Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1044425 By Lisa Waites. By Lisa Waites. Arranged by Lisa Waites. Folk,Holiday,Multicultural,Praise & Worship,Sacred,World. Score. 2 pages. Servant Song Music and Ministry #649158. Published by Servant Song Music and Ministry (A0.1044425). I wrote this reconciliation hymn back in 2016, when elders from the Blood Tribe, Metis, Piikani, and Siksika nations of Southern Alberta led the Reconciliation Week events at Medicine Hat College, in Medicine Hat, Alberta. They invited me to write and teach this hymn as part of the sessions at MHC, where I was (then) the ecumenical Chaplain. It has been an honour to participate in this annual tradition of indigenous leaders sharing their distinctive cultural practices, traditions, and values with the public in Medicine Hat (and the surrounding communities) for a decade, now. During the session I was asked to assist with, the Elders were sharing the Seven Grandfathers' Teachings, and so I included these core values into the lyrics of the hymn. The work in Medicine Hat started with expressions of lament and support from a group of local churches and the Medicine Hat College Chaplaincy program while the Truth and Reconciliation Commission was crossing the country. We quickly realized that many non-indigenous Canadians genuinely wanted to learn more about their First Nations, Metis, and Inuit neighbours. Seeing an urgent need for greater awareness about the intergenerational damage that was done by the Indian Residential School system here in Canada, and also identifying these Reconciliation events as a way to decrease racist stereotypes and assumptions about indigenous peoples, we decided to continue offering an annual reconciliation session, which grew, year by year. A decade later, I'm delighted to have seen deeper, healthier relationships being built between indigenous and non-indigenous people. Musically, this hymn loosely imitates the style of the French Canadian Voyageurs, the folk melodies of the 18th and 19th centuries. The lyrics incorporate the Seven Grandfathers' Teachings. This core ethical framework has many different versions, but many First Nations communities have adopted these teachings in some form. (I've heard Elders say that Respect must come first, because it is the foundation that we build on, but for this particular group at Medicine Hat College, Humility was first on the list). I have Metis ancestry myself, and as an adult, I have researched the long-hidden genealogical and cultural treasures of my family tree. Whether you are an indigenous person looking to support other indigenous Christian composers, or whether you are a non-indigenous person who is trying to broaden the repertoire of your congregation, We Must Learn to Walk Together is an upbeat, hope-filled hymn that sings about reconciliation as if it is not only possible in the distant future - but also achievable today, using the concrete steps suggested by the lyrics. The indigenous wisdom of the Seven Grandfathers' Teachings lines up beautifully with the teachings of Christ. Musically, this hymn is highly accessible for congregational singing; the range is moderate and the rhythms provide musical interest without becoming overly complex; to hear the guitar version and melody line of the hymn being played and sung by the composer, please go to the following YouTube link: https://youtu.be/3DpkFCLxgEs. The musical format of the hymn alternates between the chorus and three verses. The piece takes roughly 3:30 to perform. This hymn has been transcribed in the key of C Major, so it is as easy as possible for church accompanists to play and for congregations to sing; guitarists are invited to play in the key of A Major and simply capo 3. Guitar chords are included. I hope and pray that this hymn for reconciliation will help you, your congregation, and the wider community to think about, pray for, and enact the calls to action of the Canadian Truth and Reconciliation Commission in new and deeper ways this year.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1270160 By Arlo Guthrie. By Arlo Guthrie. Arranged by Craig Hanson. A Cappella,Comedy,Folk. Octavo. 6 pages. Edition Craig Hanson #862589. Published by Edition Craig Hanson (A0.1270160). For TTBB chorus a cappella and solo voice. As performed by Arlo Guthrie.Wanna hear something? You know that Indians never ate clams. They didn't have linguini! And so what happened was that clams was allowed to grow unmolested in the coastal waters of America for millions of years. And they got big, and I ain't talking about clams in general, I'm talking about each clam! Individually. I mean each one was a couple of million years old or older. So imagine they could have got bigger than this whole room. And when they get that big, God gives them little feet so that they could walk around easier. And when they get feet, they get dangerous. I'm talking about real dangerous. I ain't talking about sitting under the water waiting for you. I'm talking about coming after you.Imagine being on one of them boats coming over to discover America, like Columbus or something, standing there at night on watch, everyone else is either drunk or asleep. And you're watching for America and the boat's going up and down. And you don't like it anyhow but you gotta stand there and watch, for what? Only he knows, and he ain't watching. You hear the waves lapping against the side of the ship. The moon is going behind the clouds. You hear the pitter patter of little footprints on deck. ‘Is that you kids?’ It ain't! My god! It's this humongous, giant clam!Imagine those little feet coming on deck. A clam twice the size of the ship. Feet first. You're standing there shivering with fear, you grab one of these. This is a belaying pin. They used to have these stuck in the holes all around the ship… You probably didn't know what this is for; you probably had an idea, but you were wrong. They used to have these stuck in the holes all along the sides of the ship, everywhere. You wouldn't know what this is for unless you was that guy that night.I mean, you'd grab this out of the hole, run on over there, bam bam on them little feet! Back into the ocean would go a hurt, but not defeated, humongous, giant clam. Ready to strike again when opportunity was better. You know not even the coastal villages was safe from them big clams. You know them big clams had an inland range of about 15 miles. Think of that. I mean our early pioneers and the settlers built little houses all up and down the coast you know. A little inland and stuff like that and they didn't have houses like we got now, with bathrooms and stuff. They built little privies out back. And late at night, maybe a kid would have to go, and he'd go stomping out there in the moonlight. And all they'd hear for miles around...(loud clap/belch).... One less kid for America. One more smiling, smurking, humongous, giant clam.So Americans built forts. Them forts --you know—them pictures of them forts with the wooden points all around. You probably thought them points was for Indians but that's stupid! 'Cause Indians know about doors. But clams didn't. Even if a clam knew about a door, so what? A clam couldn't fit in a door. I mean, he'd come stomping up to a fort at night, put them feet on them points, jump back crying, tears coming out of them everywhere. But Americans couldn't live in forts forever. You couldn't just build one big fort around America. How would you go to the beach? So what they did was they formed groups of people. I mean they had groups of people all up and down the coast form these little alliances. Like up North it was call the Clamshell Alliance. And farther down South it was called the Catfish Alliance. They had these Alliances all up and down the coast defending themselves against these threatening monsters. These humongous giant clams. Andt hey'd go out there, if there was maybe fifteen of them they'd be singing songs in fifteen part harmony. And when one part disappeared, that's how they knew where the clam would be.Which is why Americans only sing in four part harmony to this very day. That proved to be too dangerous. See, what they did was they'd be singing these songs called Clam Chanties, and they'd have these big spears called clampoons. And they'd be walking up and down the beach and the method they eventually devised where they'd have this guy, the most strongest heavy duty true blue American, courageous type dude they could find and they'd have him out there walking up and down the beach by himself with other chicken dudes hiding behind the sand dunes somewhere. He'd be singing the verses. They'd be singing the chorus, and clams would hear 'em. And clams hate music. So clams would come out of the water and they'd come after this one guy. And all you'd see pretty soon was flying all over the sand flying up and down the beach manmanclamclammanmanclam manclamclamman up and down the beach going this way and that way up the hills in the water out of the water behind the trees everywhere. Finally the man would jump over a big sand dune, roll over the side, the clam would come over the dune, fall in the hole and fourteen guys would come out there and stab the shit out of him with their clampoons. That's the way it was. That was one way to deal with them. The other way was to weld two clams together. [I don't believe it. I'm losing it. Hey. What can you do. Another night shot to hell.] Hey, this was serious back then. This was very serious. I mean these songs now are just piddly folk songs. But back then these songs were controversial. These was radical, almost revolutionary songs. Because times was different and clams was a threat to America. That's right. So we want to sing this song tonight about the one last... You see what they did was there was one man, he was one of these men, his name will always be remembered, his name was Reuben Clamzo, and he was one of the last great clam men there ever was. He stuck the last clam stab. The last clampoon into the last clam that was ever seen on this continent. Knowing he would be out of work in an hour. He did it anyway so that you and me could go to the beach in relative safety. That's right. Made America safe for the likes of you and me. And so we sing this song in his memory. He went into whaling like most of them guys did and he got out of that, when he died. You know, clams was much more dangerous than whales. Clams can run in the water, on the water or on the ground, and they are so big sometimes that they can jump and they can spread their kinda shells and kinda almost fly like one of them flying squirrels. You could be standing there thinking that your perfectly safe and all of a sudden whop.... That's true... And so this is the song of this guy by the name of Reuben Clamzo and the song takes place right after he stabbed this clam and the clam was, going through this kinda death dance over on the side somewhere. The song starts there and he goes into whaling and takes you through the next...I sing the part of the guy on the beach by himself. I go like this: Poor old Reuben Clamzo and you go Clamzo Boys Clamzo. That's the part of the fourteen chicken dudes over on the other side. That's what they used to sing. They'd be calling these clams out of the water. Like taunting them making fun of them. Clams would get real mad and come out. Here we go. I want you to sing it in case you ever have an occasion to join such an alliance. You know some of these alliances are still around. Still defending America against things like them clams. If you ever wants to join one, now you have some historic background. So you know where these guys are coming from. It's not just some 60's movement or something, these things go back a long time.Notice the distinction you're going to have to make now between the first and easy Clamzo Boys Clamzo and the more complicated Clamzo Me Boys Clamzo. Stay serious! Folk songs are serious. That's what Pete Seeger told me. Arlo I only want to tell you one thing... Folk songs are serious. I said right. Let's do it in C for Clam...Iet's do it in B... For boy that's a big clam... Iet' s do it in G for Gee, I hope that big clam don't see me. Let's do it in F... For …he sees me. Let's do it back in A...for a clam is coming. Better get this song done quick. The Story of Reuben Clamzo and His Strange Daughter in the Key of A.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.778049 Composed by John David. Arranged by Jen Mathers. 20th Century,Pop,Praise & Worship. Score and parts. 4 pages. Jen Mathers #5790833. Published by Jen Mathers (A0.778049). Arranged for standard string quartet (NOTE: the audio and video samples are performed by a cellist covering all violin, viola, and cello parts, but the voicing/octaves are identical to the string quartet arrangement). This choral work was originally written by John David for the band Airwaves in 1978. It was later arranged by Peter Knight and recorded by the King's Singers. This transcription for strings follows the very popular King's Singers version. The song is about 2 1/2 minutes long, and easy to read for all string parts. Doublestops could be skipped for beginning players. Bowings are included to facilitate uniform ensemble playing. It is a secular song but is often used by church choirs. It is a lovely ensemble piece when played by string quartet, and can be used for weddings, memorial services, or any occasion requiring hopeful or somber music. According to the composer: The inspiration for New Day was quite simple; I had just had a major blow in my personal life, and was sitting alone late at night on the settee feeling very low, and watching an ominous story on the news about the very real possibility of nuclear war. I started singing to the (hopefully) soon-to arrive New Day like it was an entity, that would rescue me from the depths. If the sun came up and the birds started singing as usual then I could believe that it really was the new day in which life would go on, and in which hope would survive.

Londonderry Air arranged for String Orchestra.<br> <br> A big band version of the song is used as the theme for The Danny Thomas Show (a.k.a. Make Room For Daddy).<br> <br> "Danny Boy" was used to represent Northern Ireland at the start of the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony, sung by a choir of children on the Giant’s Causeway.<br> <br> On November 25, 2014, the Vancouver Canucks used the song in honor of the recently deceased Pat Quinn, who played and worked in many executive capacities for the team.<br> <br> There are various theories as to the true meaning of "Danny Boy". Some listeners have interpreted the song to be a message from a parent to a son going off to war or leaving as part of the Irish diaspora.<br> <br> The 1918 version of the sheet music included alternative lyrics ("Eily Dear"), with the instructions that "when sung by a man, the words in italic should be used; the song then becomes "Eily Dear", so that "Danny Boy" is only to be sung by a lady". In spite of this, it is unclear whether this was Weatherly’s intent.<br> <br> Why the name Londonderry Air? Londonderry and Derry refer to the same place, a city in the north of Ireland, and also to the surrounding county. Supposedly the city of Derry was founded by St. Colmcille, although archaeological evidence shows that people were living there thousands of years earlier. There is an excellent museum in the city, which is worth a visit if you want to find out more. The name of the city was actually "Doire", corrupted to "Derry" by people who can’t pronounce Irish. It thought to derive from an Irish root meaning "oak tree".<br> <br> Moving quickly along in history, about a millenium later the government of England was having a difficult time colonizing Ireland because of the fierce and warlike clans living there, especially in the north of the country, Ulster. The monarchs of England, almost all of whom were notorious cheapskates, were continually looking about for ingenious ways to conquer places without actually having to put up the money themselves, or run the risk of unpopularity if they lost. In the case of Ireland, some of these schemes of the "Brish gummit" (as it is termed nowadays in Ulster) are still producing unfortunate long-term consequences.<br> <br> In 1608, King James I gave the city of Derry to the City of London corporation. I guess the deal could be summed up by saying that if the City of London could figure out a way to chase all the inhabitants out of Derry, they would be allowed to keep the loot, minus a percentage for the King of course. If they lost, well too bad. In celebration of this historic agreement, the name of Derry was officially changed to Londonderry. (For further information, check out the Northern Ireland Tourist Board’s History of Derry.)<br> <br> The linguistic outcome of all this today is that, if you think that King James’s deal with the City of London was a good idea, you call both the city and county "Londonderry". If you do, you are probably a supporter of the Unionist movement that seeks to keep Ulster a part of the United Kingdom. If you think it was a bad idea, you call both "Derry", and you are probably a supporter of the Irish Nationalist cause. Or you might just be someone who thinks it’s confusing for kings to be going around changing the names of places all the time for no good reason.<br> <br> You can find plenty of discussion about the political side of the question elsewhere, but here let’s look at the musical side. We have an air, collected in county Derry/Londonderry, and it doesn’t have a title. What do we call it?<br> <br> If you were a proper Victorian, there’s no way you were going to call it the Londonderry Air, much less the Derry Air, because of the improper sentiments that these titles might suggest. My parents tell me that in their youth in Australia, it was usually called the Air from County Derry. (This would, I suppose, support Winston Churchill’s theory that Australia was inhabited by "convicts and Irishmen".)<br> <br> My mother also sends the following information, referring to an arrangement of the tune by the Australian composer Percy Grainger:<br> <br> Just another note about Danny Boy, that I grew up in Australia believing to be the Air from County Derry. We were looking through some LP’s last night (back to vinyl yet!) and found a Mercury Wing Classical Favorites stereo LP SRW18060, COUNTRY GARDENS and other favorites by Percy Grainger {played by} Eastman-Rochester Pops, Frederick Fennell, conducting. The cover notes included the following: "Irish Tune from County Derry was harmonised in memory of Irish childhood friends in Australia." Considered by many to be Grainger’s masterpiece of harmonization, the tune was collected many years ago by Miss Jane Ross of New Town, Limavady, Ireland. Grainger has set it for many instrumental combinations. So there’s another variant on the name for it. It doesn’t say who wrote the notes, but the bits in quotes for each of the works on the record are Grainger’s original comments.<br> <br> The references to Londonderry Air that I’ve seen don’t go back any earlier than the late 1930s. CONJUNCTION: The Christmas Star of 2020

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.976734 Composed by Robert Myers. 20th Century,Christmas,Contemporary. Score and parts. 99 pages. WheatMyer Music #6496769. Published by WheatMyer Music (A0.976734). CONJUNCTION interprets the convergence of Jupiter and Saturn near the end of the year 2020 as a celestial metaphor for the good news of Christ's birth in a replay of the Star of Bethlehem. Hence, its subtitle of The Christmas Star of 2020. The music, along with narration from selected Old and New Testament scriptures, delivers a message of hope amid the turmoil and chaos of current times. It's written for smaller concert bands hungry for challenging music. Ample cues and doubling allow for flexible instrumentation while mixed meters, varying tempos and textures, and interesting solo lines provide opportunities for strong players to shine. CONJUNCTION is also available with strings for orchestra.PROGRAM NOTES:2020 is widely characterized for its maladies: murders, burning cities, riots, a pandemic, economic shocks, and political turmoil. For some of us, it also held personal tragedy such as my brother’s passing from COVID. But, 2020 also brought a sign of hope, namely the celestial phenomenon known as the Great Conjunction of 2020. For earth-bound observers, this was the closest approach of Jupiter and Saturn in almost 400 years as they appeared to almost touch in the early evening sky to produce the most brilliant evening star of our lifetimes. The occurrence of the event in November-December neatly coincided with the Advent season, peaking just before Christmas Day. One could hardly fail to note the parallels with the Christmas star of Matthew’s gospel which gave the conjunction its alternate name, the Christmas Star of 2020. Thus, this star spoke, to those with ears to hear, the same message the prophet Isaiah wrote about the coming Messiah, The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light. This star thus served to remind us that the LORD has not rejected us; He will show His favor again; His love has not vanished; His promises have not failed; He has not forgotten to be merciful or compassionate; and we are called to remember His mighty deeds (Psalm 77). CONJUNCTION: The Christmas Star of 2020 is inspired by these particulars. For the music, I looked to Gustav Holst’s The Planets for themes that would portray Jupiter and Saturn’s pas de deux. I selected several motives from the corresponding movements mixed and matched in sometimes easily recognized quotations and other times in heavily camouflaged derivations. An exuberant polyphonic passage recaps themes from both Jupiter and Saturn when the music resolves from uncertainty into hopefulness. While Holst’s motives provide CONJUNCTION’s foundation I also used Handel’s Messiah for transitory and climactic material. You will hear his The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light in transitions and a short trombone solo. And a re-harmonization of the opening line from For unto us a child is born brings the music to a joyous climax.Although the music stands firmly on its own, I elected to incorporate some narrative to make the musical sentiment explicit. In a commentary on 2020’s grim events, I took adaptations of Habakkuk 1:2-4 and 2 Tim 3:1-4 and set them over Saturn’s plodding and ominous harmonies. Contrasting replies shimmer with hope as the narration melds Isaiah 9:2 and Luke 1:78-79 over another Saturn motive set against pitch sets from Jupiter’s main hymn theme. Still, it’s the music that tells the story of the Christmas Star of 2020.Please visit my website for a complete score preview: https://wheatmyermusic.com/conjunction-the-christmas-star-of-2020I feel somewhat guilty making claim to this music as almost all the building blocks are taken from other composers. But the end result is neither a medley, nor an arrangement, rather it is something clearly new, so I call it my own with deep respect to those giants on whose shoulders I stand.Robert MyersS.D.G.

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1201464 By Vessela Stoyanova. By Vessela Stoyanova. Folk,Multicultural,World. Score and parts. 89 pages. Vessela Stoyanova #798931. Published by Vessela Stoyanova (A0.1201464). “Mountain Goats and Other Creatures†was Commissioned by Rachel Jayson and the Lexington High School Symphony Orchestra. It was inspired by the folk music of my native land of Bulgaria, informed by my experience as a rock musician, reimagined through the lense of my place inside of a community of like-minded artists and musicians, where I have made my real home today. The first movement - Mountain Goats - is a sort of celebration of renewal, promise, and hope. It represents the tenacious will of grass growing through the snow of early spring, the powerful longing for human connection, the warmth of the sun against your skin on a bright chilly day. It carries both the pristine optimism of youth, and the nervous energy of trying something for the first time. The second movement - Samodivi - in contrast is dark, heavy and full of passion and desire. According to Balkan myths, Samodivi are gorgeous nymphs who live in the woods and often seduce men with their beautiful song and dance. They are feared and envied at the same time. The music of the second movement represents the mysterious dark forest at night - lower strings create the moss under your feet, higher strings use extended techniques to simulate the noise of branches clicking the wind, a few soloists represent different creatures - both real and imaginary - scurry through the woods above your head. Then you hear the lone song of a Samodiva in the distance, your heart is beating hard, your steps are leading you straight towards the call against your better judgement. It is the ancient story of fear and desire, of self control and complete abandon. You, the listener, become witness to a wild dance, fire in the woods, snakes in their long blond hairs, slender bodies dressed in white clouds dancing to an imaginary beat.  Then it all ends abruptly and you left to wonder: Was it real? Did I see it? Am I safe? The third and final movement of the piece is based on a popular rhythmic folk dance in Bulgaria called Kopanitsa, while the melody creates a fugue between the different voices of the orchestra. The Kids are the little of the mountain goats - free to frolic high above tree line, above any human traces, as close to the clouds as one can get and still be touching the ground below. They are carefree, daring, and somewhat naive, yet safe under the watchful gaze of their parent. The movements ends in cascading repetitions of a musical motif in 5/8 representing the relentless passing of time or at least our perception of it.

Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1167528 Composed by Larry Williams. Contemporary,Folk,Jazz. Individual part. 80 pages. Larry Andrew Williams #767908. Published by Larry Andrew Williams (A0.1167528). A WORD FROM THE COMPOSER Is anyone interested in new reading material anymore? I know that when I was a kid in nineteen hundred and something, the quest for new musical pieces was always one of the funnest aspects of the whole musical journey. Of course I did learn that it would take a long time to  nd those few that would resonate with me for a lifetime, but it was always fun trying them all out. It still is, in fact. Well, times change and people change, but I’d still like to believe that same factor carries on. You know, the one about trying out all that music to get to the few you keep. And what about the few we do keep? For guitar players, was it always a classic from the usual suspects, like Albeniz, Sor, Tarrega,, Granados, Rodrigo, Brouwer, Barrios, Villa-Lobos, or anything by Bach? Was it something our band director or private instructor, one of our friends, or our parents wrote? Or – Heaven forbid- something that maybe we ourselves wrote? Or some “unknown guy.â€Â Consider this.Just how often did some unknown composer's piece greatly affect us as we waded through a daunting pile of the familiar from the known masters? And since some, if not most of these classics are required reading, how often did we even get around to giving this unknown guy's piece a try?And furthermore, was this unknown guy - shudder...alive? Let’s face it. In the composer arena, we the living, stand no chance against the deceased (God rest their souls) But by saying “they don’t write ‘em like that anymore,†are we denying ourselves new ground to be broken, doors to be opened, frontiers to be discovered? And isn’t that pioneering spirit just plain ol’ curiosity when it comes right down to it? Well I believe the key lies within the carrying out of these notions that curiosity places in us. It’s climbing the mountain simply because it is there. So, for right now, I’m that unknown guy and I would only urge you to break new ground every day. Lots of trends, ideas, and interests will come and go in your life, but always hang on to that curiosity. It’s what makes the world a smaller neighborhood. Larry Williams.

The Piano Vocal Score (with SA Chorus) New Contemporary Classical Music from American Costa Rican composer James Nathaniel Holland in his masterful ballet adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale, The Snow Queen. Ballet yet to be premiered. Be the first to produce it! Highlights are The Dance of the Evil Snow Sprite and the Distorted Mirror, Innocence and Kai and Gerde's Special Friendship, The Waltz of the Roses ('Think of my love as a Rose'), The Waltz of the Snowflakes (Snowbees), Gerde Morns Kai's Death, The Suite of the Lady of Spring (Tale of the Tiger Lillies, The Dream of the Morning Glories, The Tale of the Snowdrops, the Hyacinth's Tale), The Waltz of the Summer Palace, Dance of the Thieves and Kai's Joyous Dance Finale. Ballet Synopsis: Evil Snow Sprites make a mirror that reflects all that is mean and evil. When it shatters, its splinters drift to the far corners of the world. Gerde and Kai are two poor children who live in Copenhagen in the early 19th Century. They live innocently with their parents and Grandmother and tend a rooftop rose garden. One winter night Kai meets the Snow Queen and a splinter from the mirror enters his eye. The Snow Queen returns and abducts Kai. Although accepted as dead, Gerde deeply feels otherwise and begins her quest to find her friend, traveling through the four seasons, sometimes beautiful and sometimes frightening. The Lady of Spring takes her as an addition to her fantastical garden filled with tales and dreams of the flowers who dwell there. But when Gerde sees the rose on Spring's bonnet she wakes from her enchantment. Her tears spring back the roses who tell her Kai is not dead. She flees from the garden. Gerde grows up in the wilderness and a crow says that he has seen Kai at the Palace of the Queen of Summer. They hurry there to find a magnificent ball in progress. Gerde is introduced to the Kai lookalike but knows something is not right. The Queen of Summer helps Gerde on her way and lends her a coach and gives her a magic red rose that will never fade.As coach searches for Kai, it enters the season of Autumn and is accosted by robber girl and a band of theives. They dance in an rousing, energetic dance taunting her. When the morning comes Gerde tells her fellow captive animals of her quest to find Kai and that all hope is lost. The pigeons finally tell Gerde that Kai was abducted by the Snow Queen many years ago. The robber girl overhears them and has a change of heart letting her go with her reindeer to the far North of the Snow Queen.Gerde finds Kai in the palace of the Snow Queen piecing together the evil mirror. She gives Kai up for dead but leaves the rose of summer beside him. Kai spots the rose and he sheds a tear. The splinter falls out and he completes the mirror. They head back for home to their families were there is a big finale of a beautiful wedding on a late summer day and live happily ever after.YouTube Complete Ballet presentation: https://youtu.be/-zDAJ-Ttw70Composer website: http://lacoronadelossantos.net/jamesnathanielholland.htmlTwo part performance CDs sold separately. Even though I have been a big fan for many years, I was still blown away by Isadar’s live performance in my house concert series in July 2010. The man has magic fingers and an extraordinary piano touch that are perfectly suited to express his imaginative, distinctive, and emotionally powerful music.<br> <br> Isadar is also a singer/songwriter and an electronic musician who creates the music videos for much of his music, dramatizing the stories that inspired the songs. The title track conveys the freedom of an improvisation while weaving together a variety of upbeat themes. “The Man Who Broke My Heart” is energetic and in constant swirling motion - also very free and from deep within. “The Stairwell” is darker and much more mysterious, overflowing with Isadar’s intriguing accented rhythms and picturesque compositional style. My favorite track is the almost nine-minute “Letting Go,” a piece that intertwines a series of musical vignettes into a powerful, colorful musical collage. I love the way Isadar seamlessly goes from flowing and smooth to a bouncy jazz style to high drama without missing a beat. Great stuff! “En Face Du Miroir (Facing the Mirror)” is much lighter, with fingers dancing nimbly around the piano keyboard. The album closes with “Blood ... Thicker Than Water,” again a combination of changing themes that could well be a musical family portrait - different personalities working separately and as a unit, bound together by the unseen ties that keep families together through thick and thin.<br> <br> Isadar has created another piano masterpiece that should be more widely heard than his previous releases due to the success of Reconstructed. Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1133711 By Various. By Anonymous, Giorgio Mainerio, Michael Praetorius, Pierre Attaignant, Pierre Certon, Pierre Phalese, and Tielman Susato. Arranged by Alastair Lodge. Early Music,Folk,Historic,Medieval,Renaissance. 50 pages. Wold Meridian #733808. Published by Wold Meridian (A0.1133711). This is a companion to my earlier volume Chording to the Dance Masters which presented 44 of my favourite Renaissance Dance band tunes and arranged them as a single melody line with chords derived from the original harmony lines. In this volume I have reunited 22 of the pieces with the lower parts in the score, so that with more collaborators, the fullness of the original arrangement can be heard. The chords are still present, so if the ensemble is short handed, and lines are missing, the arrangements will still work. What is more, by contrasting the melody and chords with the full scoring, it should be possible to work some light and shade into performances. You can hear all the pieces and their chords on YouTube together with contemporary art and historical background material:https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYRWH2nycMkMoIoEYEMVPa_EXY6NVDpNSAs a help to those less confident in playing harmony lines, I have provided links to playlists of videos online for each part of each piece. You will hear the selected line on its own with chords and percussion, with the melody line added on repeats. The final repeat includes the other harmony lines, but the featured line is slightly louder in the mix. The performance starts with a percussion beat introduction to set the tempo.Who were the Publishers and the Dance Masters? What did they do? Sometime around the 1500s, the popularity of dance music exploded in Europe. Dance Masters were collecting chansons and dance tunes from courts and rural parts and were teaching these to new audiences, spreading their arrangements and reflecting the performance styles of the areas from which they had collected the tunes. Publishers were able to take these tunes that were becoming known across the regions and nations and spread them even more widely, thanks to technological innovations in music printing which made it quicker and therefore cheaper to produce collections of these dances in four or more parts. These publishers were often highly accomplished composers in their own right, who were both able to provide distinctive harmony lines and compose new tunes in the style of their sources, feeding the courts with enduring tunes. Composers and printers of this time would often use note values that are double the length of those we would be used to seeing today, and so to make this version more readable, breves have become semibreves or whole notes, semibreves have become minims or half notes and so on. Working with this publication For those just starting out in Early Music, the volume is an ideal introduction, since the ensemble can build from a soloist with accompaniment with the chords alone, and parts can be added in as additional musicians become available. Instrumentation for these pieces was not specified in the original prints. The range of each part is quite limited, and though the harmonies may seem strange at times, key signatures are kind to the less experienced musician. If enthusiasm takes hold, then reproductions of early music instruments are sold by some very talented makers, as well as coming up on auction sites. Otherwise, it is possible to put together a fairly convincing ensemble with recorders, violins, a cello and mandolins, bouzoukis, flutes or guitars and gradually introduce the authentic instruments as they become available.

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.893864 Composed by David Kai. Celtic,Folk,Pop. Score. 5 pages. David Kai #6100233. Published by David Kai (A0.893864). A song celebrating the people of Gander, Newfoundland & Labrador in Canada who helped close to 7,000 stranded airline passengers after September 11, 2001. The story of Gander and the surrounding towns has been immortalized in the Broadway show, Come From Away. The song is written in a Celtic/Newfoundland style. This song is dedicated to my spouse Marly's parents, Isaac and Sybil who were a part of the crew who helped the plane people in Gander through their involvement in the Anglican church. WHEN THE WORLD DROPS IN TO TOWN Words and music by David Kai ©2020 On the 11th of September, in a quiet little town In a place that they call Newfoundland, all the planes were coming down Just how many were arriving, it was hard to know or tell In a quiet town in Newfoundland on the day the towers fell. With ten thousand waiting on the ground, seven thousand on their way The schools and halls and churches were preparing for their stay And not only in Gander, but in places all around ‘Cause you’ve got to pull together when the world drops into town. Chorus: So raise a glass to them, let’s sing a song to cheer For all the workers, cooks and clerks, for all the volunteers Who showed such kindness, who stepped up when chips were down ‘Cause you’ve got to pull together when the world drops into town All the stores they opened up their doors, the supplies, how fast they flew! Take it all to help the plane people, it’s the least that we can do! Aunt Winnie baked two dozen of her partridgeberry pies She said, I think those plane people will be in for some surprise! So the people were all settled, and much to their delight There were home-cooked meals and showers in homes, even trips to see the sights Though they came from countries ‘round the world, they did seem to all fit in And in kitchen parties here and there, new found friends were being screeched in. Chorus: Soon the skies, they were reopened, just a week and they were gone Though the planes took off into the skies all the memories lingered on For what they all remember, and what’s talked of to this day Is how townsfolk cared for people who had come from far away. So let’s sing and let’s be thankful, for each and every one Who showed us how to live together in the year two-thousand one, Let’s celebrate their kindness, for we never will forget, That in Newfoundland a stranger’s just a friend you haven’t met. Chorus:

Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Horn in F, Euphonium - Advanced Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Eric Bolvin. Method, Etudes and Exercises, Repertoire, General Instructional, Technique Training. 76 pages. Published by Faded Duck Music
The Arban Manual is a complete course that takes you through the Arban Method in 69 well organized lessons. You will need The Arban Method to use this course. Each lesson is a balanced day of practice. This version is for the newer, Hooten edition published by Fischer. Why Arban?s Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet andArban?s Famous Method for Trombone have been two of the most widely used brass books for over 100 years. The Arban Manual is simply a guide in how to practice Arban. The Arban Manual will take you step by step through the entire Arban method. The Arban Manual is not a technique book and the practice advice should work well with most brass methodology. How A minimum of one week should be spent on each lesson, although many choose to spend longer. If you are having trouble with one part of a lesson, you may wish to spend more time on that part. Most lessons are divided into six parts that should be practiced in the prescribed order. It is recommended that you rest between each part and try to spread your practicing throughout the day as best you can. Range Considerations Students who are ready to play from Arban should have a ?usable range? up to A (concert G). Many of the easy studies do go this high. Although there are not many really high notes in Arbanby today?s standards, some of the studies can be quite taxing. An example of this is the interval studies on p. 126-129. If you are not able to reach the highest keys at first, go as far you can comfortably, be sure to rest properly, and try to go further the next day. Remember, you will likely play from Arban in one way or another for most of your life, so don?t rush your progress. Warming Up One of the shortcomings of Arban is the lack of solid warm up material. Part I of each lesson is designed to be a warm up. Some teachers and students may find this inadequate for a warm up. Therefore, feel free to supplement the lesson plan with a warm up of your choosing. After your warm up, continue with Part I of the lesson. Performance Etudes I?ve designated some of the more melodic and well balanced etudes as ?performance etudes?. These can be used for auditions or recitals and should be prepared for that purpose. Some teachers or students may have other favorite etudes that they may choose to use for the purpose of performance. All of the characteristic studies and celebrated fantaisies are considered performance pieces. Models Models are different ways of playing an exercise. Many modelsinvolve using different articulations on a given exercise. Arban?suse of models is not extensive so I have chosen to expand on it, giving the student even more practice material. All models must be practiced thoroughly as prescribed in the lessons. The Hard Stuff At some point in your study of Arban you may come across something that you just can?t play, or play at tempo. This often involves triple or double tonguing. Don?t let this discourage you. Practice it diligently and slowly. You may want to stay with it for more than one lesson. After practicing the difficult etude for at least a month, make a note of it and return to it later. Brass playing is a lifetime commitment and you should continue to grow throughout your playing career. Many of the world?s top players can?t play everything in the Arban book. Multiple Tonguing Selecting the best syllables for multiple tonguing is often a problem for brass players and teachers. Although Arbanrecommends ?tu ku?, many have had success using ?tuh kuh?, ?duh guh?, ?tee kee? and many others. Finding your best syllables may take some experimentation. Extending Exercises Beginning with Lesson 44, some of the exercises are reviewed and extended. This is to provide more upper range work, more key work and different models. Transposition Beginning with Lesson 47, exercises are suggested to be transposed for trumpets in different keys. These are the most common transpositions and are only to provide the trumpet player with some basic transposition skills. Bass clef instruments need to substitute other material here such as clef practice. The first transposition is for C trumpet which is useful for reading music in concert pitch. The second transposition is for Ab trumpet which is useful if you play a C trumpet and want to read a Bb part. Songs and duets Some teachers love these and others don?t. I suggest you try them and if you?d like to supplement other pieces that you need to work on, please feel free to do so. For bass clef instruments Although the page numbering is different, the exercises in the bass clef edition are numbered the same as the trumpet edition, therefore making The Arban Manual viable for bass clef instruments. The songs and duets have been left out of the early bass clef version of Arban, although there is now a new version that does include them. Feel free to supplement music of your choice. Some of the articulations and models may not be practical for slide trombone.
