composed in 1825 by Franz Schubert. The piece was composed as part of a song from Walter Scott's epic poem "The Lady of the Lake", in a German translation by Adam Storck (1780-1822), and thus forms part of Schubert's song cycle for The Lady of the Lake, "Fräulein vom See". The arrangement is by Welligton Sousa, for Symphony Orchestra in B-flat, the original key. The arranger chose to write the orchestra arrangement in the original key of B-flat, considering it to be the best adaptation as it can be sung by a voice, allowing the singer to rehearse individually with a piano. Additionally, there was a rhythmic adaptation, replacing sixteenth notes with eighth notes in a 6/8 time signature, which will facilitate reading for the musicians.
