John Joubert's I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes for SSAA choir with Piano accompaniment. Commissioned by Rustenburg High School for Girls Cape Town on the occasion of their 75th Anniversary 1969.

I Wonder as I Wander. Already a haunting melody, this setting is even more captivating with the addition of the oboe obbligato. Although piano can always accompany adequately, the use of harp furthers the mystic sonorities. This is a stunning Christmas concert selection of medium difficulty.

This wonderfully evocative a cappella setting of the Irving Berlin classic 'What'll I Do?' features the warm and lovely melody supported by gently pulsing vocal accompaniment sure to create a magical moment in concert! 

Five choral songs. Par SCHONHERR CHRISTOPH. Since his earliest childhood, Christoph Schönherr has been fascinated by all things nautical. His cycle Von Schiffen, Meer und Wind (Of Ships, Sea and Wind) brings together verses by different poets that explore the sea in its various guises. The work's selected poems describe the vast ocean that can fill us with a deep sense of tranquility, but can also bring mortal danger with its storms and destructive waves. Boats, and especially sailing ships, are often associated with freedom, a sense of weightlessness, and security. But if we are caught in a storm at sea, we suddenly find ourselves at the mercy of nature. We are made painfully aware of our own insignificance in the greater scheme of things.According to the composer and passionate sailor: ?In the five choral songs I attempt to characterize the atmosphere of the texts and the emotions they contain. This work was commissioned by DOM in association with Canty who gave the first performance in York Minster on 23rd October 2008.This brief motet for four voices and renaissance bray harp was written in the South of France inFebruary 2007. It is a setting of two Hadiths or sayings attributed to the Prophet Mohammed. The words convey something of the great mystery of the Absolute and the Beautiful One who is immanent and yet hidden. The music shouldbe performed with great purity in a resonant acoustic. If a renaissance bray harp is not available the harp part may be played on a contemporary instrument. I was a Hidden Treasure; And I longed to be known; So Icreated the world.God is a Beautiful Being And He loves Beauty.
