The supreme and most individual of all the song motets of the entire Late Renaissance period: this is Friedrich Blume's evaluation of Lechner's choral music. The focus of this choir book is on Leonhard Lechner's compositions in the German language. With them, he realized one of the concepts of the Reformation which went hand in hand with Martin Luther's translation of the Bible: the German-language chorale and the German-language motet. Lechner followed the ideals of the Reformation more consciously than most composers; indeed, he embodied their music-dramatic perceptions. With his conception of word and sound, he concentrated on furthering the development of the German song towards a freer strophic song which leads to a unique compaction of the words.

When the revised English translation of the Catholic Mass was introduced in 2010, Tony Alonso’s Mass of Joy and Peace quickly became one of the most widely sung eucharistic settings. In this edition, Tony has adapted the eucharistic acclamations for ecumenical use. The Joy and Peace acclamations will find a home in organ-based worship or celebrations led by piano, guitar, or contemporary ensemble. A setting of great versatility and accessibility, Joy and Peace will help inspire the sung prayer of assemblies across Christian denominations. This is the assembly edition.

This new collection by Marty Haugen features psalms, biblical canticles, and a new setting of the Te Deum for use in the jubilee year! Part of Marty's Soli Deo Gloria series, Come, Let Us Sing for Joy offers a wealth of liturgical resources for the Church in this millennium year and beyond! Recommended for popular use in the United States throughout the Jubilee, Te Deum: You Are God was commissioned by the National Catholic Conference of Bishops Subcommittee on the Third Millennium. Written in a call-and-response form, this setting makes the most of assembly participation, and it also offers a Spanish translation by Jaime Cortez.
