Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1116457 By Stewart J Wallace. By Stewart J Wallace. Arranged by Stewart J Wallace. Children,Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Religious. Accompaniment. Duration 129. Stewart J Wallace #718101. Published by Stewart J Wallace (A0.1116457). This is a piano backing track accompaniment for this modern carol that would suit church choirs, school choirs, and congregations looking for something new, which would still compliment the traditional and well-known carols. The melody is memorable and the harmonies are rich and stately. The words encourage us all to use our voices to sing and relay the message of Christ's birth. The sheet music is available separately with the piano and melody line and a more intricate SATB arrangement. There is also an arrangement for brass instruments available separately. This backing track can be used with all printed materials.

Isadar’s In Search For the Meaning of Christmas definitely falls into this category! Thoughtful, introspective, and a bit moody, Isadar’s arrangements are true to the carols (with some small melody changes in “Bring a Torch” and “Carol of the Bells” that bother me just a little) and still seem very personal. “Bring a Torch”, “The Holly and the Ivy”, and “I Saw Three Ships” are given a lighthearted, joyful treatment. “Star of Wonder (We Three Kings)”, “What Child Is This?”, “The Coventry Carol”, and “Sing We Now of Christmas” are all minor, somber, reverent pieces, and all four are given loving arrangements that keep the dark, mysterious nature of the songs and reflect Isadar’s own sensibilities. “Carol of the Bells” and Isadar's take on Liz Story’s arrangement of “Greensleeves” are energetic without losing all abandon. “Silent Night” and “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear” present us with a very cold, deep solitude - both feel like late night with moonlight reflecting off the snow. Both are moody, but very beautifully so. George Winston’s “December” is one of my all-time favorite holiday albums, and I feel In Search For the Meaning of Christmas holds up exceptionally well next to it. This is an excellent collection of Christmas music, and I highly recommend it!

In Search For the Meaning of Christmas is the companion songbook to Isadar’s 1999 solo piano release by the same name. Meticulously transcribed note-for-note by David Shenton of New York Music Publishing, the music is faithful to the recording in every way (except for the pianist - YOU!). The scores are clear, concise, and easy to read, and also include chord indications for improvisation or the use of instruments other than or in addition to the piano. Isadar’s arrangements cover a whole range of emotions, from very dark and somber to joyful and buoyant. All of the pieces from the CD are here, including Isadar’s homage to Liz Story and her beautiful version of “Greensleeves.” My personal favorites of the eleven songs in this book are the bright and cheerful “Bring A Torch,” “What Child Is This?”, “Greensleeves,” the darkly gorgeous “The Coventry Carol,” and “Sing We Now of Christmas.” Other titles that I really like are “Children Go Where I Send Thee/The Holly and the Ivy,” “Star of Wonder (We Three Kings)," “Carol of the Bells,” and the effervescent “Three Ships.” “Silent” (Silent Night) and “Midnight” (It Came Upon a Midnight Clear) are a bit too dark for my own holiday tastes, but are interesting and very personal arrangements. Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1255179 By Max Potseluiev. By Max Potseluiev. 20th Century,21st Century,Jazz,New Age,Pop. Score. 2 pages. Max Potseluiev #848744. Published by Max Potseluiev (A0.1255179). Letting go of Love is a heartfelt and introspective composition that embraces the spirit of a freely improvisational jazz ballad. Inspired by the piano style of Keith Jarrett, this piece invites the listener to embark on a soulful journey of letting go and moving forward. With its soft and evocative melodies, it captures the bittersweet beauty of releasing love and finding inner peace. The music unfolds with a sense of spontaneity, as if the pianist is exploring the depths of their emotions in real-time. The gentle phrasing and delicate harmonies create an intimate atmosphere, allowing the listener to connect with the raw and vulnerable emotions that arise when love is set free.Letting go of Love embodies the essence of improvisation, where each note is an expression of the moment and emotions take shape through the music. The melodies meander freely, navigating through the emotional landscape with a tender touch. The soft dynamics and subtle nuances evoke a sense of vulnerability and acceptance, as the music embraces the journey of releasing attachments and finding solace in the act of letting go.Influenced by Keith Jarrett's piano style, this composition pays homage to his distinctive improvisational approach. It captures the essence of his ability to convey deep emotions through fluid and expressive melodies. The improvisational nature of the piece allows for artistic freedom, creating a unique and personal experience for both the listener and the performer.Letting go of Love is an invitation to embrace the process of healing and growth. The softness of the music provides a comforting space for reflection and self-discovery. Through its gentle and heartfelt melodies, it encourages the listener to release the weight of past attachments and find a renewed sense of freedom and inner peace.Immerse yourself in the soothing and contemplative sounds of Letting go of Love, and allow its improvisational beauty to resonate within. Let the music guide you through the emotional journey of releasing love and finding strength in the act of letting go.

During the course of my studies in Paris, I was amazed to discover that Debussy planned over 50 theatrical works but only finished two of these entirely by himself (the opera Pelléas et Mélisande in 1893–1902 and the ballet Jeux for Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes in 1912–13). Of the rest, many were never started musically (like Siddartha and Orphée-roi with the Oriental scholar Victor Segalen, 1907); some had a few tantalising sketches (like the Edgar Allan Poe opera Le Diable dans le beffroi, 1902–03); some were half-finished (like his other Poe opera La Chute de la Maison Usher, 1908–17); while others were musically complete but had their orchestrations completed by other composers (like Khamma, by Charles Koechlin, 1912–13; or Le Martyre de Saint Sébastien and La Boîte à joujoux by his ‘angel of corrections’ [‘l’ange des Corrections’] André Caplet in 1911 and 1919 respectively).

For it has to be admitted that what some scholars call Debussy’s ‘compulsive achievement’ could equally well be viewed as laziness, especially as far as the minute detail required for calligraphing his orchestral scores was concerned. It was as if creating the music itself was of greater importance than controlling its final sound, even if Debussy was an imaginative orchestrator when he found the time and energy to do it. It also seems true that Debussy also preferred inventing ideas to turning them into complete pieces. However, despite the lack of detail in many of his sketches (missing clefs, key signatures, dynamics, phrasing, etc.) the notes themselves are surprisingly accurate, whether or not they can be compared with a later draft. Thus, a large number of sketches exist for his Chinese ballet No-ja-li ou Le Palais du Silence and it is not too difficult to see which parts of Georges de Feure’s 1913 scenario (see below) inspired which ideas. But Debussy hardly made any attempt to join them together after the first few bars.

It was usually up to his publisher, Jacques Durand, to find solutions when Debussy risked a breach of contract. Debussy was supposed to supervise the orchestrations completed by others, but this supervision was usually very light and restricted to quiet, sensitive moments in which problems were easier to spot. Far from jealously guarding every one of his created notes, as Ravel did, Debussy once even went as far as to ask Koechlin to ‘write a ballet for him that he would sign’ on 26 March 1914 when he was hard-pressed to fulfil his lucrative contract for No-ja-li with André Charlot at the Alhambra Theatre in London. In the end, Debussy (through Durand) sent Charlot the symphonic suite Printemps instead, whose orchestration had been completed by Henri Busser in the Spring of 1912.

So, when I was offered early retirement as Professor of Music at Liverpool University in 2004, I seized the opportunity it would give me to spend time trying to reconstruct some of Debussy’s lost potential masterpieces from his existing sketches and drafts—then orchestrating them in Debussy’s style when this was appropriate. Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818280 By Stephen R Dalrymple. By Johann Sebastian Bach (piano transcription by Busoni). Arranged by Edited by Stephen R. Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Baroque,Sacred. Score. 14 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #4898545. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818280). Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the Voice commands) by JS Bach BWV 645 from Cantata BWV 140 - choral prelude for pipe organ by Johann Sebastian Bach (from Das Orgelbuchlein 1713-17) from Ten Chorale-Preludes “Transcribed for the piano in chamber style†by Ferruccio Busoni (between 1907-1909) ♫ Ferruccio Busoni (1 April 1866 – 27 July 1924) was an Italian composer, pianist, conductor, editor, writer, and teacher. His international career and reputation led him to work closely with many of the leading musicians, artists and literary figures of his time, and he was a sought-after keyboard instructor and a teacher of composition. ♫ From an early age, Busoni was an outstanding if sometimes controversial pianist. He studied at the Vienna Conservatory and then with Wilhelm Mayer and Carl Reinecke. After brief periods teaching in Helsinki, Boston, and Moscow, he devoted himself to composing, teaching, and touring as a virtuoso pianist in Europe and the United States. ♫ He began composing in his early years in a late romantic style, but after 1907, when he published his Sketch of a New Esthetic of Music, he developed a more individual style, often with elements of atonality. His visits to America led to interest in North American indigenous tribal melodies which were reflected in some of his works. His compositions include works for piano, among them a monumental Piano Concerto, and transcriptions of the works of others, notably Johann Sebastian Bach … (condensed from Wikipedia October 2022) ♫ The Classical Music for Tablet Series offers piano masterworks by classical composers formatted to be read on 10 inch tablets. I use an Amazon Kindle with Mobile Sheets Pro and an Air Turn blue tooth foot pedal to practice and perform piano music. Similar products available to provide other tablets the same functionality. ♫ The pieces in this series have not been arranged, but most have been edited slightly, and have been formatted to fit screen size. For example, in the tablet versions, first and second endings are often removed and the repeated measures and endings written into the music so the performer can avoid having to go back to previous pages. These kinds of section repeats were invented to spare the composer’s time and the cost of extra paper and ink. But with a tablet the cost of paper and ink is irrelevant. ♫ Although there are a lot more page turns with a 10 inch screen compared with letter size pages, the readability of the music (due to the backlighting on the tablet) and the portability of the music (travelling with a small tablet instead of oversized books or portfolios of sheet music) easily makes up for the extra page turns. ♫ Your purchase provides one .pdf file that contains both the tablet edition and the letter size page (printable) version. There are several programs available online that will allow you to separate this .pdf file into 2 .pdf files to make it more useful.

Piano Solo - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.988442 Composed by Carl Czerny (1791-1857). Arranged by KlavarScore. Instructional,Romantic Period. Score. 31 pages. KlavarScore #6667881. Published by KlavarScore (A0.988442). Book 1, containing the exercises 1-22 from Carl Czerny's 110 Easy and Progressive Exercices as an addition to the free Klavarscore Beyer Piano Course (See https://www.klavarscore.org). This book is in Letter/A4 format, suitable for printing, and is also available in A5 (Half Letter) format for sight-reading from a tablet or e-bookreader. In this book you will find links for free download of the audio files and KlavarScore Scrolling files, so you can play these pieces (with an appropriate app) from your cellphone, tablet or desktop PC. Perhaps not only for exercising, but also because it is such nice music to play and hear..... The Video example shown on this site is exercise No.16, the audio example is exercise No.22 Books 2, 3 and 4, each also containing 22 exercises are also available. Book 5, also containing 22 exercises will be coming soon. By practicing the exercises found in this and the remaining 4 books of this series, the student will quickly discover how Czerny must have intended these to be much more than simple exercises. As exercises, Czerny would of course want them to be meticulously practiced, revisited and improved upon, but in doing so, students will find them to be very pleasurable pieces of music to play, even for the enjoyment of an audience. These books contain instructions in Czerny's own words. Translations of Czerny's words are included in the Prefaces or in some cases as footnotes after the exercises, regarding choosing a proper tempo, the proper playing of ornaments, etc., mostly taken from Czerny's Piano School, Opus 500. In this way, Czerny himself becomes the teacher to students in need of one. Carl Czerny (1791-1857) was an Austrian composer, teacher, and pianist of Czech origin whose vast musical production amounted to over a thousand works. His books of studies for the piano are still widely used in piano teaching. He was one of Beethoven's numerous pupils, Franz Liszt was his most famous pupil. Source: Wikipedia. Élegié in E Flat Minor for solo piano (Classical Music for Tablet Series) ♫ by Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff (Opus 3.1) ♫ Rachmaninoff (born in 1873) , Russian composer, virtuoso pianist, and conductor, was considered one of the finest pianists of his day. His compositions belong to the Romantic period of music history. He graduated at the Moscow Conservatory in 1892. After the premiere of his First Symphony in 1897, the negative reaction by an important critic sent him into a tailspin of depression that lasted several years. ♫ In 1909 he performed a series of 26 performances with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in the USA. In 1914 he travelled to England for a concert tour. ♫ In February 1917 on the day the Socialist Revolution began in St Petersburg, he performed a benefit piano recital in Moscow for wounded Russian soldiers. When he returned home, he found that a group of Social Revolutionary Party members had seized his property as their own communal property. He had invested most of his earnings on the estate, but left it behind. Rachmaninoff's concert performance in Yalta on 5 September 1917 was to be his last in Russia. The chaos and tension of the October Revolution was daunting. He composed with the noise of gunshots and rallies in the background. He received an invitation to perform 10 recitals across Scandinavia. He accepted the offer, using it as an excuse to obtain permits so he and his family could flee Russia. ♫ He returned to the USA in November 1918 and America became his home. When he became an American citizen in 1943, Sergei Rachmaninoff said: “This is the only place on earth where a human being is respected for what he is and what he does, and it does not matter who he is and where he came from.†He died in March 1943 from cancer at the age of 70. (condensed from Wikipedia - October 2022) ♫ Rachmaninoff’s Opus 3 contains 5 piano pieces. The first is the Élegié in E Flat Minor, the second is the Prelude in C# Minor (one of his most famous piano compositions). This opus was finished in 1892, when he was 19 years old. The Prelude in C# Minor is loud, explosive, and declarative; the Élegié in E Flat Minor is soft, fluid, and contemplative. ♫ Edited for 10 inch tablet by Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ Sequenced by the Editor ♫ The Classical Music for Tablet Series offers piano masterworks by classical composers formatted to be read on 10 inch tablets.

Let It Be is one of my favourite songs from the Beatles. John Lennon and Paul McCartney are credited as the singer/songwriters of this beautiful ballad.

I watched the movie "Yesterday" featuring so many of the Beatles iconic songs and had this song running through my head for days afterwards. Sitting down at the piano, this arrangement came to me in a few hours. I scribbled madly to get it all down and then was discouraged when I found out that the Beatles' collection of music was NOT in our catalog of arrangeable songs! (Normally I check before I write!)

I contacted SMP Press to ask if it would be difficult to try to obtain the copyrights from Sir Paul! I was excited to see his music included in our catalog a few months later! I put the video up as a piano cover on YouTube and got a few requests for the sheet music. So glad to be able to make it available now.

This year, I've been arranging songs that I consider to be important. The popular ballad's longevity is a testament to it's importance in songwriting history.

My arrangement is written in 4/4 time, with left hand that provides the accompaniment. This is an expressive piano solo, and is a challenge to intermediate and early advanced players. The arrangement has four-note chords, some octave work, and an area where there are bass leaps in the left hand. Legato pedalling should be used throughout, with attention to careful fingering to ensure that the melody is played smoothly and expressively. The piano solo can be used as a recital piece, a solo in many different arenas or for your own private enjoyment.

If you like this arrangement, please check out my other piano solos on my publisher page. Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1040102 Composed by An-lun Huang. 20th Century,Contemporary,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Score. 140 pages. DoReMi Edition #644926. Published by DoReMi Edition (A0.1040102). One of the Masterpieces of Chinese Music of 20th Century The magnificent cave art at Dunhuang, in Western China sets the stage for the ballet, “Dream of Dunhuangâ€. In the middle of the vast wastes of Western China, lies the oasis of Dunhuang, situated in today‘s Gansu Province. Since the Western Han Dynasty(202BC-8AC), Dunhuang was an important trading and cultural center on the famous “Silk Road’, the ribbon of communication which fostered the historic ties between East and West. In the East was China, source of treasured trading articles such as silk; in the West, the â€road“ branched to Venice, and north to what is today‘s Russia. The mural led caves at Dunhuang, which were begun the Northern Wei dynasty(336AD), and developed over one thousand years into the Qing Dynasty, re presents one of the world‘s richest cultural treasures. Drawing on bothn Western(Indian and Persian) as well as Chinese tradition, the caves, of which 492 remain intact, were decorated as a mines of religious devotion, with the initiation of Buddhism into China. The subjects of the murals, such as devise, demons, apsaras and bodhisattvas, represent the entire pantheon of Buddhist mythology, yet are also significant in their representation of muti-racial and muti-cultural influences, standing as an important testament to the age old exchange between East and West. A fabricated fantasia, the story of the ballet was inspirited by the famous artist, maestro Chang Shu-hong, who dedicated his whole life to Dunhuang. One of the Huang An-lun‘s major compositions with the play written by Xu Qing-dong, the score of “Dream of Dunhuang†was completed in mid-1979. The ballet has been dedicated to the composer‘s closest friends, Canadian writers John Fraser and Elizabeth MacCallun. Up to the date this CD being released, the ballet has never got a chance to performed in mainland China. Nevertheless, its music has been wildly performed and warmly received around the world. The Singapore premiere of its suite No.1 was performed by the SSO, conducted by Maestro Lim Yao. It has been also chosen as one of the “Master Piece of Chinese Music in 20th Century†in 1993. The world premiere of the complete ballet was performed successfully by the Russian State Ballet of Moscow, directed by its artist director, Vyatcheslav Godeyev, in 1994. Choreographed by Chen Min, it was took place in Taiwan with the Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, conducted by maestro David C.H.Chen. In 2002, ROI of Hong Kong has released the CD of the whole ballet, performed by the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra of Moscow. This is also the audio file attached. Before this recording conducted by the composer himself, the entire score was also performed by the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra of Moscow in1995. The YouTube video was the World Premiere in Taiwan by the Russia National Ballet with the Taiwan symphony Orchestra, conducted by David Chen in 1994. The ballet, “ Dream of Dunhuang†depicts two young artists seeking the ultimate experience in love and expression. This two lovers arrived at desert and with the guidance of the celestial maiden, they discover the miracles of Dunhuang. It‘s divided into three acts: Act I: Desert, Act II: Cave, and Act III: Mogao cave.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.958601 Composed by Casey Crosby. 20th Century,Celtic,Contemporary,New Age. Score. 5 pages. Casey Crosby #4320309. Published by Casey Crosby (A0.958601). This solo piano song is from Casey Crosby's album November. The album is a personal collection of memories and landscapes of Casey growing up in the Blue Ridge Mountain region of Northern Virginia and a small farming community in rural Upstate New York. The songs are images and observations of Casey's personal experiences of autumn, particularly November. It was a common event between Casey and his older brother to try to capture fireflies in glass jars as the sun set. Being only 4 or 5 years old, you can imagine how magical it must have been for a young boy to see his brother catch these flying creatures in a jar and stare in wonder at how they lit up the night. Sometimes his brother let Casey carry the jar through the forrest before letting them go free. Sometimes Casey got lucky and caught his own and his brother then would exaggerate his level of skill and stealth and hunting technique to their parents on arriving home. It’s the first time Casey remembers feeling a sense of accomplishment. The magical wonder of creation and nature and the eternal bond between brothers – both so easily taken for granted and yet both so easily lost. Surely on Smith Mountain road, Lynchburg, Virginia, even now, those fireflies are putting on their show for free to an enraptured child. The song Chasing Fireflies is about this memory of Casey. Reviewers say that the nostalgic yet hopeful song perfectly captures the flying fireflies and the innocence of a time long since passed.
