Baritone Saxophone,Piano - Level 1 - SKU: A0.548692 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Easter,Standards. Score and part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3411133. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548692). A Baritone Sax Christmas/Easter classic! Duration: 4:55 Score: 3 pg. Baritone Sax part: 1 pg. Piano reads from the score. Schubert seems to have composed this piece as a song-setting. This is because he wanted to portray a poignant emotional event from a poem. The poem was Walter Scott's The Lady of the Lake. Consequently, this song became an integral part of Schubert's Song cycle. Therefore the cycle is called: the Lady of the Lake. In the poem, Ellen Douglas is the Lady of the Lake. The lake is probably Loch Katrine in the Scottish Highlands. First of all, Ellen goes with her father to stay in the Goblin's cave. They go because he earlier refused to join in a rebellion against King James. Roderick Dhu, the chief of the rebellious Alpine Clan, marches up the mountain with his army. But before the battle, he, first of all, hears Ellen singing. She is singing a prayer calling for help from the Virgin Mary. Schubert's piece was first performed at the castle of Countess Sophie Weissenwolff in Steyregg, Austria.  Schubert dedicated the arrangement to her, and as a result, she became famous as the lady of the lake. The incipit of Ellen's song is Ave Maria which is Latin for Hail Mary. It seems like this similarity led Schubert to adapt the melody to accommodate the Roman Catholic prayer Ave Maria. Consequently, the Latin version of Ave Maria finally became more famous than the original so that consequently many believe he wrote the Latin version first. Schubert Franz Schubert (1797–1828) was, in fact, a famous Austrian composer. Moreover, he composed during the late Classical and early Romantic periods. Schubert was comparatively prolific. He wrote more than 600 secular vocal works, seven symphonies, and, correspondingly, a massive amount of piano and chamber music. Critics agree, as a matter of fact, that his most famous works include his Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667 (also known as the Trout Quintet), the Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D. 759 (Unfinished Symphony), the last sonatas for piano (D. 958–960), and the song cycles Die schöne Müllerin (D. 795) and Winterreise (D. 911). Education Schubert was furthermore a musical child prodigy. He studied violin with his father as well as piano with his older brother. In addition, when Schubert was eleven he studied at Stadtkonvikt school, where he became familiar with the orchestral music of Haydn, Mozart, and likewise Beethoven. In due time he left school and returned home where he studied to become an educator; nevertheless, he continued studying composition with Antonio Salieri. Performance Eventually, Schubert was admitted to the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde as a performer. This appointment straightaway established his name in Vienna as a composer and pianist. Finally, he gave his only composition recital in 1828. He died suddenly a few months later probably due to typhoid fever. Legacy Schubert’s music was by and large underappreciated while he was alive. There were all in all only a few enthusiasts in Vienna. After he died, however, interest in his work in fact increased. Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms and other famous composers in due time discovered his compositions. Nowadays, historians rank Schubert expressly among the greatest composers of the era, and his music remains in general very popular.

Baritone Saxophone,Piano - Level 2 - SKU: A0.549018 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Holiday,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 10 pages. Jmsgu3 #3447449. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549018). Baritone Sax version of Moment Musicaux, Op. 94 (D. 780) No. 3 by Franz Schubert, published in 1828. Duration: 1:53 Score 6 pg. 54 ms. Bari Sax 1 pg. Piano part 3 pg. One of Schubert's most well-known pieces. This is an effective recital encore due to its brevity and range of expression. Could work well for a variety of occasions: wedding receptions, church services (Easter), and anniversaries. It seems like a pleasant dance, unlike some previous dance music. Schubert improvised these dances at parties for his friends.  Although conceived on-the-fly, these dances are the work of a genius. Composers have similarly elevated dance music to artistic status. As a result, they freed it from the original purpose of dancing. Certainly, the older masters used the dance forms as vehicles for complex treatments. Here, however, Schubert retains the dance-like quality while finally expressing his innermost thoughts and emotions. The dance is certainly filled with a doleful expression, yet the texture remains even more light and refined. Therefore, to perform these with sensitivity we probably need to use a light but accurate touch. The accompaniment pattern needs to be crisp and delicate – probably even in the more forceful parts. The piano pedal should also be used very carefully so as a result not to blur the outline. Instead, it should contribute to the dynamic quality of the piece. Published by Ulrich Lehensteiner (A0.1494204). Remember What Is Lost, being the finale of the Remember-Waltzes, recapitulates all the previous waltzes' themes, slowly restoring them one by one and interweaving them with an original theme before coming to a grandiose, concert-like conclusion. Musically demonstrating how precious memories are (after maybe even having been forgotten for some time) still remembered after many years, the cycle ends on a positive and hopeful note. The Remember-Waltzes are a collection of seven waltz-like pieces for piano four hands, depicting the memories of various relatable scenes of a person's everyday-life, like the fervour of a determined loved one, the sereneness of a warm summer-day or the emotional rush of an ecstatic experience. Memories some would like to experience, some might actually have experienced.A musical reminder of times fondly remembered, but also of the feeling of how even those precious moments might grow pale over time, and how we still remember them fondly, but differently after the many years that might have passed since then.Contains score + parts.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1189545 By Brian Golden. By Brian Golden. Arranged by Brian Golden. Classical,Contemporary. Score. 3 pages. Brian Golden #789177. Published by Brian Golden (A0.1189545). Prelude 1 in C Major Ionian from 24 Preludes for the Piano in Major and Minor Modes by composer Brian Golden.  The creative concept in writing these preludes is to provide a link to past preludes written for the keyboard, and in particular to the works of J.S. Bach and Frederic Chopin, whose works stand as essential repertoire for any student of the piano.  Using Bach’s and Chopin’s examples, my goal was to compose in all twenty-four keys, yet offer my own variation on the progression of key signatures – Bach’s being a pattern of major to parallel minor progressing chromatically through all keys, and Chopin’s a pattern of major to relative minor keys progressing clockwise through the circle of fifths.  In order to expand my harmonic and melodic possibilities, I have included the modal keys rather than only the major and harmonic minor keys, and have chosen to work counterclockwise through the circle of fifths, which is a more natural harmonic progression.  Therefore, all major preludes resolve from one to another V-I, as well as do all the minor preludes.  While there are seven modal scales, I decided to leave out the locrian modes for the following reasons.  First, due to the diminished fifth, the locrian mode cannot be thought of as either major nor minor.  Second, the locrian mode did not have a relative key to pair with, since there were no other keys with the identical characteristic notes.  In creating the key architecture, I determined that there was only one solution to pairing major and relative minor scales based on a shared parent key and characteristic note - ionian/aolian, mixolydian/phrygian and lydian/dorian.  This specific order of modal scales is the only order that would enable composing in all twelve key signatures.  Finally, the inspiration for each prelude came from playing through several other preludes in the same keys - mostly by Bach and Chopin - and letting their themes and styles influence me in the writing of my own.

Rome's Pantheon, based on Greek mythical legends was first constructed over 2,000 years ago as a temple of all the gods. In the year 609, it became a Catholic church.Pantheon for Violin, Horn, and Piano by the great Canadian composer Elizabeth Raum is a seven-movement suite of chamber music depicting various of the Greek gods:1. Eos: Goddess of the Dawn2. Moirae: Gods of Fate3. Aphrodite: Goddess of Love and Beauty4. Zeus and Hera5. Artemis (Diana) Goddess of the Moon and the Hunt6. Hermes (Mercury) of the Winged Sandals7. Apollo: God of Sun and LightHere are the comments about Pantheon from composer Elizabeth Raum:Pantheon alludes to a temple, a musical temple in this case, devoted to the gods of ancient Greek mythology, several of whom are represented in this work. The first movement opens with a horn call as Eos, Goddess of the Dawn begins her rosy-fingered awakening, and rising from her couch, ascends the heavens in her horse-drawn chariot. She heralds the approach of her brother, Helius, the sun god, whose superior brightness causes her color to fade. In the second movement, The Fates (Moirae) spin their thread of life and death. The minimalist quality of the music, representing the steady turn of the spindle, becomes more and more agitated as Atropos, the Fate who holds the shears, prepares to cut the thread. The hand stopped horn and the Bartok pizzicato signify the final snip. A moment of contemplation, and they begin again. Some try to persuade Atropos to delay a moment, but she cannot be deterred. Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, is the third movement. She arose from the foam of the sea and all were charmed by her grace, but she could also be coy and flirtatious as she is in this version. Zeus and Hera, the king and queen of the gods, make up the fourth movement. The opening theme suggests the regal stride of Zeus while Hera, furious at his many infidelities, quarrels with him and schemes to thwart his affairs. In the fifth movement, Artemis (Dawn Goddess of the Moon and the Hunt), holds high her silver bow that gleams in the night sky like the new moon. The clouds drift silently past while she runs with her hounds and dances with her nymphs. Hermes (Mercury) of the Winged Sandals, sixth movement, is scored for violin and horn alone. He is a very mischievous and cunning god, and his exceptional swiftness is aided by his winged sandals as he flies to carry out his divine duties. And finally in the seventh movement, Apollo the horn again summons the gods. A hymn to Apollo celebrates the god of eternal youth, beauty, and music. This is a major chamber work for Violin, Horn, and Piano of about 26 minutes in length written for Erika Raum, Phil Myers, and Peter Allen and is appropriate for very advanced artists.

Remember Oblivion, being a contradiction in itself and the crucial point of the Remember-Waltzes' structure, describes the moment in life when precious memories start to fade. Featuring two highly contrasting and heavily clashing themes, the waltz, just like the memories, ultimately ominously fades out as well. Memories some would like to experience, some might actually have experienced.A musical reminder of times fondly remembered, but also of the feeling of how even those precious moments might grow pale over time, and how we still remember them fondly, but differently after the many years that might have passed since then.Contains score + parts

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - SKU: A0.926664 Composed by Michael A. Morizio. A Cappella,Christian,Sacred. Octavo. 8 pages. M.A. Morizio #3588427. Published by M.A. Morizio (A0.926664). The Apostle John’s visions in Revelation are nothing less than astounding to all readers. However, little is it known that another Hymn to Christ is neatly tucked into the very first seven verses of this last book of the Bible. John begins his Revelation (verses 1-3) with a prelude, introducing Jesus Christ and the apocalypse (revelation) that was made to him via the angel sent to describe all the things about which he was to write. He says, Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and keep what is written in it, for the time is near. After this short prelude, John delivers an epistolary opening (a greeting identifying the author and recipients), then pronounces a blessing upon the recipients-verses 4-6. After both the prelude and the opening, John immediately proceeds to another known Hymn to Christ, in verse 7, which I have called, Behold He Is Coming. When presented with the text in Revelation 1:7, I immediately thought, Where is the Gospel, the good news, in this piece? After several minutes of meditating on the text, I realized the Gospel message was right there in front of me-in the very last line: Yes, so be it [Lord], so be it, [Amen!] There will be peace! All will be known. Every single person will understand, at that point. The end, is the ushering in of a new beginning. The piece is scored in G minor for SATB with flute and Bâ™ clarinet accompaniment. In the opening phrase, we hear the clarinet on a sustained high (concert) G, which crescendos into a quick, descending sixteenth note pattern. There is urgency! The flute joins the clarinet in a duet to complete the introduction to the anthem. Then, the choir begins their haunting chant, Behold, He is coming with the clouds. Every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him. Every eye will see Him and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him . Alas, there is peace! The two instruments dissolve into an a cappella four-part chorale where the choir creates the agreement between the text and the music, modulating to the relative major (Bâ™)-all is reconciled in a final Amen!

Jmsgu3 #3447443. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.552841). Baritone Horn version of Moment Musicaux, Op. 94 (D. 780) No. 3 by Franz Schubert, published in 1828. Duration: 1:53 Score 6 pg. 54 ms. Alto Sax 1 pg. Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms, and other famous composers in due time discovered his compositions. Nowadays, historians rank Schubert expressly among the greatest composers of the era, and his music remains in general very popular.

Rosa, being the emotional centrepiece of the Remember-Waltzes, acts as a musical memento of a loving person, in its reserved and reduced melodiousness reflecting the person's inconspicuous nature, behind which nonetheless hides great love and purity. This duality is mirrored in the structure of the waltz, being both a slow waltz in the outer segments, and a viennese waltz in the middle. End Of The LineAlbum & Songbook review by:  Kathy Parsons (MainlyPiano.com):Isadar’s fourth solo piano album is a blend of smooth jazz and new age stylings, showing both his impressive technique and sensitivity to melody. Several of the eight selections are free-form and improvisational, revealing some of Liz Story’s influence on his music. Some of Isadar’s earlier recordings have very dark, moody sections, but this one stays fairly upbeat and optimistic without being ear candy. The music is complex enough to sink your teeth into, and yet is accessible enough to enjoy as a backdrop to a quiet dinner or an evening with a good book. Joyful Running begins the journey with an exuberant and uplifting piece that reminds me a little of some of Spencer Brewer’s bouncier compositions. Fountain of Life is a beautiful piece with a water-like flow that never stops in its 10 1/2 minutes. I listened to this CD several times without realizing that this song was that long. It flows and meanders so effortlessly that it seemed no longer than the other seven selections, most of which are between four and five minutes in length. Unstructured and free, this is one of my favorite tracks. I also really like the title track, which is even more abstract and unstructured. The tone is of searching and moving forward. End of the Line is my favorite on this album. Very introspective and contemplative, this seems to be a very personal piece. It is the most somber track, but one still senses hope despite the ending of something dear and important. Or maybe it’s simply the end of the journey and the dread of returning to real life - I feel this way on the last day of my vacations! It is a wonderful and moving closing to an excellent album. The companion songbook is expertly transcribed and engraved by David Shenton of New York Music Publishing. The layout of the music is clear and uncluttered, and the notation includes pedal markings and dynamics that allow the pianist to express the music as closely as possible to how Isadar played it on the recording.  A few of the pieces are quite long and require a more advanced pianist who is able to express the nuances that keep the recording so interesting, but several of the pieces are well within the capabilities of upper intermediate players.  Some of the rhythms are a little bit tricky, but the majority of the left hand parts are running eighth notes, which make it easier.  None of the key signatures are difficult, and none of the chords have a reach of more than an octave, making this music very playable for smaller hands.  My favorite pieces to play in this book are Joyful Running, Voice of God (Thanksgiving), Smoke Signals, and End of the Line.Isadar is an artist on both Enlightened Piano Radio & Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, the latter featuring some of today's biggest names in solo piano music, including Ludovico Einaudi, David Nevue, Brian Crain, Kevin Kern, Robin Spielberg, Michele McLaughlin, Philip Wesley and over 300 more... Soprano voice,Vocal Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.799606 Composed by Ruggiero Leoncavallo. Arranged by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo. Romantic Period. 6 pages. Nicole Elyse DiPaolo #3420731. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.799606). The first of its kind, and the seventh entry in Nicole Elyse DiPaolo's Accessible Accompaniments series of aria reductions, this is a genuinely playable and slightly simplified piano/vocal reduction of Stridono lassù, Nedda's famous aria from Leoncavallo's Pagliacci. Sopranos who love this aria no longer need to fear bringing it in for auditions, last-minute performing engagements, or other situations in which the pianist may have to sight-read from the chaotic, poorly notated, and technically demanding vocal score. Pianists may now enjoy playing this aria comfortably, without risking strain/injury by trying to play the harp lines that nobody can hear anyway! All Accessible Accompaniments, including this one, boast several unique features:1. No reduction ever requires stretches of over an octave, not including bass notes meant to be held or fudged with the pedal (though octaves may also contain chord tones within them). This reduces the amount of rearranging that smaller-handed pianists must already do. Obviously, further reworkings are to be expected and pianists should feel free to add to or modify what I’ve provided.2. I’ve included less essential, but potentially desirable additional voices/passages in cue-size noteheads so that pianists can easily see them, but know that they are not necessary in a sink or swim accompanying situation. Presenting less essential material in cue-size noteheads also reduces visual clutter on the page.3. In addition to the composer’s markings, when needed, I have included hints on particular notes to bring out when the singer is likely to need them as a pitch anchor or when it is not obvious which line should be brought out within the texture.4. All page turns have been carefully selected so as to result in the least possible disruption to the pianist. When an inevitable page turn precedes a potentially surprising note or chord, I’ve included the next downbeat’s notes in cue-size stemless noteheads at the end of the preceding measure.5. When known, I’ve noted alternate cuts that singers might like to take within certain arias.6. In some cases I’ve modernized spelling conventions for easier readability (for example, by replacing ß with ss in German arias) and occasionally I've enharmonically respelled brief passages for greater clarity.About the Arranger: Praised as a sensitive pianist and outstanding accompanist who delivers powerful interpretations, Nicole Elyse DiPaolo enjoys a multifaceted career as a sought-after collaborative pianist, educational composer, arranger, coach, private teacher, and adjunct music professor. Concert band - Grade 1 - SKU: IZ.CBS163-S Composed by Martin J. Wimmer. Score. 10 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #CBS163-S. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.CBS163-S). 9 x 12 in inches.March of the Shadows is a Grade 1 1/2 work for second-year elementary band. As a veteran elementary band director,I am keenly aware of what students are able to accomplish at this level. March of the Shadows is a fun, slightlychallenging, and completely achievable work. It is a work that would be useful at the beginning of the school yearwhen it feels too summery to begin holiday music. March of the Shadows would be perfect for a Halloween orAutumn Concert.March of the Shadows begins with a whistle! It calls the show by announcing each new section of the piece. (Astudy of form.) It even reacts to a momentary modulation. The whistle part has all sorts of fun staging potential, including having it played by the director! The initial whistle is followed by a percussion introduction which sets thebeat. Seven percussion parts, three of them optional, have been included so that everyone in a large percussionsection will be kept engaged and out of trouble! The body of the work includes two alternating themes, one dark andshadowy in minor, the other bright, heroic and slightly syncopated in major. Every part gets the melody at somepoint, even the low brass and woodwinds! Ranges are all standard for early second-year band players, i.e. clarinetsdo not go over the break, trumpets do not go higher than middle line B, the snare drum part is sprinkled with basicrudiments such as flams and paradiddles. Even the horn gets a crack at the tune! Every part is fun, interesting andeducational.
