Added by cdavis64davis, 05 Jun 2020 A "Brazilian Tango," a form so named by Brazilian composer Ernesto Nazareth, who created and dominated the genre around a hundred or so years ago. Of course, the music is way too up tempo and cheerful for any serious tango dancers, but it is a lot of fun to listen to. There is a marvelous collection of Narareth on this site in case your mood needs s further boost. |
Brasleira moves along at a quick pace, but, seriously, it fits in the hands really smoothly. I like the simple 2-part statement on p. 1 and the embellishment on p. 2 is the perfect next step in ramping the number up. At 33ff the inner workings of this piece take on such a nice contrast?and, of course, your recap just nails it. Bravo. A really pleasant, satisfying, and well-written composition. |
