English.
Bob has created an absolutely thrilling 12 minute work, inspired by his Celtic roots (Towednack is a small area in Cornwall, England). The Celtic influence is heard in the triple-meter settings and the interlude which reflects back on a Riverdance style of music. Tenor sax is featured. Very much in the genre of his Metheny/Mays charts of the past. Commissioned by Riverside Community College (CA) Performed at the August, 1999 Kenton Sounds concert in Los Angeles. No w.w. doubles. The CD on which this piece is recorded is Towednack, Bob Curnow and the SWR Big Band (available from Sierra Music). 5-4-4-4 (opt. vibes and aux. perc.).

Oliver had a great feel for the funky jazz style which was so popular. This chart features tenor sax throughout, and was recorded on the Fantabulous album. It is a very easy chart to play, and it would be a great addition to any big band book. This also could be played by a smaller instrumentation as recorded by Oliver (4 saxes, 2 tpts.2 trbs. 3 rhythm). 5-4-4-3.

This edited version of Where's Teddy (as played and recorded by Maynard Ferguson's Birdland Dream Band) is much more playable for the trumpet section as a whole than the original pro version (which is also available). However, everything else is the same and it does not sacrifice any of the original chart's style and charm. It is a medium-swing minor blues tune with solo space for trumpet, tenor saxophone and drums. 5-4-4-3.

This piece has been in the catalog for a while, but it has been totally recomposed and notated in Finale. It now comes with a full score (and parts). It was written for Stan Kenton, and it features a written piano solo throughout the piece. This is a slow ballad, written in the Kenton tradition. If you're looking for a piano feature in ballad style, this will work very well for you.

Incredible uptempo jazz samba arrangement of a great jazz standard by Dominic Spera. Plenty of solo space for the soloists of your choice then a brass choir section that segues into a Buddy Rich styled shout chorus. Goes back to the samba for the ending.
