Dopo la sua formazione a Venezia, si trasferì a Bonn. Dopo la morte del precedente maestro di cappella Ludwig van Beethoven, nonno omonimo di Beethoven, Andrea Luchesi prese questa carica il 27 maggio 1774, diventando Maestro di Cappella della Corte del Principe elettore del Sacro Romano Impero a Bonn. Ultimamente si è molto discusso su di lui. Qualcuno ha sostenuto addirittura che alcune sinfonie di Haydn e di Mozart siano state in realtà scritte da Luchesi. Di sicuro si sa che il giovanissimo L. van Beethoven suonava nell’orchestra diretta dal maestro italiano e questo induce alcuni studiosi ad affermare che il musicista veneto andrebbe annoverato tra i suoi maestri. Non entriamo tuttavia in inutili polemiche. Questo Andante in puro stile galante, di una cantabilità davvero squisita, è il secondo movimento del Concerto per Cembalo ed archi in Fa maggiore. La scrittura per il cembalo è molto gradevole e non particolarmente difficile. Andrea Luca Lucchesi, or Luchesi (Motta di Livenza, 23 May 1741 - Bonn, 21 March 1801), was an Italian composer and organist. After his education in Venice, he moved to Bonn. After the death of the previous Kapellmeister Ludwig van Beethoven, Beethoven's namesake grandfather, Andrea Luchesi took up this position on May 27, 1774, becoming Kapellmeister of the Court of the Prince-Elector of the Holy Roman Empire in Bonn. There has been a lot of discussion about him lately. Someone even claimed that some symphonies by Haydn and Mozart were actually written by Luchesi. It is certainly known that the very young L. van Beethoven played in the orchestra directed by the Italian master and this leads some scholars to affirm that the Venetian musician should be counted among his teachers. However, let us not enter into useless controversies. This Andante in pure gallant style, of a truly exquisite singability, is the second movement of the Concerto for harpsichord and strings in F major. The writing for the harpsichord is very pleasant and not particularly difficult. | |||
