It consists of seven variations of a theme from E.Storch, being the chorus of a German song from 1936. It has been famous by the interpretation of Vera Lynn. The variations are written in the style of various composers, namely Mozart, Beethoven, De Falla, Monteverdi, Gershwin, Milhaud and last but not least J.S.Bach. Have fun, Dick van der Stoep. "Auf Wiedersehn" ("Goodbye") pour quatuor à cordes était une fois conçu comme un encore. Il se compose de sept variations d'un thème de E.Storch, étant le refrain d'une chanson allemande de 1936. Il a été célèbre par l'interprétation de Vera Lynn.
