I will arise and go to Jesus is a portion of the text that accompanies the traditional American melody Come Ye Sinners Poor and Needy on which this arrangement is based. A dancing, two-measure motif sets up the entrance of the melody in measure 5. The mood shifts to open, airy texture that swaps the melody between the upper and lower registers. These two thoughts are carried through a few key changes before ending on a strong chord. Set in d minor, f minor, and g minor, this piece is 65 measures.

Arranged for 3 to 5 octave handbell choir with 1 octave of handchimes. Level 2. Robert James Lamb's creative setting of this early American melody is sure to delight listeners. Based around the Westminster Quarters change ring, which plays in one form or another throughout most of the piece, the piece moves from simple and prayerful to grand and triumphant and back. Much of the melody is scored on a separate staff for six handchimes, which may be played by a separate chime choir or soloist, or by a solo C instrument. A delightful, new take on a grand, old hymn.

For 3 to 6 octave handbell choir and optional 2 octaves of handchimes. Rated level 4. Ron Mallory's original piece works well not just in concert, but also as a non-traditional choice for Easter Sunday service, or any other celebratory time during the church year. A driving, syncopated melody -- at first lightly accompanied, then propelled by malleted bells -- gives way to a gentler, reflective middle section with a melody on chimes. The initial idea returns at the end to bring the piece to a final, triumphant conclusion. A fun piece both to ring and hear!
