This composition, based on the hymn Praise to the Lord, is comprised of eight separate parts that can be played together as a concert piece or opening work. The A and B sections are different openings, C is four-part arrangement of the hymn, D is a solo for four saxophones, or two trumpets and two trombones, E is a calm intermezzo, F a solo for trumpet or cornet, and G and F finally are a majestic or peaceful closing section. Deze compositie bestaat uit acht op zich zelfstaande delen die u zelf tot een concert- of openingswerk kunt samenstellen. Het is gebaseerd op het kerkelijke lied Lof zij de Heer. De delen A en B bieden twee verschillende openingen.C is een vierstemmig deel van het lied. D is dedoeld als solo voor vier saxofoons of twee trompetten en twee trombones. E is een rustig intermezzo. Diese Komposition, die auf dem Kirchenlied Lobet den Herren basiert, besteht aus acht einzelnen Teilen, die individuell zu einem Konzert oder Eröffnungswerk zusammengestellt werden können. Die Teile A und B sind unterschiedliche Eröffnungen, C ein vierstimmiger Satz des Liedes, D ist für ein Solo für vier Saxophone oder zwei Trompeten und zwei Posaunen, E ein ruhiges Intermezzo, F ein Solo für Trompete oder Kornett und G und F schließlich ein majestätischer oder ein ruhiger Schlussteil. Carl Wittrock est né en 1966 Goor (Pays-Bas). Sa carrière musicale a commencé la musique de Goor, où il a étudié le violon et la clarinette. Depuis 1984, il dirige des orchestres différents et il est également professeur de musique. Il composa sa première pièce en 1985. Depuis, son talent n’a cessé de croître, résolument tourné vers un sytle inspiré et novateur. In the year 1368 a rapacious character takes up residence in the castle of Rijnesteyn at Cothen.
He is Johan,bastard son of the Bishop of Utrecht.Round this now so peaceful castle eventful matters are enacted.

In part one Johan and Willem Gulik of Guelders set out to do battle against King Charles of France.
On their return,in part two, Johan captures two French goldsmiths in Hainault and incarcerates them at Castle Rijnesteyn.
Part three is a musical representation of a courtly ballet in medieval style.
The final part relates how Jan van Rijnesteyn goes to war against Hendrik van Vianen and Lord of 'Goy,Viscount of Utrecht.Jan loots hispossessions and threathens to conquer all. In het jaar 1368 betrekt een roofzuchtig heerschap het kasteel Reijnestein te Cothen.Het is Johan, de bastaardzoon van de Utrechtse bisschop.
Rond dit nu zo vredig gelegen ridderslot hebben zich toen geruchtmakende taferelen afgespeeld.

In het eerste deel trekt Johan met Willem Gullik, de hertog van Gelre, ten strijde tegen koning Karel van Frankrijk.
De terugreis speelt zich af in het tweede deel. Tijdens deze reis neemt Johan in Henegouwen twee Franse goudsmeden gevangen en sluit ze op in de kerker van slot Rijnesteyn.
Deel 3 is de muzikale weergave van een hoofs ballet in middeleeuwse stijl.
In het laatste deel wordt verteld hoe Jan van Rijnesteyn in 1396 ten strijde trekt tegen Hendrik van Vianen en de heer van't Goy, burggraaf van Utrecht. Jan plundert diens goederen en dreigt diens bezittingen te veroveren.

Everybody is familiar with the zoo. Remember all those animals? Big ones, small ones. Water dwellers, air-bound birds, long legged hoppers, creeping bugs. All animals seem to have their own peculiarities.
Now, Carl Wittrock (who also composed the world-famous master piece 'Lord Tullamore') invites you to join him in a musical exploration of the animal kingdom.
An invitation you must not reject! In his 'A view at the Zoo', Wittrock presents ten distinctly different animals as compositions of music. You may be familiar with some of those animals, such as the white swan or the butterfly, but there are also more exotic breeds, like the lion, the monkey, or theelephant.

The composition as a whole is built around a structure of shorter fragments reminiscent of 'The Paintings Exhibition' by Moussorgsky. The parts are decorated with recognizable illustrations of the different animals. At each composition, Wittrock looks for something that can fascinate both musicians and listeners. In this he succeeded extremely well.

Carl Wittrock(componist van o.a. het wereldberoemde ‘Lord Tullamore’) neemt je in ‘A View at the Zoo’ mee op een muzikale ontdekkingstocht door het dierenrijk die je absoluut niet mag missen.
In totaal komen we gedurende deze wandeling10 compleet verschillende dieren tegen. Naast de dieren die je niet zomaar op straat tegenkomt, zoals de leeuw, de aap en de olifant, is er ook aandacht voor dieren waar we misschien al iets beter bekend mee zijn, zoals de zwaanen de vlinder.

De compositie bestaat uit korte deeltjes die qua opzet doen denken aan ‘De Schilderijententoonstelling’ van Moussorgsky. De partijen zijn versierd met herkenbare illustraties van de verschillende dieren.Wittrock zoekt bij elke compositie naar iets wat zowel de musici als de luisteraars kan boeien en dat is bijzonder goed gelukt!

As he did before in the often played and commonly appreciated ‘Lord Tullamore’, in which he poetically depicted the landscape and the cultural elements of a small Irish village, in his composition ‘The Road to the West’ Carl Wittrock has sketched pioneer existence in America in a cinematic manner.
In ‘The Road to the West’ the composer has tried to capture images of pioneer life during the period dating from 1850 to 1890, the days of the so-called Wild West.
In those days, the Wild West used to be the territory west of civilization, the domain of cowboys, trappers, and other fortune hunters.

In the firstscene a lonely adventurer struggles against nature and the elements.

Fort Fincastle was built in 1793 by royal governor 'Lord Dunmore at an unusual location: Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas.
The name of the fort: Fort Fincastle' comes from Dunmore's second title of Viscount Fincastle '( Earl of Fincastle).

Werken op het fort betekent veel wachten en is best eenzaam,toch moet je altijd alert en waakzaam zijn voor de immer op de loer liggende aanval.
Na het afslaan van de zoveelste aanval heerst er een gevoel van tevredenheid en zien we het fort trots liggen op de heuvel die bovenNassau uit torent.
