Trilogy on B-A-C-H (2017) uses as its musical material a familiar four-note theme: the letters B-A-C-H (the last name of Johann Sebastian Bach) treated as a musical motive: B-flat, A, C, B-natural (H in German note naming). Starting with Bach himself, this theme has been used by a truly enormous number of composers over the centuries. Most B-A-C-H themed works (at least those for organ), tend to be extremely contrapuntal, likely taking their cue from much of Bach's own organ music. This piece explicitly goes in the other direction and use the theme primarily motivically/melodically and as a generating force for the kind of mixed modality that is typical of Cooman's music. The first movement is an energetic march. The second movement is a lyric meditation containing both an arioso and a short quasi-passacaglia, in which the B-A-C-H motive repeats slowly in the pedals. The last movement is a free fantasia: the motive appears both in chorale-like long notes and as a fast, turning figure. Instrumentation: Organ Duration: 12' Composed: 2017 Published by: Zimbel Press.

The presentation is both scholarly and practical; all of the music has been newly edited from the earliest surviving sources according to a systematic editorial method that preserves as many features of the original notation as possible while making it fully accessible to modern players. In every volume, an informative Introduction sets the music in historical context. Anne Fuzeau Classique propose to discover our facsimiles' music in CD. Regis Allard, historical organ of Saint Michel de Bolbec (Calvados). Mass in the 8th tone for organ - Gaspard Corrette. Processional of the Royal Abbey of Chelles - Guillaume Gabriel Nivers. Romano-Monasticum Gradual - Guillaume Gabriel Nivers. Divine Office for use by the Ursuline Ladies of Dijon - Charles Derey. Improvised verses on the organ, Regis Alard. Alternating with Nivers's 'musical plainchant', Corrette's Mass sounds like a homage of the organ to itself, as it gracefully takes on the role of preacher of the Divine Cult. Regis Allard was trained by Andre Isoir and Michel Chapuis (for several years he had private lessons with the latter) as well as at the Schola Cantorum in Paris, where he graduated. He devotes himself exclusively to the interpretation of early music and participates in numerous events centred on historic instruments in France, Spain, Holland and northern Germany. He was a prize winner in the International Competition of French Music in Toulouse. His first disk, with pieces by Heinrich Scheidemann on the Arp Schnitger organ in the Stade church in northern Germany, received a Choc from Le Monde de la Musique. His latest recording, J. S. Bach's Art of the Fugue under the Hortus label performed on the new instrument of the church Saint Louis en l'isle in Paris, received critical praise. Ad Limina This group of women cantors, all trained in the Conservatory, themselves music teachers, choir directors, soloists, come from either side of the French-Swiss border, whence the name Ad Limina, which means 'at the border'. This ensemble pursues a novel exploration of the paths of religious music, from the baroque period to our day, with emphasis on Gregorian plainchant and European music from the 19th century to contemporary creation.

Commissioned for the 2017 Montréal Organ Festival, Concordia Salus: A Fantasy for Organ received its name from the motto of the city of Montréal, of which the Latin component translates as salvation through harmony. The work divides roughly into 3 sections. The first section introduces two main contrasting themes. The second section develops the main material through a series of gestures that have an improvisatory feeling--something akin to an extended cadenza. The final section of the piece recapitulates the primary thematic material through bold, triumphant, and fanfare-like statements, culminating in a tipple forte, full organ sound.Organ Duration: 8' Composed: 2017 Published by: Distributed Composer.

This large-scale composition (for large organ) is a full-scale recital piece on the well-known hymn tune Rendez a Dieu. The American Organist (Nov 2001) provides the following review of the work: ...a blockbuster of a recital piece, over 20 minutes in length, beginning quietly with a lush harmonic texture, but moving into a brisk toccata-like movement. A quieter movement separates this from the final virtuosic finale, also reflecting the French toccata style. 52 pages Published by: Zimbel Press.

Variations on a Theme of Haydn (2017) was written for organist Christoph Hintermuller who asked for a work based on the national anthem of Germany. The anthem's tune was written in 1797 by Joseph Haydn (1732-1809). (In English-speaking countries, Haydn's tune is sung as the hymn AUSTRIAN HYMN, usually with John Newton's text Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken.) The music consists of five contrasting variations plus a recapitulation of the opening variation. The first variation is broad and festive; the second variation is pastoral in character; the third has a scherzando character; the fourth is marked hypnotic and atmospheric; and the fifth is a quasi-musette. The first variation returns as a finale before a brief coda. Instrumentation: Organ Duration: 8' Composed: 2017 Published by: Zimbel Press.

French organist and composer, Marcel Dupre (1886-1971) is also remembered as a significant pedagogue. His Complete Course in Organ Improvisation is for beginners of Organ improvisation, who have previously acquired some Organ technique. The first volume gives focus to harmonisation of scales and chorales, phrases, cadences, modulation, and form and structure, among other musical aspects. Dupre studied at the Paris Conservatoire with Louis Vierne and Charles-Marie Widor, where he won prizes for Piano, Organ and fugue, as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He was a famous Organ virtuoso and was able to perform the entire works composed for the instrument by J. S. Bach from memory. Dupre's compositions and didactic works remain important to organists today and his Complete Course in Organ Improvisation is no exception. .

The Orgelbüchlein Project is a collective composition project aiming to complete Bach's unfinished manuscript known as 'Orgelbüchlein'. In the 'Little Organ Book', Bach laid out a complete hymnal of short organ chorale preludes, 164 in all, but only completed 46 of them. Why the remaining 118 were left as blank pages, with only a title at the head, remains a mystery, but they inspried organists William Whitehead to found the Orgelbüchlein Project, in which contemporary composers are invited to contribute a piece to completing the collection. The resulting collection, to be published in six volumes, represents a cross-section of the most interesting composers at work today across Europe.More information about the project is available at www.orgelbuechlein.comList of Composers

Three Autumn Sketches after a Watercolor by Maria Willscher (2017) are dedicated to Hans-Peter Bahr. The music is inspired by a watercolor painting by Maria (Neumann) Willscher (1922-1998) entitled Herbststimmung. The three movements explore moods and colors of autumn as reflected in the painting. In the first movement, Herbststimmung (Autumn Mood), a musical line falls under gentle undulation. A central section is a wistful chorale. The second movement, Herbstfarben (Autumn Colors), reflects on the subtle variety and gradations of autumn colors with constantly shifting armonic colors. The final movement, Sonnenuntergang (Sunset), is inspired by the serenely beautiful colors of an autumn sunset, imagining the sun's departing rays illuminating the autumn landscape. With the 2nd Organ Sonata in A flat major of 1871, we encounter a masterpiece which is already fully formed. The first movement, only loosely related to sonata form in the sense of the title Fantasie-Sonate, the atmospheric Adagio espressivo, and the grand finale movement with its fugue and references back to the first movement ensure great success for the grand romantic organ sonata, in spite of its technical demands.

Rhapsody in A (2017) is dedicated to organist Alessandro Bianchi and was written for premiere performance on the 1904 Lewis & Co. organ in Ayr Town Hall, Ayr, Scotland, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the organ concert series there. The title refers both to the tonal/modal center of A and to the first letters of both Alessandro and Ayr. The rhapsody is entirely based on the unaccompanied melody first heard at the outset. This melody serves as the basis of the following contrasting sections; it is used both motivically and to determine the harmonic excursions. The music ends jubilantly.
