Its bears the subtitle Lament on the Loss of Musical Thought - some Madrigals for Solo Flute or Flute with any other Instruments. This serves as a playing instruction but doubles at the same time as an outmoded programme: it refers back to the musical origin of the opening lamenting motif, a tradition which was once of its time but is not of our time - namely the Lamento genre which gave the title to the Chaconne in Purcell's opera Dido and Aeneas. Almost simultaneously I wrote a second version for Piano (for Piano one-and-a-half hands), which already formulates possible approaches for the performer, in some detail, to the indicated, quasi-canonic version of the piece in the programme. The multiple version Ein Hauch von Unzeit III realizes a concrete version of a formal state which floats between strict canon and aleatoric principles: each of the musicians who are spread throughout the hall introduces their own idiomatic translation of the flute part. And so the music exists, omnipresent, not only spatially throughout the hall, but also formally in a sort of fluctuating simultaneity. For that reason, it was my express wish to any potential interpreter that they should construct entirely their own version of the piece. A healthy number of musicians have responded to my suggestion - versions of the piece have now been made for guitar (Cornelius Schwehr, Gunther Schneider), accordion (Hugo Noth), double bass (Fernando Grillo), violin (Hansheinz Schneeberger), viola, violoncello, and double bass (trio basso, Koln), violoncello (Michael Bach), trombone (Andrew Digby) and, created by myself, a sung version for voice (to words by Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel und Max Bense), and for viola. The most important requirement for the whole piece is absolute stillness, which should as far as possible emanate from the performer. The pauses are occasionally in this respect the most important element. These may, if one can find the necessary stillness, become very long.Ein Hauch von Unzeit (A Breath of the Untimely) - time almost dissolves!(Klaus Huber, 1989/2014 - translation: David Alberman)CD:Jean-Luc Menet (Bass flute)CD Traversieres 120.270Jean-Luc Menet (fl)CD STR 37039Bibliography:Zimmermann, Heidy: Zeitgestaltung im Kompositionsprozess bei Klaus Huber - dargestellt anhand von Skizzen, in: Mnemosyne. Songs are part of the childhood. This collection aims to offer a variety of songs for string ensembles, such as young string orchestras or string classes. Included are older and newer songs, songs of various origins, and songs for different occasions and with themes ranging from animals to seasons and times of day to tongue-in-cheek scary subjects.Taking up the motif of diversity in their own way, the six-part arrangements are not confined to the usual cadence harmonies and accompaniment forms, There is something special to discover in each of the songs. Small vignettes with lyrics to them are found in the parts, and can be taken up in rehearsals and lessons. The songs begin with fingering positions and bowing techniques that are usually learned at the beginning of lessons, then gradually increase in difficulty, though the booklet as a whole is set at the elementary level. Suggestions for improvisation and pieces for practicing certain requirements round out the booklet. Special emphasis is placed on playing together - true to the title: Together on Strings!

German text. The title “Jeita†has a double meaning. Firstly, Jeita is the name of a district in Lebanon, noted for the karstic limestone cavernsin the almost nine-kilometre wide Nahr a-Kalb Valley. Secondly, the roots of the word “Jeita†are also found in the Aramaic word “GeÂ’ittsâ€, which means “roaring†or “noiseâ€. Michaela Rea Catranis had a cave as the symbol of isolation and creativity in mind whilst composing her work for cello solo. “A quiet, hidden place of self-observationâ€, as the composer says. In addition, the “roaring†in this piece plays an important role; Catranis calls it “a primordial, energising, deep-bellied and life-giving roar, notan aggressive one. It represents the impulse of creative energy: both the instinct to create and the flow of energy awakened throughthe process of creation.â€.

The Cellokasten (Cello Case) offers a wealth of varied material for the beginner. Like the successful Geigenkasten, it can be used in teaching as a supplement to any cello method. And with its steadily increasing level of difficulty within each chapter, it can also serve as a kind of instruction method as well. The chapters are devoted to the following topics: - Games of posture and movement - Music on open strings and fundamentals of bowing technique - Playing with close stops and wide-stretch stops, high and low - Combination of close stop, wide-stretch stop and chromaticism - Playing, reading, notating rhythms; reading and notating tones as well as improvisation in the chapter Inventing Music . Along with lyrics for singing, there is almost always a second part, which lets two cello lovers make music together. The book offers songs and cello pieces for a variety of occasions and for every season. Interesting information about the instrument is also scattered throughout the book. This large volume is designed for the young beginner cellist, and is attractively presented with large print and enchanting colour illustrations. Lautsprecher simulieren RAUM bereits in ihrer Sende-Information. (Nicolaus A. Huber, 27. Nicolaus A. The theme of this work is man & machine, as commissioned by Michael Nicolas. The theme is represented in that the Cellist becomes both in the piece man & machine where man indicates performing expressively with emotion, and a musical approach to the music, and machine indicates more precise rhythmic and technical accuracy, a somewhat stricter approach to the music. These two approaches gradually transition from one to another throughout the work. Anna Thorvaldsdottir frequently works with large sonic structures that tend to reveal the presence of a vast variety of sustained sound materials, reflecting her sense of imaginative listening to landscapes and nature. Her music tends to portray a flowing world of sounds with an enigmatic lyrical atmosphere.

'Die hangende Figur ist Judas' (The hanging figure is Judas) was commissioned by Dr. Margitta Giera as a gift for the German sculptor Michael Langer. Hesketh's first ideas for the work came from a photograph of the Great Tympanum carving of the Last Judgement at St. Foy Cathedral in Conques, France showing an image of the hanged Judas surrounded by mocking demons. Two violent outer movements frame a bleak central section with each movement of the piece unfolds a different perspective of a swinging motif, be it a chord, a gesture or a rhythm. This is a demanding work which will challenge the very best players.
