A Panorama of Songs fills a want that has been felt for decades. A selection of songs in six European languages from the 16th to the mid-20th century encompassing every musical period, it seeks to help beginner-level students of voice teachers and repetiteurs, and foremost the singers themselves. The series brings a breath of fresh air and new works to the conventional Lied repertoire, truly offering a new panorama. Using the means of modern technology it also provides immense help in learning and performing the songs. The three volumes of the series are arranged by level of difficulty, and all of them are available for high and low voices (a volumes for high voices, b volumes for low voices). Each volume is a complete unit in itself, including all six languages (English, French, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish) and presenting a cross-section of styles from the early Baroque to the 20th century. Interpretation of the songs is facilitated by literal English and Hungarian translations of their texts, and the reading of the Cyrillic script is assisted by transliteration (again in English and Hungarian). Ornamentation suggestions for the performance of the Baroque works are also included. The printed music is accompanied by additional useful material to help the learning process, available online at www.emb.hu/downloads. The website contains the piano accompaniments of all of the songs, as well as all the original texts recited by native speakers.

A reprint edition of these important vocal works by the turn-of-the-century French composer, Cécile Chaminade (1857-1944). Affiliating herself with nationalist composers such as Saint-Saëns and Gounod, her style was very much rooted in both Romantic and French tradition. Her tuneful and highly accessible works were also tremendous favorites in the United States. Chaminade's Album of Songs was originally published between 1892 and 1893 and included thirty-seven total songs across two volumes, with versions for both high voice and low voice made available. LudwigMasters has made all thirty-seven songs available, with three books for each volume, totaling six books each for both high and low voices. Included in Volume 1, Book 3: Amour d'automne (W276, 1889); Souhait (W264, 1886); Colette (W285, 1891); L'absente (W271, 1886); L'anneau d'argent (W284, 1891); Amoroso (W283, 1891); Sur la plage (W286, 1892).

This edition belongs to “Musique vocale françaiseâ€, a series devoted to French vocal repertoire – both in original and transposed key – designed for students and teachers as well as professionals; it includes 35 songs for high voice, with original poems and English translations, that Camille Saint-Saëns composed throughout his entire career. The texts he chose for his music are proof of his excellent literary taste. It is not always easy to see a clear logic when looking at the entire corpus of the composer's melodies, coming to a total of around one-hundred and twenty works. Camille Saint-Saëns was one of the composers responsible for bringing nobility to French melody, thus paving the way for the generation, that of Gabriel Fauré and Henri Duparc, which would elevate it to its highest level.

Composed in 1913-1914, this collection of thirteen songs sets poems by Francis Jammes from "Tristesses" (1905) for high voice and piano. Lili Boulanger (1893-1918) directed that, "all of these melodies should be sung with the feeling of evoking a past that has remained full of freshness." Dedicated to Gabriel Fauré, like most of her small output, the work was first published posthumously in 1919, a year after the composer's tragically short life ended. Reprint edition. Songs included: 1. Demain fera un an.
