This piece explores the whole range of the piano, as well as the instrument's more percussive side in a work that's rhythmically rich, with accessible melodic material and harmonic contrasts. This is a high-concept, expressive show piece, which is perfect as a recital piece for a college student or professional and an average performance of this piece lasts just over 6 minutes. First performed (studio recording) in Scotland by Edward Cohen in August of 2020, this work explores the concept of Extant Art. The definition of Extant is: still in existence, surviving, what’s not destroyed or lost; focusing on what remains after the surface of a person, object, or idea is stripped away. Musically, this concept is expressed through breaking down melodies and harmonies to their simplest elements, exploring spacious and percussive textures, clusters and jarring contrasts, moments of shrill dissonance, and using fragmented and jagged rhythms to form the parts of a shattered whole. Ultimately, this work is about breaking down the outside emotional skin and then penetrating the depths of an individual, until left with just their extant core. A piano solo arrangement of Yesterday Once More; made famous by The Carpenters. Yesterday Once More, written by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis, is a hit song by the Carpenters from their 1973 album Now & Then. Thematically the song concerns reminiscing about songs of a generation gone by. It segues into a long medley, consisting of eight covers of 1960s tunes incorporated into a faux oldies radio program. The work takes up the entire B-side of the album.The single version of the song peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, kept from the number 1 spot by Bad, Bad Leroy Brown by Jim Croce. It was the duo's fifth number two hit and makes them the act with the second-most number two hits on the chart behind Madonna. This composition is a musical interpretation of Christina Rossetti's (1830-1894) poem “Echo†which she put to paper in 1854. In the text, the subject is reminiscing about lost love and their wishes for their lover to return to them in real life, or even in dreams, like an echo. They describe the memories of their love as something that shall always be a part of their life, much like the way it is in every heartbreaking relationship. The poem, and thus the music, is filled with the emotions of deep yearning, along with joy of memories past and hope- until it all fades away at the end and reality sets back in......Echo will be my featured compostion to celebrate International Piano Day on March 29th, 2023.

Here's how to play the "Lacrimosa" from Mozart's Requiem in D minor (K. 626) on piano!
With this piano sheet music, you can play an accurate piano arrangement of Mozart's beautiful "Lacrimosa".
It's a piano version which is not too hard to play, and it sounds fantastic.
The Requiem in D minor is the final composition by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756?1791).
Since he passed away while he was working on it, he left in unfinished - in fact, only the first 8 measures of the "Lacrimosa" are his original composition.
The Requiem was finished in the following months by Austrian composer Franz Xaver Sssmayr, whose version is most commonly used today.
As the first lines of the Lacrimosa reveal, it's a rather hartbreaking piece:
"Lacrimosa dies illa" translates to "This tearful day".
It's certainly one of Mozart's most beautiful compositions - and it makes for a wonderful piano version.
