Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1213917 By Roy Clark. By Charles Aznavour and Herbert Kretzmer. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Film/TV,Jazz,Multicultural,Singer/Songwriter,Standards,World. Score. 8 pages. Timothy Stapay #811114. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1213917). Yesterday When I was Young is a song composed by Georges Garvarentz and written by Charles Aznavour and released in September 1964. The original French title translates to Just yesterday or Not so long ago.It is considered one of Aznavour's greatest hits. The English-language lyrics, written by Herbert Kretzmer, tell of someone reflecting on his life, recalling how he had wasted his younger years.Lyrics:[Verse 1]Yesterday when I was youngThe taste of life was sweet as rain upon my tongueI teased at life as if it were a foolish gameThe way the evening breeze may tease a candle flameThe thousand dreams I dreamed, the splendid things I plannedI always built, alas, on weak and shifting sandI lived by night and shunned the naked light of dayAnd only now I see how the years ran away[Verse 2]Yesterday, when I was youngSo many drinking songs were waiting to be sungSo many wayward pleasures lay in store for meAnd so much pain my dazzled eyes refused to seeI ran so fast that time and youth at last ran outI never stopped to think what life was all aboutAnd every conversation I can now recallConcerned itself with me, me and nothing else at all[Verse 3]Yesterday the moon was blueAnd every crazy day brought something new to doI used my magic age as if it were a wandAnd never saw the waste and emptiness beyondThe game of love I played with arrogance and prideAnd every flame I lit too quickly, quickly diedThe friends I made all seemed somehow to drift awayAnd only I am left on stage to end the play[Outro]There are so many songs in me that won't be sungI feel the bitter taste of tears upon my tongueThe time has come for me to pay for yesterdayWhen I was youngYoung, young...

Composed by Public Domain, as performed and recorded by Isadar. Arranged by Isadar. Contemporary Classical, Neo- Classical, Christmas, Recital, New Age. Sheet Music Single. 8 pages. Published by Mainya Music Publishing
Contains:<br> "Greensleeves 2012"<br> - taken from the Isadar solo piano collection, "O Christmas" (also available on SMP)<br> <br> Sounds like: Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas," Liz Story's "The Gift," George Winston's "December," legacy Windham Hill solo piano artists, "A Winter's Solstice" compilations.<br> <br> Note: “Greensleeves 2012” is a revisited and evolved arrangement which like my earlier version, was inspired by – and also pays ‘homage’ to – Liz Story’s brilliant take on this timeless piece.<br> <br> Transcribed by: David Shenton ( https://www.shentonmusic.com/ ) verbatim to the sound recording<br> <br> Album review by: Michael Diamond (http://michaeldiamondmusic.com):<br> <br> Fresh on the heels of his highly acclaimed chart-topping CD, Reconstructed, Isadar gifts us with a sparkling new album of holiday-themed instrumental music for solo piano, entitled “O Christmas.” Given the proximity to his recent release, one might assume that this one was quickly produced, but in reality O Christmas has been 7 years in the making. Various circumstances including other recording projects, a segue into the field of video production, and a cross country move from NYC to the west coast and later back again, created delays with the completion of the album. But as they say, “good things come to those who wait.”<br> One of the most interesting things about this album is the fact that the selections are traditional Christmas songs, yet some were chosen because they are less well known, or “off the beaten path” as Isadar characterizes them. This follows the pattern set by his 1999 Christmas album “In Search For The Meaning Of Christmas,” yet this new CD mines even deeper in its quest for interesting and unusual choices.<br> <br> The album begins with a track called “Good Christian Men.” Steeped in history, the song dates back to 14th century Germany and its Latin title was originally “In Dulci Jubilo” before it was translated into English in the 1800’s. Isadar’s interpretation creates a lively and festive air that makes a perfect portal to the recording. The high-spirited mood continues on the next song, “Teddy Bears Picnic,” which although not technically a Christmas song, has been interwoven by Isadar with “March Of The Toys” to tie it in with the holidays – a clever arrangement of these intriguing melodies. One of the more well-known carols on the album is “O Christmas Tree” and is sure to have listeners humming along with it’s familiar refrain.<br> <br> A track entitled “Still” is an innovative rendition of the classic “Still, Still, Still” which Isadar has put his own spin on, or as he jokingly puts it “jazzed up shamelessly.” No such liberties were taken on the classic “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” however. This song provides a showcase for Isadar’s accomplished grand piano work, featuring lush left hand arpeggios creating a strong foundation for his more delicate right hand melodies to dance upon – a powerful and moving combination. Another of the less well known, yet equally inspiring tunes is a Puerto Rican carol entitled “Song Of The Wise Men.” It has been said that: “Christmas is, above all, a children’s holiday, and many hymns are addressed to children, reminding them that the real reason for the sugarplums and Christmas trees is the celebration of the birth of the Christ Child.” This theme is well reflected in Isadar’s choice of “O Come Little Children,” based on a carol from the 1800’s.<br> <br> Among my favorite tracks on the album are the wistful strains of “Greensleeves 2012,” which Isadar interprets with elegance and grandeur and also pays ‘homage’ to Liz Story’s brilliant take on this enduring composition. This is followed by a rendition of “Masters In This Hall,” which can best be described as, well… “masterful.” The song dates back to the sixteenth century, and is another of the less well-known tunes that Isadar has chosen to feature. The album draws to a close with Isadar invoking artistic license on what is perhaps one of the most unique and liberal versions of a classic carol heard here yet. Based on “We Wish You A Merry Christmas,” Isadar characterizes it as “an uninhibited melancholy arrangement.” While I don’t know if “melancholy” is the word I would use to describe it, it does have a pensive quality and is presented more as a nocturne than usual lively carol it is known as. I really liked the interpretation and respect Isadar’s creativity and distinctive rendering of the song.<br> <br> “O Christmas” is an exceptional holiday collection, not only for Isadar’s elegant grand piano artistry, but as well for the interesting and sometimes unexpected repertoire contained within. Like ornaments on a tree, the songs adorn the album, enhancing its beauty with their diversity, individuality, and timelessness. Given the well-deserved accolades and popularity of Isadar’s distinctive piano style, I’m sure that fans will want to include “O Christmas” in their collection and make it a part of their holiday tradition.Contains:<br> "Greensleeves 2012"<br> - taken from the Isadar solo piano collection, "O Christmas" (also available on SMP)<br> <br> Sounds like: Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas," Liz Story's "The Gift," George Winston's "December," legacy Windham Hill solo piano artists, "A Winter's Solstice" compilations.<br> <br> Note: “Greensleeves 2012” is a revisited and evolved arrangement which like my earlier version, was inspired by – and also pays ‘homage’ to – Liz Story’s brilliant take on this timeless piece.<br> <br> Transcribed by: David Shenton ( https://www.shentonmusic.com/ ) verbatim to the sound recording<br> <br> Album review by: Michael Diamond (http://michaeldiamondmusic.com):<br> <br> Fresh on the heels of his highly acclaimed chart-topping CD, Reconstructed, Isadar gifts us with a sparkling new album of holiday-themed instrumental music for solo piano, entitled “O Christmas.” Given the proximity to his recent release, one might assume that this one was quickly produced, but in reality O Christmas has been 7 years in the making. Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1028034 Composed by Maxwell Olson. Contemporary,Jazz,Latin,World. Score. 7 pages. Jake Madeira #3223163. Published by Jake Madeira (A0.1028034). This étude is one of energetic character with simple, yet powerful melodies and rhythms that create a sense of curiosity. I composed this piece in a simpler form when I was around 17, in my high school music theory class. All of the ideas were there, melody and structure, but what it lacked was experience. It felt flat. So, 5 years later, after I rediscovered the piece, I decided to put some time into adding flavor, excitement, and intrigue. In doing so, I hope that I've created not only a technical challenge that will strengthen your skills, but a fun piece of music that you'll love to play!Split into three parts in an ABA format, this piece features a main theme divided by a softer second theme, both of which provide technical challenges in their own rights. The first focus of this étude is to build stamina in maintaining rapid octave progressions in each hand. This is coupled with quick jumps in the right hand that require precise and deliberate movements to perfect. The second focus is to strengthen control over legato passages in rolling arpeggios, while maintaining a delicate touch for the melody, and exercising the dynamic range of the fingers. In practicing this piece, it is very important to start slowly and with definitive control in all sections! It cannot be stressed enough how much of an impact bad habits can make on the execution of this étude. If you work diligently on finger control and technique, it will stick with you in all of your future endeavors! Be warned though: this is a difficult piano solo. It will take time and effort to learn, however, those efforts will all pay off in the end. Don't let it discourage you. I wish you all luck in learning this étude, and if you have any questions at all, please feel free to email me at walkingreject@gmail.com.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1358432 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by Franz Liszt. 19th Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Romantic Period. Score. 6 pages. Stephen Smith #942883. Published by Stephen Smith (A0.1358432). Liszt's virtuoso transcription of the beloved Schubert Ave Maria is a wonderful work that has never been well-edited--until now! The notation used in all prior published versions had the melody placed on a third middle staff, making the piece annoyingly hard to read; bar after bar had groups of 11 or 12 32nd-notes beamed together, obscuring the metrical units; many bars involved 6 or 7 changes of clef; there were rhythms that didn't add up, and even misspellings of Italian terms! This edition addresses all of those issues, so that players can get down to the real work of learning this extraordinary piece. Liszt's setting of the song's second verse is something of a pianistic miracle: although both hands are engaged in constant arpeggiation and figuration, the melody somehow manages to appear in the middle of it all--almost as if played by a ghostly third hand!

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1217783 By The Ritchie Family. By Ary Barroso and S.K. Russell. Arranged by Timothy Stapay/Liberace. Film/TV,Jazz,Latin,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 6 pages. Timothy Stapay #814316. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1217783). This arrangement of Brazil is written as performed by famous piano artist, Liberace. This is the same version that he performed on his emmy-award winning TV. show and in concerts around the world.Aquarela do Brasil (Portuguese: [akwaˈɾɛlÉ du bɾaˈziw], 'Watercolor of Brazil'), written by Ary Barroso in 1939 and known in the English-speaking world simply as Brazil, is one of the most famous Brazilian songs. Ary Barroso wrote Aquarela do Brasil in early 1939, when he was prevented from leaving his home one rainy night due to a heavy storm. Its title, a reference to watercolor painting, is a clear reference to the rain. He also wrote Três lágrimas (Three Teardrops) on that same night, before the rain ended.Describing the song in an interview to Marisa Lira, of the newspaper Diário de NotÃcias, Barroso said that he wanted to free the samba away from the tragedies of life, of the sensual scenario already so explored. According to the composer, he felt all the greatness, the value and the wealth of our land, reliving the tradition of the national panels.WÅ‚adziu Valentino Liberace (May 16, 1919 – February 4, 1987) was an American pianist, singer, and actor. A child prodigy born in Wisconsin to parents of Italian and Polish origin, he enjoyed a career spanning four decades of concerts, recordings, television, motion pictures, and endorsements. At the height of his fame from the 1950s to 1970s, he was the highest-paid entertainer in the world!Lyrics:Brazil, where hearts were entertaining JuneWe stood beneath an amber moonAnd softly murmured Someday soonWe kissed and clung togetherThen, tomorrow was another dayThe morning found me miles awayWith still a million things to sayNow, when twilight dims the skies aboveRecalling thrills of our loveThere's one thing I'm certain ofReturn, I will, to old BrazilThen, tomorrow was another dayThe morning found me miles awayWith still a million things to sayNow, when twilight dims the sky aboveRecalling thrills of our loveThere's one thing that I'm certain ofReturn, I will, to old BrazilThat old BrazilMan, it's old in BrazilBrazil, Brazil

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.862555 Composed by Michael Bomier. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score. 5 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #2034473. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862555). When using the intervals of a 4th and a tritone as material for a non-jazz piece, one has to be careful not to make the music sound like jazz, as this particular interval set comprises the essential dominant chord voicing for most jazz pianists. G-C#-F#, for instance, as a representation of A13 or A7. So, this piece uses complete symmetry, mirroring and topographically equivalent fingerings throughout, so as to avoid this problem. Admittedly, the spellings are not easy to decipher. They often use the flatted form of a note in one clef, and the sharped form of that same musical alphabet letter in the other. This is to avoid endless naturals, as the half-step motion, so typical of movement between 4ths and tritones, necessitates. Arpeggiated figures, block chords, and even some delicious chimes at the close make this piece more than a mere display of intervallic and pianistic options. It has a feeling all its own, as the sequential chromatic meandering up from the lower end of the keyboard to the upper shows each color in turn, all the while keeping to the strict rules that these etudes were constructed under. This is the last of the groups of two interval pieces. Running time is just under 3 mins. MBB.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1427785 Composed by Gerald W. Gabbard. 21st Century. Score. 6 pages. Gerald W. Gabbard #1008525. Published by Gerald W. Gabbard (A0.1427785). Thank you for your interest in this advanced piano solo piece I composed during the first year of the COVID-19 Pandemic. I found a sense of hope and optimism from performing this light waltz, despite that the vaccine was still many months away at that point and things were looking grim. The waltz is written pretty much in an Intro-A-B-A'-Coda form. While the tempo is listed as “Moderately,” do not play it too quickly. There are some elements of B-flat Lydian interspersed.Regarding articulation: I use tenuto and accent + tenuto marks frequently in my compositions. I tend to use them mostly as indications for the melody and/or notes that should be emphasized or brought out. I never intend the accent + tenuto to be harsh, but it should be stronger than the tenuto alone. This is the first of eight waltzes for piano I composed between September 2020 and April 2024. I intend to have a collection of all eight available for sale in addition to individual pieces. The available recording on Arrange Me and Sheet Music Plus is an export from Finale – not a live performance. I hope you enjoy playing this piece! Gerald Gabbard.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.744622 Composed by J.S. Bach / Elena Fortin. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score. 5 pages. Elena Fortin #4717613. Published by Elena Fortin (A0.744622). Winter StormYears ago, I played the Bach Prelude in C Minor (BMV 999) in the RCM books. It can now be found in the Level 6 Repertoire Book of the Celebration Series by the Royal Conservatory of Music. As a creative challenge, I thought to myself: What would happen if I took the Prelude, and put it ALL in the left hand. And what would happen if some furious diva decided to play a melody over the top of this prelude? This piece is the result: a fantastic, Chopinesque remix of JS Bach. I stayed true to the Prelude wherever possible, sticking to the glorious harmonies that were explored by his genius. The melody came out stormy–and since I live in Canada, it became the perfect title. Winter Storm. The piece is challenging as a solo recital piece, but well-worth learning if you are a fan of Bach and Chopin. The left hand never stops–and has some challenging leaps and booming bass notes. The right hand is challenged with odd rhythmic subdivisions, 3’s against 2’s being one of my favourites, as well as a challenging 11 against 4 flurry of notes. Further challenges include a RH double note pattern at the end, trills, and ornaments. If you want an extra challenge, you could always play it faster–my speed in the video is conservative, only because I was trying to make sure I got the correct notes! Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1204368 By Kathleen Ryan. By Kathleen Ryan. Classical,New Age. Score. 8 pages. Indigo Mesa Music LLC #802848. Published by Indigo Mesa Music LLC (A0.1204368). As composed and recorded by Kathleen Ryan on her CD Under the Greenwood Tree.Kathleen's composer notes: A story song that began with a simple Western waltz that came to me while we were driving into town one day. (I have a way of notating a melody very quickly so that I don’t lose music in such situations.) Until I sat down to do the first recording of this music, Water in a Dry Land was still just the little waltz. But while the music expressed all the longing for water that we here in the dry land feel, it didn’t actually have any water in it, and as soon as I started recording I wanted some watery music to be there. So I made up the middle section, which seems to me to be quite watery, and practiced it and thought I was done. Then the next time we recorded it, on listening to the playback, all of a sudden I wanted to hear the dry land! That was the genesis of the opening chords, which repeat after the middle (water) section. I was still refining (that is, re-writing) this music up to the very day I recorded it!Advanced: a challenging piece that offers many contrasts of mood and style. Architectural in its structure, with sections depicting the sandstone cliffs of New Mexico, the earth’s longing for water, and the welcome blessing of gentle rains.

Mon Homme (My Man) is the famous song sung by Barbra Streisand in the movie Funny Girl It is arranged as performed by Barbra's good friend, Liberace. Liberace helped give Barbra Streisand her start in the early days of Las Vegas and he recognized her talent very early. My Man, is a popular song first published in 1920. The song was originally composed by Maurice Yvain with French lyrics by Jacques-Charles (Jacques Mardochée Charles) and Albert Willemetz. The English lyrics were written by Channing Pollock. Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.873046 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Contemporary. Score. 11 pages. Sally Whitwell #6119391. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.873046). A Week in November… and what a week it was! It was the week of the US Presidential Election 2020. As I write these words, the absurdist tantrums of the Trump-Pence campaign versus the reasoned compassion of team Biden-Harris continues even well after the results have been called in the Democrats’ favour. There will not be the usual respectful concession speech and transition of power. I worry every day about how these next few months will be so very difficult, maybe even dangerous, for my American friends. Those convoys of flag waving Trumpists gleefully, openly, encouraged by their ‘leader’, attempting to block the democratic process was horrifying to witness. Was America on the brink of civil war? It still doesn’t seem far fetched to think that as I sit in my studio on the other side of the world, feeling helpless. The only thing I felt that I could do for my friends over there was to offer them a way to feel safe and loved in the moment, a bit of musical mindfulness. It was in this spirit that I wrote the second movement of this work, subtitled A Pocket Full of Calm. My excellent pianist friends Erica Sipes (USA) and Sandra Mogensen (Canada) adopted my little tune, recorded it on their social media to share said moment in the moment as it were. I hope it helped. I mean, if I can bring to even just one person some sense of calm solidarity, I’m happy with that. The fifth movement in the set, Victorious, resolute, but gracious, was a stream-of-consciousness creative response to the Biden Harris victory and the way they handled it so eloquently, so humbly, how they gave the world a sense of optimism once more. For a long while, I’d felt that I probably wouldn’t be welcome in America. As a mixed race, queer woman I was the antithesis of everything they valued. But now, people like me over there can feel human again. The relief! As for the other days of that week in November, they are part of a continuing series of daily composition exercises I started back in October in an effort to end a lengthy period of pandemic-induced creative block. Using a combination of exercises from Music Composition Toolbox (Barbeler/Blom/Hindson) and Brian Eno’s Oblique Strategies I’ve been able to find my creativity again. Starting a composition ‘habit’ is the best thing I’ve done for my writing all year and is how I mean to continue for a long time. Sally Whitwell12 November 2020

When the short children's film The Snowman was released in 1982 we were instantly captivated by the epic-sounding music that accompanied young James and his new snowy friend as they soared through the moonlit sky. A YouTube link provided in case you are not familiar with it. For years I have longed to play this vocal/orchestral music on the piano, so I decided to try and capture the magic and scope of it for pianists to enjoy for themsleves or perform as a concert piece for audiences. Some fingering and pedaling suggestions have been written in for your experiementation. I have loved every minute of my time with this music! I hope you will too.

Key Signature: F♯ MinorTime Signature: 3/4Tempo: Allegro non troppo (not too much, also mind the sustained/connected stacc. melody)Difficulty: Advanced (very)Felix Mikhailovich Blumenfeld (19 April 1863 [O.S. 7 April] – 21 January 1931) was a Russian composer, conductor, pianist, and teacher. He was born in Kovalevka, Kherson Governorate, Russian Empire (today - part of Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine), the son of Mikhail Frantsevich Blumenfeld and the Polish Marie Szymanowska, and studied composition at the St. Petersburg Conservatory under Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and piano under Fedor Stein between 1881 and 1885. He then taught piano there himself from 1885 until 1918, whilst also serving as conductor of the Mariinsky Theatre until 1911.This theatre saw the premieres of the operas composed by his teacher and mentor Rimsky-Korsakov, and he was also the conductor at the Russian premiere of Wagner's opera Tristan und Isolde. In 1908, he conducted the Paris premiere of Modest Mussorgsky's opera Boris Godunov. From 1918 to 1922, he was the director of the Music-drama school of Mykola Lysenko in Kiev, where, amongst others, Vladimir Horowitz was a pupil in his masterclasses. He returned to the Moscow Conservatory in 1922, teaching there until his death. Other famous pupils of his include Simon Barere, Maria Yudina and Maria Grinberg. He died in Moscow. As a pianist, he played many of the compositions of his Russian contemporaries. His compositions, which showed the influence of Frédéric Chopin and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, include a symphony, pieces for solo piano, an Allegro de Concert for piano and orchestra, and lieder. His virtuoso pieces for piano in particular are enjoying something of a renaissance in recent years. He was the uncle of Heinrich Neuhaus and first cousin, once removed of Karol Szymanowski (Felix and Karol's father, Stanislaw Szymanowski, were cousins).(Wikipedia).

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.977032 Composed by Paul SanGregory. Contemporary. Score. 10 pages. Distant Engraver Music #3534595. Published by Distant Engraver Music (A0.977032). Capricious FantasyAs per the request of pianist Michael Tsalka, this flowing, expressive and lyrical piece is based on motives from the music of Classical Bohemian composer Johann Baptist Wanhal. Motives from his Capriccio No. 3, for piano, are used as fundamental building blocks, but the style of their expression and development is radically different. Because motives from different sections or movements of Wanhal’s piece all appear in this single movement, the character and expression here is more changeable, less stable and some might even say more romantic than Wanhal’s capriccio. Technically, this piece borrows ideas of repetition and continuous flow from recent minimalist music, but the effect is more lyrical, flexible and dramatic than classic minimalism. It begins with the repetition of four chords that were derived from notes used in one of Wanhal’s melodic motives. New melodies based on that motive then enter with different phrase lengths, creating a gentle dialogue of independent voices. Eventually, a faster idea from the same capriccio is introduced, but it is first played slowly and freely before its tempo increases. The entire piece then continues unfolding as a freely flowing dialogue of moods, tempos and characters based on these three simple ideas and it culminates with fast notes and strong declarations before subsiding into a gentle ending that includes all three motives.Performance duration ca. 6 minutes.

Desvaríos sobre "La botijuela" - a set of variations of a Costa Rica song through Latin American dance rhythms.<br> Performance time: 13 mins aprox.<br> <br> Legend has it that the gamonales (landlords) used to keep their money in botijuelas (earthen jars) with the purpose of insuring it against the thieves. These jars were hidden in the thick walls or floors of the houses. As time went by, it so happened that the owners of the money usually forgot the place where they had hidden it and died without finding it. According to popular imagination, the soul of every person who dies having their money buried did not rest in peace until it was found. But on other occasions the owner of the money had been so greedy in life that, even after death, his spirit was still taking care of its capital, and lashed out against the person who dared to find it and take it away. To appease the spirit, it was necessary to invoke the sound of the dance "La botijuela", so that it would not take revenge and reveal the hiding place with the booty.<br> The work “Desvaríos sobre La botijuela" (Deliriums on “La Botijuela”) was inspired by this popular Costa Rican dance and legend. It is a really divertimento for solo piano, consisting of ten variations (or rather free reconstructions) of this Costa Rican folk dance. This musical theme is a danza criolla (creole dance), a rhythm that in Costa Rica is clearly related to other international dances such as habanera and contradanza. Some of the variations of this work make direct musical allusions to the style of composition of important figures of Latin American pianism, namely: Heitor Villa-Lobos, Manuel M. Ponce, Ignacio Cervantes, Astor Piazzolla, Ernesto Nazareth and Alberto Ginastera. Other variations, on the other hand, set rhythms present in the traditional musical imaginary of Costa Rica, even though they are not unique to the country. Such are the cases of rhythms such as pasillo, calypso, swing criollo (cumbia) and tambito. All these adaptations of the original theme are always made from a traditional tonal scheme. In this way, it demonstrates how a melody can be framed with extreme versatility in different rhythmic and stylistic patterns of the continent. That is why it is accurate to affirm that “Desvaríos on La botijuela" is a composition eminently Latin American.Desvaríos sobre "La botijuela" - a set of variations of a Costa Rica song through Latin American dance rhythms.<br> Performance time: 13 mins aprox.<br> <br> Legend has it that the gamonales (landlords) used to keep their money in botijuelas (earthen jars) with the purpose of insuring it against the thieves.
