Here is the full piano vocal version of “The Leaves Around Me Fallingâ€, as heard on my YouTube channel and in many comforting, beautiful funeral playlists. This version is in A minor to suit singers with higher voices [the melody extends from D4-D5 for a comfortable soprano range], and has the exact piano accompaniment as well as full melody and lyrics for a soloist or choir. It works well as a solo or congregational song for any autumn or funeral service, featuring the meaningful lyrics of Henry Francis Lyte reminding us of the swiftness of this life, and the hope we have for the life beyond. Also included at the end of the file is a separate printout of both the piano and vocal parts separately for ease of practice and rehearsal.The original hymn was very beautiful but I thought a minor setting would be more fitting for the solemn lyrics, so I wrote an entirely new melody and harmonic arrangement, which can be found on all streaming platforms as well as Youtube, where lyric videos of this and other songs are readily available for church or personal use. Not just a hymn for September and October, I've found myself going back to this song often, as it captures the rich beauty and yet sadness of the autumn season, and still somehow brings comfort amidst the fast-changing seasons of the earth and of our lives. Originally titled “See How Brown Autumn Spreads the Fieldsâ€, this song is so rare that I couldn’t find any music for it online, and therefore wrote a new melody and accompaniment for it that captures the the solemnity and anguish of the lyrics. It’s one of the songs of harvest off of my album entitled “Hymns of Autumnâ€, but doesn’t talk about harvest in the traditional sense we normally sing about these days.Not many talk about the judgement of God in today’s church, and this hymn will send chills down the spine of the most devout believer as we realize the full spectrum of God's character, including His wrath and power on Judgement Day. I found this in an old hymnal that was so old that the “Sâ€s were still written as “Fâ€s, and I had to squint to read it while learning to sing for this recording. I hope this ancient and powerful hymn finds a place to minister to today's church and believers around the world, perhaps after a sermon on God’s judgement, or for a Lent or Advent service about repentance and turning to God, both individually and as a nation.This version is in B Minor to match the original recording, and includes the full piano accompaniment as played in the recording. Also available, by searching Stacey Plays Hymns and the song title on this site is a lead sheet version for those who prefer to play off a chart.For other formats including large print, or extended choral harmony versions, please write me at staceyplayshymns@gmail.com and I'll be glad to make them especially for you. They thought that by killing Him they would be in control of the people. They had no idea that they were fulfilling the prophecy that they would kill their own God. They gave Him the opportunity to use His power over death to redeem all mankind. His end truly was His beginning. By dying he was living the life He had planned.

It works well as a solo or congregational song for any autumn or funeral service, featuring the meaningful lyrics of Henry Francis Lyte reminding us of the swiftness of this life, and the hope we have for the life beyond. Http://www.HenryMollicone.com Derri-air, a ragtime song for baritone and piano, was written during the production of the new feature-length documentary film, THE FACE ON THE BARROOM FLOOR- The Poem, the Place, the opera. The Face on the Barroom Floor refers to the famous picture painted on the floor of the Teller House Bar in Central City, Colorado (inspired by the poem by D’Arcy), and the opera I composed to John S. Bowman’s libretto in 1978, which was performed every season in Central City for 33 years, and continues to be my most performed opera. Film producer Lawrence Kraman found on the internet a poem which tells a similar story of another woman whose backside (clothed in a can can dress) was painted on the ceiling in a bar a few blocks away.
