Artemis is the Greek goddess of hunting and forests. In western art she is often pictured with deer, lions or bears with a bow in her hand. The tempo of this march is stately and the themes are “concertante†in character making Artemis best suited as a concert march rather than a street march. Technically this march is not too difficult although at times some dexterous fingering is necessary. The trio melody is especially lyrical and offers various sections within the band the possibility to show off their skill in playing the expressive melody. This excellent new concert march is sure to become a classic and be performed time and time again.Het tempo van deze mars is statig en de thema’s zijn concertant van karakter: Artemis is dus eerder geschikt als concertmars dan als loopmars. Technisch is dit werk niet erg lastig om spelen, al wordt af en toe wel wat vingervaardigheidvereist. De triomelodie is echter uitgesproken lyrisch en biedt diverse secties binnen het orkest de mogelijkheid om zich melodisch en expressief te etaleren. Een aangenaam klinkende en prima speelbare concertmars!Artemis ist die griechische Göttin der Jagd und der Wälder. Jan Van der Roost ließ sich zum wiederholten Male von der griechischen Mythologie inspirieren und komponierte diesen Marsch mit gemäßigtem Tempo und konzertanten Themen. Obwohl technisch nicht sehr schwer, erfordert er doch stellenweise etwas Fingerfertigkeit. Der Trio-Teil ist jedoch besonders lyrisch und bietet verschiedenen Registern die Möglichkeit, sich in Melodie und Ausdruck zu beweisen. Kurz gesagt ist Artemis ein ausgezeichneter und gut spielbarer Konzertmarsch, der viele Brass Bands anspricht.Artémis est la déesse grecque de la nature sauvage et de la chasse. Dans l’art occidental, elle est souvent représentée armée d’un arc et de flèches et entourée de cerfs, de lions et d’ours. Évoluant sur un tempo majestueux et développant des thèmes au caractère concertant, Artemis s’inscrit pleinement dans la lignée des grandes marches de concert. Hormis quelques passages nécessitant une plus grande souplesse des doigts, elle ne contient que peu de difficultés techniques. Artemis est une pièce brillante qui convient au plus grand nombre d’Orchestres d’Harmonie.Artemis è la Dea greca della natura selvatica e della caccia. Ad eccezione di qualche passaggio che necessita una maggiore scioltezza delle dita, il brano contiene solo poche difficolt tecniche. Artemis è un pezzo brillante adatto alla maggior parte delle bande.

The hymn tune Rhosymedre is the work of the nineteenth-century Anglican priest John David Edwards, who named it after the village of Rhosymedre in North Wales, where he served as the vicar for 43 years until his death in 1885. Vaughan Williams's organ prelude has been arranged for many different instrumental groups, including orchestra, string quartet and brass quintet, but not until now for brass band. This arrangement was prepared in 2008 to mark the 50th anniversary of the composer's death and was first performed by the Royal Northern College of Music Brass Band at the 2008 RNCM Festival of Brass, conducted by Christopher Houlding.

‘No Man’s Land’ was commissioned by the ‘Noordlimburgse Brass Band’. Thierry Deleruyelle has written this work in 2018, 100 years after the end of World War 1. This work is related to his first work written for brass band, Fraternity, which tells the story about the mining accident in Courières, France. Countries such as Belgium and Germany helped France. Eight years later World War 1 broke out. Instead of helping each other, no man’s land arose.No Man’s Land werd geschreven in opdracht van de ‘Noordlimburgse Brass Band’ uit België. Thierry Deleruyelle schreef dit werk in 2018, exact 100 jaar na het einde van Wereldoorlog 1. Het idee achter dit werk sluit aan bij zijn allereerste werk voor brassband, Fraternity, dat verhaalt over de mijnramp in Courrières, Frankrijk. Daarbij kregen ze enorm veel hulp en steun van buurlanden België en Duitsland. Acht jaar later brak Wereldoorlog 1 uit. In plaats van elkaar te helpen ontstond er een Niemandsland.No Man’s Land wurde von der Noordlimburgse Brass Band in Auftrag gegeben. Thierry Deleruyelle schrieb das Werk im Jahr 2018 - 100 Jahre nach dem Ende des ersten Weltkrieges. Es ist mit seinem ersten Werk für Brass Band - Fraternity - verwandt, das die Geschichte eines Minenunfalls in Courières, Frankreich, erzählt. Länder wie Belgien und Deutschland halfen Frankreich. Elle est liée sa première composition pour brass band, Fraternity, qui retrace l’histoire de la Catastrophe de Courrières. Des pays tels que la Belgique et l’Allemagne ont apporté leur aide la France. Huit ans après, la Première Guerre Mondiale a éclaté. Au lieu de s’aider les uns les autres, les zones de no man’s land sont survenues.’.
