Several of the eight selections are free-form and improvisational, revealing some of Liz Story’s influence on his music. Some of Isadar’s earlier recordings have very dark, moody sections, but this one stays fairly upbeat and optimistic without being ear candy. The music is complex enough to sink your teeth into, and yet is accessible enough to enjoy as a backdrop to a quiet dinner or an evening with a good book. Joyful Running begins the journey with an exuberant and uplifting piece that reminds me a little of some of Spencer Brewer’s bouncier compositions. Fountain of Life is a beautiful piece with a water-like flow that never stops in its 10 1/2 minutes. I listened to this CD several times without realizing that this song was that long. It flows and meanders so effortlessly that it seemed no longer than the other seven selections, most of which are between four and five minutes in length. Unstructured and free, this is one of my favorite tracks. I also really like the title track, which is even more abstract and unstructured. The tone is of searching and moving forward. End of the Line is my favorite on this album. Very introspective and contemplative, this seems to be a very personal piece. It is the most somber track, but one still senses hope despite the ending of something dear and important. Or maybe it’s simply the end of the journey and the dread of returning to real life - I feel this way on the last day of my vacations! It is a wonderful and moving closing to an excellent album. The companion songbook is expertly transcribed and engraved by David Shenton of New York Music Publishing. The layout of the music is clear and uncluttered, and the notation includes pedal markings and dynamics that allow the pianist to express the music as closely as possible to how Isadar played it on the recording. A few of the pieces are quite long and require a more advanced pianist who is able to express the nuances that keep the recording so interesting, but several of the pieces are well within the capabilities of upper intermediate players. Some of the rhythms are a little bit tricky, but the majority of the left hand parts are running eighth notes, which make it easier. None of the key signatures are difficult, and none of the chords have a reach of more than an octave, making this music very playable for smaller hands. My favorite pieces to play in this book are Joyful Running, Voice of God (Thanksgiving), Smoke Signals, and End of the Line. Isadar is an artist on both Enlightened Piano Radio & Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, the latter featuring some of today's biggest names in solo piano music, including Ludovico Einaudi, David Nevue, Brian Crain, Kevin Kern, Robin Spielberg, Michele McLaughlin, Philip Wesley and over 300 more... At the Plaza A Holiday in Naples is a five-movement programmatic work for solo piano composed in 2021 by Andrei Hadap. Composed in the late nineteenth century style, it depicts a lone traveller, on holiday, who explores the city of Naples in the same period. Each movement is a short scene that narrates the traveller’s experience during his visit through music. The first movement, At the Carnival, in sonata form, begins with a slow introduction as the traveller sets foot at the pier in the morning. The main allegro begins as he hears the carnival from a distance and proceeds to explore, represented by the scherzando-like figures. Short episodes of tranquillity interrupt the carnival as the traveller, in a reverie, looks out to admire the Neapolitan coastline. The piece ends as the carnival fades out into the distance. Contrasting with the festivities, the traveller encounters A Merchant at the Spinning Wheel, the title of the second movement. This encounter depicts the reality of the poverty-stricken region at the time. Here, the merchant is depicted in a trance-like state, as the monotonous arpeggiated figures at the piano are heard throughout. Later in the piece, we hear the agitated merchant spinning the wheel faster, distracted by the carnival, but eventually calms down towards the end. The third movement, In the Ballroom, the traveller enters a ballroom, observing the dancers from a distance. He finds himself drawn to a young woman, though slightly nervous, whom he invites to dance. In the middle section, we hear the awkwardness between them as they both stumble frequently. Eventually, he regains his composure and the two dance well into the evening. In the fourth movement At the Opera, the traveller then goes to a nearby opera house where he walks in during a love duet between a tenor and soprano. The final movement At the Plaza, the traveller encounters the carnival once again. This time, they are dancing a tarantella, a Neapolitan folk dance depicting the involuntary muscle spasms from a venomous spider bite. The traveller joins in and dances with them until sunrise.

It uses the idea that there can be only one voice or chord-tone that shifts from one iteration or segment to the next. Thus this piece used small variations on simple five-finger positions that are juxtaposed against each other, with the variations being only one note from one to the next within s section, that section to be followed by another set of similar motions, but on a different keyboard shape. The melody is derived from the content of the five-note group below it, often as dyads with an added 1/2 step. Duration about 3 mins. Lots of motion and crunch, like a good musical snack! MP3 MIDI audio. Advanced level at tempo, but Intermediate at a slower pace. MBB.

The first piece in each season is at the mid to late elementary level, the second piece is at the early intermediate level and the third piece is at the intermediate level. The Glistening Woodland Waltz, with lyrics, for the winter season, is in 3/4 time, and uses a broken C chord waltz pattern in the left hand bass clef part. The right hand uses many skips and finger stretches to reach the notes that step outside of five finger positions. Several of the eight selections are free-form and improvisational, revealing some of Liz Story’s influence on his music. Some of Isadar’s earlier recordings have very dark, moody sections, but this one stays fairly upbeat and optimistic without being ear candy. The music is complex enough to sink your teeth into, and yet is accessible enough to enjoy as a backdrop to a quiet dinner or an evening with a good book. Joyful Running begins the journey with an exuberant and uplifting piece that reminds me a little of some of Spencer Brewer’s bouncier compositions. Fountain of Life is a beautiful piece with a water-like flow that never stops in its 10 1/2 minutes. I listened to this CD several times without realizing that this song was that long. It flows and meanders so effortlessly that it seemed no longer than the other seven selections, most of which are between four and five minutes in length. Unstructured and free, this is one of my favorite tracks. I also really like the title track, which is even more abstract and unstructured. The tone is of searching and moving forward. End of the Line is my favorite on this album. Very introspective and contemplative, this seems to be a very personal piece. It is the most somber track, but one still senses hope despite the ending of something dear and important. Or maybe it’s simply the end of the journey and the dread of returning to real life - I feel this way on the last day of my vacations! It is a wonderful and moving closing to an excellent album.The companion songbook is expertly transcribed and engraved by David Shenton of New York Music Publishing. The layout of the music is clear and uncluttered, and the notation includes pedal markings and dynamics that allow the pianist to express the music as closely as possible to how Isadar played it on the recording.  A few of the pieces are quite long and require a more advanced pianist who is able to express the nuances that keep the recording so interesting, but several of the pieces are well within the capabilities of upper intermediate players.  Some of the rhythms are a little bit tricky, but the majority of the left hand parts are running eighth notes, which make it easier.  None of the key signatures are difficult, and none of the chords have a reach of more than an octave, making this music very playable for smaller hands.  My favorite pieces to play in this book are Joyful Running, Voice of God (Thanksgiving), Smoke Signals, and End of the Line.Isadar is an artist on both Enlightened Piano Radio & Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, the latter featuring some of today's biggest names in solo piano music, including Ludovico Einaudi, David Nevue, Brian Crain, Kevin Kern, Robin Spielberg, Michele McLaughlin, Philip Wesley and over 300 more... This cycle of piano pieces is a collection of five short nocturnes. The first four Acuarelas were composed in Buenos Aires between 9th and 12th April 2007, the fifth piece was conceived on 4th May and written down on 6th May 2007. All five pieces have practically the same formal structure. Concerning the musical language or style, I would classify this work under contemporary classical with interferences from modern jazz and new tango (imagine Astor Piazzolla listening to a recording of Thelonious Monk playing preludes of Alexander Scriabin). This movement is the fourth of five dance portraits (collectively titled Musique SABA) commemorating the Southern Academy of Ballet Arts (S.A.B.A.) and its performing company, Pas de Vie, of Tallahassee, Florida. The piece originates from 2003 when composed for the dancer Seah Hagan's first piano lesson, devoted to just two notes, at age four. Fittingly enough, the left-hand part embeds musical ciphers suggested by the syllables of her name, as Se-ah using forms of the pitches C and A, including in a simple way playable by the novice. Meanwhile, the right-hand part, as if for the teacher, quotes Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers--a borrowing itself punning since drawn from Casse-noisette (1892). The new, playful waltz lasts about forty seconds.

For details, please consult my biographers. Untransferable is the lived experience, the pain – and consciousness. The approach to this album is conceptual, as a journey from darkness to light, from the forces of oppression to liberation, from thanatos to survival. Musically, this album is also a way of reaffirming that I want, that I need to play and record music that is as authentic as possible, and not what is supposed to be successful in certain contexts. Certainly, the pieces on this album can be performed individually. These eleven works were recorded at Access All Areas Studios, Bremen (Germany); recording and mastering engineer: Nils Völcker. The recordings can be found on all digital streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, TikTok, Instagram, etc.).
