Many have tried, but few have been able to match the incredible swing that happens when you combine Billy Byers' arranging with the Count Basie Orchestra. Originally recorded on the Basie album Frankly Basie: Count Basie Plays the Hits of Frank Sinatra, Hey, Jealous Lover is a medium-swing chart that will excite your band and audiences alike! Filled with typical Basie-esque piano solo fills (written out), there is also room for trumpet and tenor saxophone improvisation. The ensemble writing is powerful and swinging; nothing complex or rhythmically awkward, just a great melody with hard swingin' horn lines and tasty solo spots. 5-4-4-4.

Bill Holman, well known for his solo features, originally arranged this iconic tenor saxophone feature, 'Out of Nowhere,' for Bill Perkins and the Stan Kenton Orchestra in the mid '50s. Set as an up-tempo swing, the tenor saxophone is featured throughout and has lots of solo space to make this tune its own. Combine that with a cookin' rhythm section and great swinging ensemble passages, this chart is really happening! This new Finale edition provides cleaner, more correct parts and is easier to read with better page turns. This 'pro' version is the original chart requiring 10-brass. Brass ranges are reasonable in both versions (highest note for trumpet is a written D). 5-5-5-3.

Short, sweet and swingin'! Willie Maiden's arrangement of I'll Be Seeing You packs a whopper in a tiny box, making this chart perfect as an encoure closer for any set. As recorded by Maynard Ferguson and his orchestra on the album Dancing Sessions, Willie's arrangement makes great use of the trombone section as they carry the melody upfront before passing it around to the rest of the band. There is some space for a short trumpet solo before the band comes roaring in at the end to take it out with a punch!
