and G7, but I found these really crunchy chords in a
Jonny May video: Blues Groove. I spun a blues scale

Nice one. ↪ I didn't think it was playable, with that bass note out of reach. Thanks for the nice remarks. ↪ The whole piece has a set-up rhythmically, melodically, harmonically so that that low bass note just functions as a foothold for the ensuing music that cooks above it. Within the framework you have written are so many opportunities to extemporize even beyond your original. I think that is kind of the nature of this sort of composition. You’ve given the performer a chance to walk or to fly…And THAT is the real gift with this little number. I say, “Bravo!” ↪ It is delight for improvisation there are almost no bad notes with these complex chords. I stuck with C-blues and C-major-blues scales, but suspect a lot of other notes would work. |
