Piano Solo, Collection / Songbook - Advanced Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Public Domain, as performed and recorded by Isadar. Arranged by Isadar. Neo-Classical, Christmas, Children's Music, Recital, New Age. 50 pages. Published by Mainya Music Publishing (BMI)
Sounds like: Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans, Vince Guaraldi, Liz Story's "The Gift", George Winston's "December", early Windham Hill solo piano artists, and "A Winter's Solstice" compilations.<br> <br> <br> Transcribed by: David Shenton ( https://www.shentonmusic.com/ ) verbatim to the sound recording<br> <br> Contents:<br> 1. Bring A Torch (Bring A Torch, Jeanette, Isabella)<br> 2. Children Go Where I Send Thee / The Holly & The Ivy<br> 3. Star Of Wonder (We Three Kings of Orient Are)<br> 4. Silent (Silent Night, Holy Night)<br> 5. Midnight (It Came Upon the Midnight Clear)<br> 6. What Child Is This?<br> 7. Greensleeves (homage to Liz Story)<br> 8. Three Ships (I Saw Three Ships, Come Sailing In)<br> 9. The Coventry Carol (Lully, Lulla, Lullay)<br> 10. Sing We Now Of Christmas (Noël Nouvelet)<br> 11. Carol Of The Bells<br> <br> Album & Songbook review by: Kathy Parsons (MainlyPiano.com):<br> <br> I have discovered a real wealth of great solo piano Christmas CDs this year! Isadar’s In Search For the Meaning of Christmas definitely falls into this category! Thoughtful, introspective, and a bit moody, Isadar’s arrangements are true to the carols (with some small melody changes in “Bring a Torch” and “Carol of the Bells” that bother me just a little) and still seem very personal. “Bring a Torch”, “The Holly and the Ivy”, and “I Saw Three Ships” are given a lighthearted, joyful treatment. “Star of Wonder (We Three Kings)”, “What Child Is This?”, “The Coventry Carol”, and “Sing We Now of Christmas” are all minor, somber, reverent pieces, and all four are given loving arrangements that keep the dark, mysterious nature of the songs and reflect Isadar’s own sensibilities. “Carol of the Bells” and Isadar's take on Liz Story’s arrangement of “Greensleeves” are energetic without losing all abandon. “Silent Night” and “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear” present us with a very cold, deep solitude - both feel like late night with moonlight reflecting off the snow. Both are moody, but very beautifully so. George Winston’s “December” is one of my all-time favorite holiday albums, and I feel In Search For the Meaning of Christmas holds up exceptionally well next to it. This is an excellent collection of Christmas music, and I highly recommend it!<br> <br> In Search For the Meaning of Christmas is the companion songbook to Isadar’s 1999 solo piano release by the same name. Meticulously transcribed note-for-note by David Shenton of New York Music Publishing, the music is faithful to the recording in every way (except for the pianist - YOU!). The scores are clear, concise, and easy to read, and also include chord indications for improvisation or the use of instruments other than or in addition to the piano. Isadar’s arrangements cover a whole range of emotions, from very dark and somber to joyful and buoyant. All of the pieces from the CD are here, including Isadar’s homage to Liz Story and her beautiful version of “Greensleeves.” My personal favorites of the eleven songs in this book are the bright and cheerful “Bring A Torch,” “What Child Is This?”, “Greensleeves,” the darkly gorgeous “The Coventry Carol,” and “Sing We Now of Christmas.” Other titles that I really like are “Children Go Where I Send Thee/The Holly and the Ivy,” “Star of Wonder (We Three Kings)," “Carol of the Bells,” and the effervescent “Three Ships.” “Silent” (Silent Night) and “Midnight” (It Came Upon a Midnight Clear) are a bit too dark for my own holiday tastes, but are interesting and very personal arrangements. This book will make a great addition to your holiday sheet music collection and is available from isadar.com and amazon.com.<br> <br> Isadar is an artist on both Enlightened Piano Radio & Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, the latter featuring some of today's biggest names in solo piano music, including Ludovico Einaudi, David Nevue, Brian Crain, Kevin Kern, Robin Spielberg, Michele McLaughlin, Philip Wesley and over 300 more...<br> <br> Also available as sheet music in physical songbooks, digital downloads, as well as software for Yamaha Disklavier player-pianos.<br> <br> For more information, visit his website at: http://www.isadar.com

Ten Christmas Carols for 8-note Bells and Boomwhackers® (with Color Coded Notes)

Xylophone, Percussion Ensemble, Handbell, Orff instruments, one octave Handbells and Boomwhackers, Boomwhacker, handbell choir - Early Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Christian, Sacred, Classroom, Folk, Christmas. Score, Set of Parts. 87 pages. Published by Sharon Wilson
This collection contains 10 Christmas carols arranged for 2-part ensembles using only 8-note instruments. Each song in this collection is notated for handbells on one part and Boomwhackers® on a second part. For each song, there is a combined score with both parts on a grand staff plus a separate 1-staff score for each individual part. A note and chord reference chart is also provided for each song.<br> <br> This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. If you have a set of bells or tubes with a different color scheme, “Chroma-Notes Stick Ons” can be purchased and applied so the instruments match the Boomwhackers® color scheme. This set of scores is also available (separate purchase) in black and white which will print clearer if you do not have access to a color printer.<br> <br> Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are full color and easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. Lyrics and chord names are provided as well to aid in the learning and teaching of these songs.<br> <br> Though this sheet music is notated for Handbells and Boomwhackers®, these arrangements are playable by any 8-note, C major diatonic scale (one octave) instrument such as a xylophone or glockenspiel.<br> <br> The number of ringers and whackers needed will vary depending on the skill level of the participants. For more advanced players, each person could be assigned two or three notes. For beginners, it is best to assign one note to each person. Note assignment suggestions are included for each song.<br> <br> Other suggestions and uses:<br> * have both parts played by bells or both parts played using only Boomwhackers® <br> * form a choir using multiple sets of bells and/or Boomwhackers® (this would amplify the sound and allow more people to participate)<br> * use as part of the music education for children at school, home, or church<br> * these colorful, inexpensive instruments can be enjoyed by all ages and add a fun, unique element to activities and programs: senior centers, family reunions, church retreats, home school groups, just to name a few<br> <br> <br> Each of the 10 Christmas Carol arrangements is also available separately with accompanying preview pages and audio samples.<br> <br> Titles included in this collection:<br> Angels We Have Heard on High<br> As Lately We Watched<br> Come, All Ye Shepherds<br> Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus<br> The First Noel<br> Here We Come A-Caroling<br> Joy to the World<br> O Come, Little Children<br> O Thou Joyful Day<br> Sing We Now of Christmas

Are your students ready for more intermediate or advanced band repertoire, yet the band’s limited instrumentation holds them back?My Limited or Full series is geared toward the success of small bands with limited instrumentation. These pieces aim at giving small bands more advanced music within the framework of a young band arrangement. If you like the music, these pieces also sound great with a larger full instrumentation.PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:The joyful ringing of bells is often associated with the holiday season. This is a common theme running through Christmas Carol literature. Conceived as a fun, accessible overture for young bands or bands with limited instrumentation, A Celebration of Bells highlights two of the most beloved Christmas carols associated with bells. The piece begins with a joyful brass bell-tone fanfare accompanied by trilling woodwinds. The introduction gives way to mostly-unison woodwind rendition of I Heard the Bells On Christmas Day. The brass then further works out the melody with a more chordal presentation. The woodwinds present a short, light interlude, followed by an explosive snare drum and full-band chord one key higher than the beginning. The piece shifts to a Jingle Bells march. Following the march, the music modulates back down one key and returns to a full band, Maestoso version of I Heard the Bells. The overture comes to a close with a return to the familiar introductory bell tones. This piece is sure to be a festive hit for both your students and their audience!

Piano,Soprano Saxophone - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548666 Composed by James Pierpont. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas. Score and part. 8 pages. Jmsgu3 #3409331. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548666). Jingle Bells arranged for soprano sax & piano. Score: 4 pg. piano part: 3 pg. sax part: 1 pg. Jingle Bells is perhaps the most famous songs in American music history. James L. Pierpont published the song as One Horse Open Sleigh in the late 1850’s. Since its introduction, people began to insist that Pierpont wrote it for a Sunday school choir. However, it seems unlikely that such a secular song would be considered appropriate during that historical period for Sunday school.Christmas Repertoire Pierpont wrote the song for the Thanksgiving holidays, but over time people began to think of it more as a Christmas song. Some choirs adopted it as part of their Christmas repertoire in the 1860s and 1870s. Jingle Bells was first recorded in 1889 on a wax cylinder. Origins No one knows where Pierpont composed the song. One theory suggests he wrote it in Medford Massachusetts in 1850. Sleigh races were certainly popular in 19th Century Massachusetts. To this day, a commemorative placard appears in Medford square claiming that it is the birthplace of Jingle Bells. Others suggest that he wrote it in Savannah, Georgia where he was an organist and music director at the Unitarian Church. This theory gains support from the copyright date of 1857. We know he was living in Savannah by then. Traffic Signals Horse-drawn sleighs are relatively quiet in the snow. Consequently, horses were usually equipped with bell-laden straps so as to avoid accidents at blind intersections. Sleigh drivers in 19th Century New England were constantly vigilant, listening for the sounds of approaching horse-drawn sleighs. The tune imitates the rhythm that the trotting horse bells produce. Social Context Jingle Bells was sung as a drinking song at local revelries: during the song folks would rhythmically jangle the ice in their glasses. A sleigh ride gave couples an opportunity to be alone together. The term Jingle bells is a poetic descriptive adjective referring specifically to the more accurate term sleigh bells. In many arrangements, sleigh bells are used to accentuate the rhythm during the song chorus. Register for free lifetime updates and revisions at www.jamesguthrie.com

Baritone Saxophone,Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548665 Composed by James Pierpont. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas. Score and part. 8 pages. Jmsgu3 #3408945. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548665). Jingle Bells arranged for baritone sax & piano. Score: 3pg. part: 1pg. piano 3 pg.

Large Ensemble Bells,Boomwhackers,Glockenspiel,Handbell,Handchime,Orff Instrument,Ukulele,Xylophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.569887 By LeAnn Rimes. By Johnny Marks. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Children,Christmas,Contemporary,Country,Rock. Score and parts. 41 pages. Sharon Wilson #6614265. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.569887). NOTE: Beginning musicians (or those new to Handbells and Boomwhackers® ensemble playing) may find the Boomwhackers® part easier since it only contains quarter notes and rests without the syncopation of the Handbells. This sheet music is notated for 13-note (one octave, C to C chromatic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. Included in this set of scores is a combined score with both instrument parts on a grand staff plus a separate score for each instrument. A note and chord reference chart is also provided. To aid in the learning and teaching of this song or for use with other instruments (such as a Ukulele), chord names are included on the Boomwhackers® staff and score. Lyrics are provided on the grand staff for sing along enjoyment or when using this arrangement as the accompaniment for a unison choir. In addition, a complete set of scores for 4 ringers and 4 whackers is provided. Though there are multiple combinations for the number of ringers and whackers needed for any given performance, this extra set of scores is specifically designed for 8 performers. For each ringer and whacker, the 1-staff score shows only the notes they are assigned. This alternate score format may be easier to sight-read since the only notes on the staff are the assigned notes allowing the player to focus on rhythm. This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are full color and easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter and eighth rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. All sharps and flats are displayed as well (shown in the key of C); a helpful reminder for beginning musicians. Other suggestions and uses: * have both parts played by bells or both parts played using only Boomwhackers® * form a choir using multiple sets of bells and/or Boomwhackers® (this would amplify the sound and allow more people to participate) * use as part of the music education for children at school, home, or church* these colorful, inexpensive instruments can be enjoyed by all ages and add a fun, unique element to activities and programs: senior centers, family reunions, church retreats, home school groups, children's ministriesPermission is granted to make as many copies as needed for one family, church, school, or other performing group. Large Ensemble Choir - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.995827 Composed by Leontovych Mykola. Arranged by Yury Ilinov. Christmas. Score and parts. 38 pages. Yury Ilinov #4982653. Published by Yury Ilinov (A0.995827). This is a very easy to play arrangement of one of the most popular Christmas Carols for full symphony orchestra (with only 2 horns and 1 trombone), which could be easily played by a youth or even children's orchestra. What is also special, is that I have added the text in the Ukranian language, so that more audiences could get acquainted with the original sound of the carol. We performed one verse in English, and the other in the Ukranian. For this the same text comes two times, with a little bit different choral arrangement. Please see that there are two variants of the choral part: just with the English text and with the Ukranian (a little bit overpopulated with syllables). If there is need, I would readily make a version with the two verses in the Ukranian and a translation.

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day♫ piano solo arrangement by Stephen R Dalrymple♫ based on the public domain hymn by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1864) and John B Calkin (WALTHAM 1872.)♫ Longfellow, native of Maine, became America’s most famous poets. In November of the same year Charles was seriously injured in the Battle of Mine Run. Handbell - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767676 Composed by French carol. Arranged by c.e. walz. Christmas,Sacred. Score. 2 pages. C.E. Walz #6081145. Published by C.E. Walz (A0.767676). Sing We Now of Christmas is a wonderfully rhythmic minor key hymn that translates well to handbells, and beginning handbells at that! All within the span of less than an octave, this piece only requires six bells. If each ringer holds two bells, that makes only three ringers in all. My friend maestro said he likes the almost constant G on the second page, for he says it sounds like bells clanging in a tower, Christmas bells! Two pages, key of G minor, no key changes. Tempo set at 76 bpm, but challenge your choir to play this faster and see how that sounds!

By American Folk Song, Benjamin Hanby, Emily Huntington Miller, James Lord Pierpont, Robert Burns, Traditional, and Traditional Christmas Carol. Arranged by Sharon Wilson and Sharon Wilson Music. Children,Christmas,Holiday,Instructional,Traditional. 36 pages. Sharon Wilson #3897777. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565337). This collection contains 5 popular holiday songs:Auld Lang Syne (New Year's)Jingle Bells - chorus only (Christmas)Jolly Old Saint Nicholas (Christmas)Over the River and Through the Woods (Thanksgiving)Up on the Housetop (Christmas)This sheet music is notated for 8-note, C major diatonic scale (one octave) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating a 2-part instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). For each song, there is a combined score with both parts on a grand staff plus a separate 1-staff score for each individual part. A note and chord reference chart is also provided for each song.Though this sheet music is notated for Handbells and Boomwhackers®, these songs are playable by any 8-note, C major diatonic scale (one octave) instrument such as a xylophone or glockenspiel. The melody could also be played with soprano or alto recorders. This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. If you have a set of bells or tubes with a different color scheme, Chroma-Notes Stick Ons can be purchased and applied so the instruments match the Boomwhackers® color scheme. This set of scores is also available (separate purchase) in black and white which will print clearer if you do not have access to a color printer.Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are full color and easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. Lyrics are provided as well to aid in the learning and teaching of these songs. The number of ringers and whackers needed will vary depending on the skill level of the participants. For more advanced players, each person could be assigned two or three notes. For beginners, it is best to assign one or two notes to each person. Instrument assignment suggestions are provided for each song.Other suggestions and uses: * have both parts played by bells or both parts played using only Boomwhackers®   * form a choir using multiple sets of bells and/or Boomwhackers® (this would amplify the sound and allow more people to participate)* use as part of the music education for children at school, home, or church* these colorful, inexpensive instruments can be enjoyed by all ages and add a fun, unique element to activities and programs: senior centers, family reunions, church retreats, home school groups, children's ministries Boomwhackers® is a registered trademark of Rhythm Band Instruments, LLC.
