Added by cdavis64davis, 03 Feb 2020 I hoped to capture the glitter and fatalism of The Great Gatsby with a rag in a minor key. Though ragtime was yesterday's music at that time, it seems to fit well now. This is akin to the decision to use Scott Joplin's work in the movie "The Sting," a decision that launched a major ragtime revival. |
![]() | This piece is NOT awkward, but it does capture the awkwardness that Gatsby feels as he is waiting for Daisy to come over to his place the first time. You have a definite knack for capturing moods. (Just wondering if the performances of your pieces are human or computer generated. There don?t seem to be any dynamic variations and the tempi are static throughout. I don?t mean this as a criticism, since your realizations of the score give a good I,press ion just as they are...and the scores themselves are very easy to read and certainly open to personal interpretation.) I am thoroughly enjoying your pieces. ? cdavis64davis ![]() ![]() ↪ The piano is generated by Finale. I can't play it. If and when I can get someone else to, I'll replace the audio. Thanks for your encouragement. |
