The blues emanated from the early Negro work songs uttering their concerns for equality, freedom and for a better life. The plaintive cry in the dark of a wandering coyote reminds the jazz musician of the plaintive expression of those blues. Coyote Blues has a driving feel and emphasizes off-beat accents to teach young bands to really swing.
