It was originally only an album track; 2 years passed before it was released as a single. During 1973-74, the Carpenters found themselves with a busy touring schedule, which kept them from working on new material. As a result, they had no album issued for the year. End Of The LineAlbum & Songbook review by:  Kathy Parsons (MainlyPiano.com):Isadar’s fourth solo piano album is a blend of smooth jazz and new age stylings, showing both his impressive technique and sensitivity to melody. Several of the eight selections are free-form and improvisational, revealing some of Liz Story’s influence on his music. Some of Isadar’s earlier recordings have very dark, moody sections, but this one stays fairly upbeat and optimistic without being ear candy. The music is complex enough to sink your teeth into, and yet is accessible enough to enjoy as a backdrop to a quiet dinner or an evening with a good book. Joyful Running begins the journey with an exuberant and uplifting piece that reminds me a little of some of Spencer Brewer’s bouncier compositions. Fountain of Life is a beautiful piece with a water-like flow that never stops in its 10 1/2 minutes. I listened to this CD several times without realizing that this song was that long. It flows and meanders so effortlessly that it seemed no longer than the other seven selections, most of which are between four and five minutes in length. Unstructured and free, this is one of my favorite tracks. I also really like the title track, which is even more abstract and unstructured. The tone is of searching and moving forward. End of the Line is my favorite on this album. Very introspective and contemplative, this seems to be a very personal piece. It is the most somber track, but one still senses hope despite the ending of something dear and important. Or maybe it’s simply the end of the journey and the dread of returning to real life - I feel this way on the last day of my vacations! It is a wonderful and moving closing to an excellent album.The companion songbook is expertly transcribed and engraved by David Shenton of New York Music Publishing. The layout of the music is clear and uncluttered, and the notation includes pedal markings and dynamics that allow the pianist to express the music as closely as possible to how Isadar played it on the recording.  A few of the pieces are quite long and require a more advanced pianist who is able to express the nuances that keep the recording so interesting, but several of the pieces are well within the capabilities of upper intermediate players.  Some of the rhythms are a little bit tricky, but the majority of the left hand parts are running eighth notes, which make it easier.  None of the key signatures are difficult, and none of the chords have a reach of more than an octave, making this music very playable for smaller hands.  My favorite pieces to play in this book are Joyful Running, Voice of God (Thanksgiving), Smoke Signals, and End of the Line.Isadar is an artist on both Enlightened Piano Radio & Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, the latter featuring some of today's biggest names in solo piano music, including Ludovico Einaudi, David Nevue, Brian Crain, Kevin Kern, Robin Spielberg, Michele McLaughlin, Philip Wesley and over 300 more... Classically-trained pianists are often asked to “play some quiet background music†which is non-invasive, that will support the event without bringing attention to the music itself, and can be brought to a graceful close quickly. “What to play?†is not the only challenge, but also, “What do I do if I run out of music before the event is done?†or, How can I bring a piece to a close if I'm told to stop playing before the piece is over?†“HELP! I can't improvise! I offer you a set of beautiful phrases that are uniquely purposed to fill these needs - and more. Peaceful Measures is a set of twelve four-measure, repeatable, interchangeable phrases with very little melodic distraction. Start with any phrase that suits your need, such as background music for a pastoral prayer. Repeat one phrase indefinitely or flow directly to any other. Skip around. Each phrase leads to all others, and all lead to your choice of two clearly labeled Endings. Because this download includes the seven most commonly used major keys, Peaceful Measures can also be used as vamping material until the song you are accompanying is ready to sing. Bach Two Part Invention in B Flat, that just about every piano student has learnt at one time.Bach did not give any musical directions in his scores for keyboard, and I have therefore provided two versions; one version without any performance instructions, and the other version with minimal instructions. I suggest you look at the version without performance instructions, and work out your own interpretation. One interpretation might be to play the piece as if you are playing a two manual harpsichord. You could have two volumes for various sections, say pp and mf, but of course you would not have any crescendo or decrescendo in your performance. This album follows the simple story of A Squirrel Named Whiskers. Whiskers is a curious but cautious little squirrel that lives in the woods and enjoys exploring new areas of the woods from time to time when he finishes collecting food for the day. This story follows Whiskers as he ventures out into an unknown part of the woods and happens to stumble across an old abandoned house which is surrounded by trees and bushes. There is no one to be seen or heard here and Whiskers can’t help but explore inside.I began writing this album with the track “And Carefully Crept Inside.” but I actually wasn’t planning on writing a full album at that point. I go into more detail in the individual track’s program note about it but it was the spark that led me to commit to writing a full album. I began composing other tracks for the music box to be part of the album and then I had an idea to make the titles into a story, but what would they be about? The music box is an enchanting and mysterious little instrument and is often associated with magic, fairies, and the forest which is what led me to decide to write the story about a Squirrel.I took some time to write out a short story and then created 10 titles that would fit the story. I continued to write the remaining tracks of the album now using the titles as inspiration to write the music which made it easy to create a certain mood and style. Writing this album was a great exercise in writing music that has a story behind it which something I always try to do when composing. I believe that every piece of music has a story behind it intentionally or unintentionally. I plan to continue to infuse a story in the music I write as it gives it much more meaning than a piece of music being written without a story in mind. I hope you enjoy listening to or practicing these pieces and have fun following along with whiskers on his journey into the unknown.

This piece is placed somewhere between classical music and new tango. Moderator Louis Barabbas wrote about Ausente for the BBC blog Fresh On The Net nr. 305 (19 November 2018), http://freshonthenet.co.uk/2018/11/faves305 Described as 'somewhere between classical music and new tango' the artist’s phrasing here is telling: somewhere rather than something. For in Juan Maria Solare’s Ausente (absent) we are certainly transported. Each angular phrase jutting up like stone columns or distended stalactites in a limey cave. The trickling thrust of its furtive intent feels somehow elemental yet focused through an urban noir prism, drops of heavy water in varying temperatures, some icicles and some steam, shards of smoky light poking around slow moving fan blades and between the rusty teeth of ancient window grills, monstrous warped shadows cast up from humble orphaned minutiae. Music as beautiful and unsettling as it is hard to dance to. The idea of dancing this piece was a surprise for me, since tango music doesn't need to be danced to (you can also just listen to it). But if you wonder how this tango would appear danced, imagine it is not called tango but contemporary ballet rooted in tango - and suddenly you find ways of dancing it... provided an open-minded choreographer is on board! If someone wants to dance this music in the style of the tango of 1920, they will have a hard time. My Variations on the hymn tune Gordon (My Jesus, I Love Thee) are intended for church pianists looking for interesting arrangements of hymns familiar to their congregations. The four variations in this set display increasing rhythmic complexity as one plays them from beginning to end, ranging from continuous streams of eighth notes to eighth-note triplets to sixteenths. The first, and simplest, variation can be played alone. Variations 2-4 are written as a continuous group, though they too can be played individually if desired, by adding a conclusive tonic note in the bass. For the most part the pitches of the hymn tune are presented without ornamentation, though there are occasional exceptions. I have provided a full-length recording to aid the prospective buyer in the decision-making process. I encourage you to search the Sheet Music Plus or the Sheet Music Direct website for other hymn arrangements of mine, some for organ and others for piano.
