Added by matthew-bennett, 13 Mar 2018 The Pifa, commonly referred to as the Pastoral Symphony is the thirteenth movement and the second of two instrumental interludes during the Messiah. The name comes from shepherd pipers who would play in the streets of Rome around Christmas time. It is written for two violins and a cello, however, Handel instructs that the violists should play the second violin part down the octave. Sheet central : | Messiah (191 sheet music) | |
