Small Ensemble Bells,Boomwhackers,Handbell,Handchime,Orff Instrument,Voice,Xylophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565974 By Sharon Wilson. By Traditional. Arranged by Sharon Wilson Music. Children,Folk,Multicultural,Sacred,Traditional,World. Score and parts. 39 pages. Sharon Wilson #6610515. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565974). NOTE: This song has some tricky rhythms and may take beginners longer to learn and master. Those with a little music experience will probably have an easier time learning this arrangement and have a lot of fun with the unique rhythms. For beginning musicians or for introducing new players to Handbells and Boomwhackers®, I recommend starting with an easy song which uses only quarter notes and rests in the score such as God Is So Good for 8-note Bells and Boomwhackers®. SWThis sheet music is notated for 13-note (one octave, C to C chromatic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. Included in this set of scores is a combined score with both instrument parts on a grand staff plus a separate score for each instrument. A note and chord reference chart is also provided. To aid in the learning and teaching of this song or for use with other instruments (such as a Ukulele), chord names are included on the Boomwhackers® staff and score. Lyrics are provided on the grand staff for sing along enjoyment or when using this arrangement as the accompaniment for a unison choir. In addition, a complete set of scores for 4 ringers and 4 whackers is provided. Though there are multiple combinations for the number of ringers and whackers needed for any given performance, this extra set of scores is specifically designed for 8 performers with 2 or 3 notes assigned to each player. For each ringer and whacker, the 1-staff score shows only the notes they are assigned. This alternate score format may be easier to sight-read since the only notes on the staff are the assigned notes allowing the player to focus on rhythm.

The Snowdrift Galop (or is it Jingle Bells?) - Saxophone Quartet

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1329389 By Hugh Levey. By Charles Coote Jnr. Arranged by Hugh Levey. 19th Century,Chamber,Children,Christmas,Holiday. 23 pages. Woodwindly.com #917372. Published by woodwindly.com (A0.1329389). Sax Quartet (SATB or AATB)Looking for some familiar, yet very different Christmas Music? Look no further than the Snowdrift Galop written by British composer, Charles Coote Jnr. It starts off just like Jingle Bells - and the Jingle Bells theme keeps coming back, but is it actually Jingle Bells? It also has a march-like theme and a lovely Trio section. All players get to play important melodic material in this arrangement.Snowdrift Galop was published in London in 1868 in a small collection of works by various composers. The opening theme is immediately recognisable as the popular holiday favourite, Jingle Bells, which was published 11 years earlier, yet the composer gives no reference or credit to the earlier work. Although the opening soprano sax theme is the same as Jingle Bells, we get a stately march instead of the familiar Jingle Bells chorus. A lovely Trio introduces another new tune which is played by tenor, then baritone sax, before returning to the opening section on Alto.Charles Coote Jnr (1831-1916) was a prolific English composer of popular music, including quadrilles, waltzes and galops. His music was written for society balls and subsequently published for piano, so that others could play them at local dances or in their ownhomes. He was the son of composer and bandmaster, Charles Coote (1809-1880). Coote Snr worked for the 6th Duke of Devonshire for 30 years, conducted his private orchestra, and was referred to by the Duke as his personal pianist. Growing up in this environment would have ensured that Coote Jnr was well connected with British society.Duration - 4 minutes.

Arranged by Frits Renting. Film/TV. 35 pages. Frits_Renting #879651. Published by Frits_Renting (A0.1288799). Side note: This version is for small/medium percussion ensemblesEN:This composition was written for one of the parts of the D exam by Frits Renting. The starting point of the composition was: film music. Inspired by well-known works by Hans Zimmer, Brian Tyler, John Williams and works by De Efteling. The composition starts in a fairly small composition in which, with the help of crescendos and several instruments, it works towards a strong, but above all open and cheerful part. This is followed by a short untuned percussion solo. After this, theme A is closed in a calm, non-violent manner. Immediately theme B comes in which is built up through crescendos and multiple instruments over time. Theme B also comes to a quiet end afterwards. After this theme A and B return at the same time, which builds up and closes in a grandiose way.NL:Deze compositie is geschreven voor één van de onderdelen van het D examen van Frits Renting.

Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.532890). Starting from James Pierpont’s classic holiday song, this piece is a irreverental set of five variations which present the well-known in several unusual contexts: an exotic dance in a South American style, a Yiddish Waltz, a burlesque number which features a quartet of soloists. After a much more tame “Chorale-Préludeâ€, the fughetta on the verse (“Dashing Through the Snowâ€) leads to a finial exposition of the theme in a Toccata style. Small Ensemble Flute,Orff Instrument,Soprano Recorder - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.898946 Composed by James Pierpont. Arranged by Deborah Sutin Fitts. Children,Christmas,Instructional,Standards. Score and parts. 1 pages. Deborah Sutin Fitts #3690399. Published by Deborah Sutin Fitts (A0.898946). All kids want to play Jingle Bells and learning it should not add to the stress of the Holidays! I designed this for a thrid grade classroom that needed to learn it in two weeks. Even kids that only get classroom music once a week, can take this home and play for Mom and Dad. Make this the first song they really play by themselves! This reproducible one page version of the famous chorus by James Pierpont has large-note Alpha-Note printing, is in the key of G and starts on B. For recorders this means fingering with only one hand, it is also usable for school xylophone and Orff instruments, keyboards, flutes, (although a beginning flutist would have to go over the break for notes C and D). If you would like to contact me for a transposition to another instrument, I can be reached at Sunshinenotes@Gmail.com. I am entering this in the 2018 Holliday Arranging Contest because I believe that simplicity is sometimes exactly what is needed.

Published by Paul Burnell (A0.835770). Processional piece for ensemble with handbellsDuration 7:30 approximately Instrumentation: - small drum - 2 cellos - handbells (chromatic set of 13, c-c) 11 players - one doubling accordion (or similar instrument), others doubling handheld percussion, timpani- group of wind/brass players, voices (no set instrumentation) at least 3 performers, bass drum - Optional: bottles, other accordions, melodicas, organ etc. ‘Aim Straight for Starlight’ is a processional piece that symbolises the movement of life from Earth into the wider Universe. The piece is 'modular' in the sense that different elements may be omitted. It could be performed by handbells only, or without the band. The handbells music is available as a piano part - the pianist could perform at the same time as the handbells. If the performers do not include voices, then some attempt should be made to present the text of the band ‘melody’: either in the concert programme, or as a spoken introduction.

Small Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.540713 Composed by Therese Brenet. Contemporary,New Age. Score and parts. 36 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #62099. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.540713). The composer writes : This work was premièred on April 27, 2003 at the Eglise Saint-Roch in Paris with the prestigious Orchestre de la Musique de L’Armée de L’Air, under the direction of my friend and colleague, Claude Picheraureau. I have always been fascinated by the beauty of the Cosmos, which has inspired many of my works. Feelings of infinite movement can be expressed musically and it seemed to me that one of the ways to do this was to end this work on a repeated phrase played in a long perdendosi, to give the impression that one is hearing the echoes of the finished phrase as the instruments stop playing. I had just started to write this work when I received a note for the Paris Observatory which gave me the news that the astronomical community had decided to name a newly discovered asteroid for Jean-Pierre Luminet. When I wrote to Jean-Pierre to congratulate him on this honour, reminding him with the Petit Prince that not everyone has their own star, I asked him if he would accept that I name this work for concert band with the full name of his asteroid: 5523 Luminet 1991 PH8. Jean-Pierre accepted my proposition by return letter : ..., not only do I not have any objection, but I would be very honoured. To be in the celestial spheres in the form of a rock and also in the form of music, what more could one ask for? The work is scored for : Piccolo 2 Flûtes/2 Flutes 2 Hautbois/2 Oboes Cor Anglais/English Horn 2 Bassons/2 Bassoons Contrebasson/Contrabassoon Petite Clarinette en Mib/Eb Clarinet 1ers Clarinettes en Sib/1st Bb Clarinets : 2mes Clarinettes en Sib/2nd Bb Clarinets Clarinette Basse/Bass Clarinet 1er Saxophone Alto en Mib/1st Eb Alto Saxophone 2me Saxophone Alto en Mib/2nd Eb Alto Saxophone Saxophone Ténor en Sib/Bb Tenor Saxophone Saxophone Baryton en Mib/Eb Baritone Saxophone 4 Cors en fa/4 F Horns 2 trompettes en Sib/2 Bb Trumpets 2 cornets en Sib/2 Bb Cornets 2 Trombones Ténors/2 Tenor Trombones Trombone Basse/Bass Trombone Euphonium Tuba en Ut/Tuba in C Contrebasse à cordes/String Bass Harpe/Harp Timbales/Tympani Percussion I : Marimba Cloches en Tube/Tubular Bells &wRt Grosse Caisse/Bass Drum = G.C Tambour/Field Drum = Tamb. Published by Bandroom.com Publications (A0.859769). __________________________LAST NIGHT - arranged for pep band, basketball band, jazz combo, small jazz ensemble__________________________Great for pre/post-game, 60-second timeouts, or a quick half-time number, LAST NIGHT climbed to #3 on the Billboard Chart in 1961. An easy blend of R&B and rock, this tune is insanely easy (hence the low price), using only 3 different notes! You can make it even more fun by adding easy choreography for the winds - start with bells down, slowly rise during the crescendo, then alternate bells left, then right for each repeated measure. This 54-second arrangement has an easy key and the well-marked rehearsal numbers reduce the amount of time needed in rehearsal.Parts are formatted to fit in a flip-folder, but print on letter-sized paper if you prefer to use 3-ring binders._______________________The highly-flexible BcP-Flex scoring imitates the classic rock band sound by using only 4 instruments/voices - lead, rhythm, bass, and drums:Lead: Flute, Clarinets, Alto Sax, Trumpets (note: for this piece, everyone except bass line has a unison lead/rhythm part)Rhythm: Trombone, Horn, TC Baritone, Tenor Sax (note: for this piece, everyone except bass line has a unison lead/rhythm part)Bass: Electric Bass, Tuba, Bari SaxDrums: This arrangement includes a written drum set part, but it is often easier to get the drummer to pick-up the tune by listening to the chart._______________________To see these other high-energy titles in this series, click www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=bcp-flex Barbara Ann (Beach Boys)Blitzkrieg Bop (Ramones)Blues Brothers Riff (I Can’t Turn You Loose - Otis Redding)Come & Get It (Selena Gomez)Grazing in the Grass (Hugh Masekela)Hey! Isadar’s In Search For the Meaning of Christmas definitely falls into this category! Thoughtful, introspective, and a bit moody, Isadar’s arrangements are true to the carols (with some small melody changes in “Bring a Torch” and “Carol of the Bells” that bother me just a little) and still seem very personal. “Bring a Torch”, “The Holly and the Ivy”, and “I Saw Three Ships” are given a lighthearted, joyful treatment. “Star of Wonder (We Three Kings)”, “What Child Is This?”, “The Coventry Carol”, and “Sing We Now of Christmas” are all minor, somber, reverent pieces, and all four are given loving arrangements that keep the dark, mysterious nature of the songs and reflect Isadar’s own sensibilities. “Carol of the Bells” and Isadar's take on Liz Story’s arrangement of “Greensleeves” are energetic without losing all abandon. “Silent Night” and “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear” present us with a very cold, deep solitude - both feel like late night with moonlight reflecting off the snow. Both are moody, but very beautifully so. George Winston’s “December” is one of my all-time favorite holiday albums, and I feel In Search For the Meaning of Christmas holds up exceptionally well next to it. This is an excellent collection of Christmas music, and I highly recommend it!<br> <br> In Search For the Meaning of Christmas is the companion songbook to Isadar’s 1999 solo piano release by the same name. Meticulously transcribed note-for-note by David Shenton of New York Music Publishing, the music is faithful to the recording in every way (except for the pianist - YOU!). The scores are clear, concise, and easy to read, and also include chord indications for improvisation or the use of instruments other than or in addition to the piano. Isadar’s arrangements cover a whole range of emotions, from very dark and somber to joyful and buoyant. All of the pieces from the CD are here, including Isadar’s homage to Liz Story and her beautiful version of “Greensleeves.” My personal favorites of the eleven songs in this book are the bright and cheerful “Bring A Torch,” “What Child Is This?”, “Greensleeves,” the darkly gorgeous “The Coventry Carol,” and “Sing We Now of Christmas.” Other titles that I really like are “Children Go Where I Send Thee/The Holly and the Ivy,” “Star of Wonder (We Three Kings)," “Carol of the Bells,” and the effervescent “Three Ships.” “Silent” (Silent Night) and “Midnight” (It Came Upon a Midnight Clear) are a bit too dark for my own holiday tastes, but are interesting and very personal arrangements. This book will make a great addition to your holiday sheet music collection and is available from isadar.com and amazon.com.<br> <br> Isadar is an artist on both Enlightened Piano Radio & Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, the latter featuring some of today's biggest names in solo piano music, including Ludovico Einaudi, David Nevue, Brian Crain, Kevin Kern, Robin Spielberg, Michele McLaughlin, Philip Wesley and over 300 more...<br> <br> Also available as sheet music in physical songbooks, digital downloads, as well as software for Yamaha Disklavier player-pianos.Contains:<br> "Carol Of The Bells"<br> - taken from the Isadar solo piano collection, "In Search For The Meaning Of Christmas"<br> <br> Sounds like: Liz Story, George Winston, early Windham Hill solo piano artists, "A Winter's Solstice" compilations.<br> <br> Transcribed by: David Shenton ( https://www.shentonmusic.com/ ) verbatim to the sound recording<br> <br> Album & Songbook review by: Kathy Parsons (MainlyPiano.com):<br> <br> I have discovered a real wealth of great solo piano Christmas CDs this year! This book will make a great addition to your holiday sheet music collection and is available from isadar.com and amazon.com.<br> <br> Isadar is an artist on both Enlightened Piano Radio & Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, the latter featuring some of today's biggest names in solo piano music, including Ludovico Einaudi, David Nevue, Brian Crain, Kevin Kern, Robin Spielberg, Michele McLaughlin, Philip Wesley and over 300 more...<br> <br> Also available as sheet music in physical songbooks, digital downloads, as well as software for Yamaha Disklavier player-pianos.

Choral Choir,Choral,SATB Chorus - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1496732 Composed by PERSONENT HODIE from the Piae Cantones, 1583. Arranged by Ken Litton. 20th Century,Advent,Christian,Christmas,Sacred. 19 pages. Artist of Note, Inc. #1073248. Published by Artist of Note, Inc. (A0.1496732). Jazz Hodie (On this Day Earth Shall Ring)PERSONENT HODIE arr. Ken Litton (ASCAP) Those who have the good fortunate to hear Gustav Holst’s arrangement of PERSONENT HODIE as a choral processional with its engaging melody, measured gait and echoed text have never forgotten the magical moment—and were never really ready for it to end. Hailing from the The Oxford Book of Carols this German plainsong melody—from the Piae Cantones, 1583—has made its way into strong choral and worship traditions at Advent/Christmas.Of all the current texts and arrangements available, this version honors Holst’s unison accompanied setting in an unexpected subtle jazz styling, with the hope of bringing additional range to its established place in advent literature (both in terms of style and in appeal to a variety of age groups). And, On This Day Earth Shall Ring, translated by Jane M. Joseph (text in the public domain) gives it just the traditional touch needed for Jazz Hodie (On this Day). This SATB setting of the tune offers accompaniment designed for piano or organ, optional acoustic/string bass and an optional part for a single player involving three of the percussionist section best friends in the : the suspended cymbal, mallets (vibraphone, marimba or bells or bell lyre), and a small triangle. It should be noted that an electronic piano/synthesizer voice could substitute well for the mallets and the use of handbells is also viable. Perfect for Lessons & Carols presentations! The unison singing and bell-tone echoes of the first stanza/refrain soon give way to smooth, contrasting jazz harmony. The choral ranges are very much within the reach of the average choir and the voicings vary from unison to three and four parts, followed by a return to the character of the opening. The piece builds toward a close with a choral ascent in the final bars and a bass line reminiscent of the first verse, but with an extra jazz twist. But, it can easily be restarted for processional use by simply dropping back into the C minor introduction’s bass line. Note: the String Bass/Electric Bass part is included! Also available in a Hymn Sheet Version that includes everything needed for a small ensembe and/or the worshiping congregation. All this from the places you go for the best in downloadable resources:Sheet Music Direct Sheet Music Plus As well as via Hal Leonard InStore™ retailers. Also…be sure to check out other titles from East of the Altar/Artist of Note, Inc.Thanks, as always to the good folks at ArrangeMe.com, a division of Hal Leonard.

Small Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533673 Composed by Carson Cooman. Contemporary,Sacred. Score and parts. 134 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3037307. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533673). Symphony No. 3, “Ave Maris Stella†(2005) was written for the Duquesne ContemporaryEnsemble and is dedicated to composer David Stock. Throughout his career, Stock has beena tireless and generous advocate on behalf of new music and living composers. This work isdedicated to him in tribute – as both an important American composer and a significantcontributor to America’s contemporary musical life. The work’s basic source material is the plainchant Ave maris stella (“Hail, star of the seaâ€) –appropriate because of Duquesne’s standing and history as a Catholic university. When thecomposition of this work first began, the original plan was for a celebratory and vibrant piece. As the planning progressed, however, personal circumstances intervened and began to changethe work’s tone – becoming substantially bleaker and more obsessive. The title of the first movement, Pentimento, is defined as “an underlying image in a painting,as an earlier painting, that shows through when the top layer of paint has become transparentwith age.†The melodic and harmonic material for the movement is entirely drawn from theplainchant source, although it is completely transformed and covered up – as in a pentimento. At various points, one can begin to hear the original plainchant “peek out†in subtle ways. The opening section of the movement obsesses again and again on what sounds like a“beginning†– as though it is trying to begin again and again. After a brief bassoon cadenza, afast and driving section starts, marked “sinister.†After driving through a series oftransformations on the plainchant material, a bridge passage leads to further attempts at the“beginning†again. Finally, these attempts are given up, and the plainchant material (theunderlying layer) begins to show through quietly – in preparation for the next movement. In the second movement, Interrupted Motet, the plainchant theme is used in a morestraightforward fashion. After the opening declamatory statements, the following sectionsmove between more free developmental techniques, based on the first movement’stransformations, and “motet†sections – using cantus firmus methods and textures fromRenaissance music. The tone and palate is, however, much darker and more obsessive. There is a brooding ponderousness to these contrapuntal developments. The final motetsection ends in a rageful shout, the plainchant material is presented again in full force, and thepent-up energy dissipates to the close.FluteOboeClarinet in BbBass Clarinet in BbBassoonHorn in F/BbTrumpet in CTrombonePercussion (1 player):tubular bells, vibraphone(Percussionist needs one rosined bow for vibraphone.)PianoViolin IViolin IIViolaCelloContrabass(single strings)This is the complete set of parts. Film/TV. 51 pages. Frits_Renting #866319. Published by Frits_Renting (A0.1274188). Side note: This version is for medium/big percussion ensemblesEN:This composition was written for one of the parts of the D exam by Frits Renting.

Soprano and ensemble - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q52963 (In the Alps - an animated concert). Composed by Richard Ayres. This edition: study score. Music Of Our Time. Downloadable, Study score. Duration 45 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q52963. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q52963). English.No.42 (In the Alps) could perhaps best be described as a melodrama. It combines many of the subjects that fascinate me: the relationship of text narrative and musical narrative, the history of opera, early cinema, the theatrical practices of the nineteenth century, along with the folk and popular music of the Alpine region. A girl (the soprano), stranded on top of an un-climbable mountain peak as a young baby, is taught to sing by the mountain animals. Young Bobli lives in the village far below the un-climbable peak. He was born mute and communicates with the world by playing the trumpet. Bobli hears the soprano's song drifting down into the valley. The soprano listens to Bobli's trumpet tunes blown up to her by the wind. They are both enchanted. The three acts are separated by interludes describing how three animals experience time passing in relation to a musical tempo. Like any self respecting melodrama the text and music combine to depict or imply a wide ranging theatrical adventure, in this piece starting at the Creation (or the big bang), a lonely existence, scenes of rustic village life, some carpentry, many mountain goats, unrequited love, and ending in a quest destined to fail. In a live performance the text [provided with the performance material] is to be projected on a screen behind the musicians in the style of silent movie intertitles. Small Ensemble Percussion,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.890710 Composed by John Pitts. Celtic,Contemporary,Folk,World. Score and parts. 204 pages. Intensely Pleasant Music #3424709. Published by Intensely Pleasant Music (A0.890710). Gaelic Faram (Jig in Kiev) for 2 pianos and 2 percussionists - 15 minutes. SCORE & PARTS Designed as a companion piece for Bartok’s famous Sonata for 2 pianos and percussion, Gaelic Faram (Jig in Kiev) was composed for the Kiev Piano Duo (Oleksandra Zaytseva and Dmytro Tavanets) and percussionists Dmytro Ulyanov and Yevhen Ulyanov for the final concert of the Kiev Chamber Music Session Festival 2012. Fully revised 2016. This is a note-filled, virtuosic piece inspired by British folksong, and includes adaptations of the Dargason jig and the reel Mary Mack, and starts with an attempt to capture some of the ornamented and decorated melody lines typical of Scottish bagpipes. The percussion is either designed to be set out in 4 groups that the performers move between, or if enough percussion is available for each percussionist to have their own (eg: tubular bells, xylophone, drum kit), then they can be set out in two groups, as in the pictures below. [In this 2016 revision, Percussionist II also uses one timp.][Also available: Scene from Gaelic Faram (Jig in Kiev) - a new arrangement of a 6-minute scene from the full 15-minute piece, just for 2 pianos, was made in 2016 for the Australian Piano Duo (Vicky Yang & Maggie Chen).]
