SAATTBar vocal soli, SSAATTBB choir SKU: CA.738610 Composed by Michael Waldenby. Contemporary Choir Music. Sacred vocal music, Motets. Full score. Op. 49, No. 1. 12 pages. Duration 8 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 07.386/10. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.738610). ISBN 9790007166281. Text language: Latin. The composition of Verba Ecclesiastes begun in 2002 as a result of a comission from my friend Gary Graden. For many years I've found those words from the Old Testament very fascinating - as everyone knows, I'm not alone. Vanity of vanities! All is vanity! Writers, painters and filmmakers have for centuries been dealing with the subject and I found it high time to set the famous words to music. The suite, for soloists, choir and violoncello, consists of six movements, each one enlighting a different view of life and afterlife, and also, as Matthew Arnold puts it of human misery. Yet the suite is full of hope and humanity, specially recognizable in the two central parts, Dulce lumen and Omnia tempus habent. The music was completed in 2009. UPC: 680160923410. Key: E major. Text: Rudyard Kipling. This classic poem by Rudyard Kipling can, at first, sound like a series of stipulations for manhood. While it is all wonderful advice, I chose to set this text in a way that gradually transitions from if you can to simply, you can!As the choir moves into the contrapuntal section at m. 37, I imagine each section of the choir cheering the other sections on as they strive for their own personal greatness. The basses kick off the cheers of you can at m. 45, with the whole choir joining at m. 49, leading into the rousing final section of the result of strong personal choices: Yours is the earth, and everything that's in it.If optional text is needed for your ensemble from m. 58 to the end, consider You'll know the race is run or a text of your choosing. . $2.30 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 1 to 2 weeks | | |
