SATB Choir, Piano SKU: CA.926600 From: Sonne, Mond und Sterne. Composed by Peter Schindler. Carus digital: Extra digital products. Full Score. Duration 3 minutes. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.926600). ISBN 9790007295554. German. Peter Schindler's full-length secular choral work Sonne, Mond und Sterne (Sun, Moon and Stars) narrates a love story based on old texts which are given a new interpretation through these musical settings. Some individual numbers were published in spring, and now more movements with piano accompaniment are available in print and digitally.- choral work of medium difficulty- will appeal to experienced Brahms Requiem singers as well as ambitious chamber or youth choirs with a gospel, pop or jazz background-cross-over between jazz, chanson, and chamber music Peter Schindler about O Ewigkeit:We step on the stage of life, pull the curtains wide open and venture a glance at the eternal course of the stars. A powerful choral tutti sounds, the key note of C held on in the basses emphasizes the steadfastness of eternity, and above this is chromatic movement in the upper voices which produces friction. In the following softer central section, female and male voices sing separately. They sing in characteristic Gregorian style in vivid images of the immeasurable sand in the ocean, of tears and trickles, of the great beginning and the end of the cosmos. The verses from 1625 convey an image of astonishment, of seeking and not least also of comfort. The text functions as a framework, as it is repeated in a shortened form in the last number of Sonne, Mond und Sterne. It encapsulates the many life situations which are sketched and sung about in the staged cantata in metaphysical questions. $5.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Gott ist unsre Zuversicht BWV 197 was probably written in the second half of the 1730s for a wedding, no further details of which are known. In the opening chorus in particular, it features quite a sizeable orchestra. The text of the cantata has one major theme - trust in God! In a magnificent lullaby (movement 3) all cares are sung to sleep. The other arias, with their exceptionally exquisite combinations of scorings, make the cantata into a quite special work, albeit one which is associated with a particular occasion. The wedding cantata BWV 197 draws on older material for some of its movements. Two movements are parodies on arias from the incomplete surviving Christmas cantata Ehre sei Gott in der Hohe, BWV 197a, including the lullaby O du angenehmes Paar, of which only the last quarter survives from the Christmas cantata - it is O du angenehmer Schatz there. By using the later version, Diethard Hellmann has been able to reconstruct the original version of this dreamlike beautiful movement; however, the complete Christmas cantata cannot be reconstructed from the sources. Carus Verlag #CV 31.052/23. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3105223). Language: German/English. Text: Birkmann, Christoph. It only became apparent a few years ago that the text of the soprano cantata Falsche Welt, dir trau ich nicht came from the collection Gott-geheiligten Sabbaths-Zehnden by the Leipzig theology student and Bach pupil Christoph Birkmann, printed in 1728 in Nuremberg. Birkmann was probably therefore the author of the text. The cantata was written for the 23rd Sunday after Trinity, which fell on 24 November 1726 in the year of its first performance. As in other cantatas in the first annual cycle, Bach chose an instrumental sinfonia as the opening movement - here the first movement of the 1st Brandenburg Concerto. The soprano soloist has two recitatives and two arias, in which the falsehood of the world is juxtaposed with trust in God. The cantata text is rounded off with the first verse of the chorale In dich hab ich gehoffet, scored for four-part chorus, as is usual with Bach. With the use of two horns and three oboes added to the string ensemble, the cantata has colorful and varied orchestration. Single Part, Cello 1-3. Composed 1729. BWV 174. 12 pages. Duration 23 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.174/15. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3117415). ISBN 9790007209681. Text language: German/English. Text: Henrici (Picander), Christian Friedrich. The cantata Ich liebe den Hochsten von ganzem Gemute (I love the Almighty with all of my spirit) BWV 174 was composed for Whit Monday 1729. It probably belongs to Bach's fourth cycle of cantatas, known as the Picander cycle. Most of the cantata is taken up by the introductory Sinfonia. This is a reworking of the first movement of the famous third Brandenburg Concerto BWV 1048. Bach took the movement almost unaltered and simply added wind parts to strengthen the sound to the nine string parts (three violins, three violas, three violoncelli) and basso continuo - two corni da caccia and two oboes, reinforced by two violins, an oboe da caccia (taille) and a viola. The following movements (aria, recitative, aria) form a distinct contrast with their chamber music scoring (two oboes or one or two string parts with basso continuo). A simple four-part chorale concludes the cantata. Score and part available separately - see item CA.3117400. $9.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

A simple four-part chorale concludes the cantata. Score and part available separately - see item CA.3117400. $9.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Karin Wollschlager. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. Violin solo 2. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas, Whitsun, Praise and thanks. Single Part, Violin solo 3. Composed 1729. BWV 174. 12 pages. Duration 23 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.174/13. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3117413). ISBN 9790007209667. Solo Soprano voice, SATB Choir, 3 Oboes, basson, 2 trumpets, 2 Violin, Viola, Basso continuo SKU: CA.3105214 Cantata for the 23rd Sunday after Trinity. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Ulrich Leisinger. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. Basso continuo. Cantatas, End of the church year, Trinity. Single Part, basso continuo. Composed 1726. BWV 52. 12 pages. Duration 18 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.052/14. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3105214). ISBN 9790007206345.
