During his lifetime, Heinrich Schaffer (1808-1874) was a famous singerand singing teacher. With his compositions for male-voice choir, hewas very influential in northern Germany. Nowadays, little is left ofthis man?s fame. Only his song Die Post im Walde is regularly performedwith much enjoyment by many men?s choirs. This beautiful song is nowavailable for trumpet and concert band. Heinrich Schäffer (1808-1874) was een befaamd zanger en zangpedagoog. Met zijn composities voor mannenkoor was hij in Noord-Duitsland zeer invloedrijk, maar van zijn beroemdheid is nog maar weinig over. Alleen zijn lied Die Postim Walde is onsterfelijk, met name in de mannenkoorwereld. De charme van het lied ligt in het verhalende karakter ervan. Het beeld van een postiljon, bij nacht rijdend door een bos, nu en dan signalen spelend, denkend aan zijngeliefde… het wordt moeiteloos verklankt in Die Post im Walde.Mit seinen Kompositionen, vornehmlich für Männerchor geschrieben, hatte der Sänger und Gesangslehrer Heinrich Schäffer großen Einfluss im norddeutschen Raum. Sein Lied Die Post im Walde wurde auch über die Grenzen dieser Region hinaus berühmt und wird heute noch gerne gesungen. Wil van der Beek machte das schöne Lied nun auch dem Blasorchester zugänglich. Seule la chanson Die Post im Walde (Le Postillon dans les bois), composée sur un texte d’Otto Friedrich Gruppe - est parvenue résister aux vicissitudes du temps. Nombreux sont les chœurs d’hommes qui la chantent encore.L’attrait de cette chanson réside dans son caractère narratif. DiePost im Walde raconte l’histoire d’un postillon (cocher) qui la nuit, traverse la forêt au galop, sonne du cor et pense ceux qu’il aime.

‘The Fellowship’ is a musical homage to friendship and camaraderie, symbolised in two alternating, complementary themes. The themes are based on popular songs from two sister municipalities, one lying in Normandy (France), and the other in Rheinland-Pfalz (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany). Through the merging of their songs in this composition, their bond of friendship is sealed for eternity. The Fellowship staat voor vriendschap en kameraadschap. Deze symboliek komt tot uiting in twee thema’s, die elkaar afwisselen en elkaar aanvullen. Het ene thema is gebaseerd op een Frans lied, het andere op een Duits lied. Beide zijn populaire liederen uit twee partnergemeenten, waarvan de ene in Normandië (Frankrijk) ligt, en de andere in Rheinland-Pfalz (Duitsland). Door de samensmelting van hun liederen in deze compositie wordt hun vriendschapsband voor altijd beklonken.The Fellowship ist eine musikalische Hommage auf die Freundschaft und Kameradschaft. Peter Kleine Schaars schreef een arrangement waarin desfeer van dit Springsteen- nummer duidelijk naar voren komt.Bruce Springsteen schrieb Fire bereits im Jahre 1977 für sein Idol Elvis Presley, der jedoch im selben Jahr starb, ohne auf die ihm zugeschickte Komposition reagieren zu können. Die erste Veröffentlichung von Fire stammt nicht von Springsteen, sondern von seinem Kollegen Robert Gordon, 1978 wurde der Song mit den Pointer Sisters bekannt. Peter Kleine Schaars schuf nun eine Blasorchesterbearbeitung dieser Interpretation. En 1977, Bruce Springsteen - surnommé The Boss - compose la chanson Fire qu’il envoie son idole Elvis Presley dans l’espoir que celui-ci la chante. Elvis Presley décède la même année sans connaîtra un certain succès avec la reprise des Pointer Sisters avant de faire le tour du monde dans une version live de légende signée par The Boss lui-même.
