Fanfare Band - Grade 4 SKU: BT.DHP-1053788-020 Arranged by Peter Kleine Schaars. Peter's Popular Collection. Pop & Rock. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 2005. De Haske Publications #DHP 1053788-020. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1053788-020). English-German-French-Dutch. This medley has been inspired by Peter Kleine Schaars’ previous experience that every concert should end with a selection of unbeatable melodies. With this in mind Peter Kleine Schaars has chosen some of his favourite pop songs and combined them to form this lively medley. Hits include That’s the Way I Like It, Boogie Down, One Day I’ll Fly Away, Fantasy and Street Life. A fantastic way to bring any concert to a close.
That’s the Way (I Like Them).
That's the Way (I Like Them). Fanfare Band - Grade 3 SKU: BT.AMP-282-020 Quelle est cette odeur agreable. Arranged by Philip Sparke. Anglo Music Midway Series. Concert Piece. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 2009. Anglo Music Press #AMP 282-020. Published by Anglo Music Press (BT.AMP-282-020). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. ‘Whence is that Goodly Fragrance Flowing?’ is the first line of an old French Christmas song that originated in the 17th century. In 1728 John Gay used this joyous and markedly festive melody that honours Jesus Christ and His miraculous birth in his Beggar’s Opera. Philip Sparke has given this melody a new lease of life with his charming and imaginative arrangement for the Christmas season.
$130.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Fanfare Band - Grade 3 SKU: BT.GOB-000609-020 Composed by David Well. Set (Score & Parts). Gobelin Music Publications #GOB 000609-020. Published by Gobelin Music Publications (BT.GOB-000609-020). David Well composed 'Frida's Whiskers' in commemoration of his own cat, who met an untimely end. Frida (whose real name was 'Godefrida van Coopersburg thoe Nieuwenhuys') was a lively creature, who led a playful and uncomplicated life. She used to sleep in her basket for hours, but when she woke up she upset the entire house and its furnishing. Curtains were inspected from top to bottom and flower pots fell from window-sills just like that! Outside, in the open air she was in her element. She used to frolic, bouncing into the air. After such playful moods she would return to her basket tired but satisfied where, being the cleanly cat that shewas, she subjected her entire body, whiskers included, to a thorough wash.
$143.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Fanfare Band - Grade 3 SKU: BT.DHP-1125214-120 Composed by Jacob De Haan. Concert and Contest Collection Brass Band en Fanfare. Score Only. Composed 2012. 40 pages. De Haske Publications #DHP 1125214-120. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1125214-120). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. On a war memorial in the Dutch village of Wons is engraved a list of names to honour the fallen in World War II. This is the basis for the name of this piece. However, this composition was written for everyone who has made Wons what it is today: a pretty place near to Lake IJssel with a comfortable way of life. The piece begins with a celebratory introduction in which the village is presented to the listener. There follows a delightful rhythmic and high-tempo theme that reflects the happiness, innocence and carefree atmosphere before the war. Now we hear a moody, fragmented theme depicting soldiers shooting. This is brought to a close with dissonant clusters of sound, intoning the dreadful tragedy of the war. The ensuing quiet gives way to a calm middle section in a minor key that portrays both frustration and consolation. The fast tempo of the beginning returns, this time in the form of a victory march. We hear freedom being celebrated. We hear the previous happy, innocent and carefree themes, too. There follows a festive, martial theme, a tribute to the village, before the piece closes with sounds of celebration.
$42.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Fanfare Band - Grade 2 SKU: BT.GOB-000803-120 Composed by William Vean. Score Only. 20 pages. Gobelin Music Publications #GOB 000803-120. Published by Gobelin Music Publications (BT.GOB-000803-120). ‘Panem et Circenses’, Bread and Games were essential for keeping the citizens of ancient Rome in check. While the bread was meant for the poorest among the Romans, the Games were Popular Pastime Number One for everybody. There were different kinds of games, such as chariot races (especially popular with female spectators), or wild-beast fights, where lions, tigers, bulls or bears were set on one another or even on human beings. Most popular, however, were the Gladiator fights.
In ‘Bread and Games’ William Vean depicts one of the many fights in the antique Colosseum. 1. Entrance of the Gladiators: By powerful bugle-calls the attention of the peoplewas asked for, after which the Gladiators entered the Arena at the sound of heroic marching-music. 2.Swordfight: We can hear that the fights were not mere child’s play in this part.On the contrary, they were a matter of life and death and were fought accordingly. 3.Mercy of the Emperor: Sometimes a wounded gladiator could be fortunate, depending on the mercy of the audience. Waving one’s handkerchief meant mercy, a turned-down thumb meant no pardon. The Emperor had the right to take the final decision, but he usually complied with the wish of the majority of the public. 4.Lap of Honour: Gladiators were mainly selected among slaves, convicted criminals, or prisoners of war. Consequently, winning was very important, as it would mean fame, honour and sometimes even wealth. A lap of honour, therefore, was the winner’s due reward.
3. Mercy of the Emperor: In enkele gevallen had een gewonde Gladiator geluk. 4. Lap of Honour: Gladiatoren werden meestal uit slaven, veroordeelde misdadigers of krijgsgevangen geselecteerd. Winnen was daarom erg belangrijk. $26.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 4 to 6 weeks

Fanfare Band - Grade 3 SKU: BT.DHP-1196079-120 Composed by Jan de Haan. Concert and Contest Collection Brass Band en Fanfare. Concert Piece. Score Only. Composed 2019. 32 pages. De Haske Publications #DHP 1196079-120. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1196079-120). English-German-French-Dutch. Centenary 2019 is a three-movement suite based on a local folksong and was commissioned by Chr. Fanfare De Lofstem, from the Dutch province of Friesland, on the occasion of its 100th anniversary in 2019. ‘Awakening Village’, the first movement, musically describes the waking up and coming to life of the village. ‘Bintje Monument’ was inspired by a famous sculpture that was placed to honour headmaster Kornelis Lieuwes de Vries (1854-1929) who developed the well-known potato variety called ‘bintje’. The finale, ‘Journey into the Unknown’ refers to the band’s memorable 2011 concert trip to the United States of America, in which the composer combines elements of thefolksong and fragments from ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’. The piece consists of a wide range of playful and melodic sequences as well as some galvanizing rhythmical passages.
$34.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Fanfare Band - Grade 3 SKU: BT.DHP-1196079-020 Composed by Jan de Haan. Concert and Contest Collection Brass Band en Fanfare. Concert Piece. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 2019. De Haske Publications #DHP 1196079-020. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1196079-020).
Fanfare Band - Grade 2.5 SKU: BT.GOB-000827-020 Composed by Rob Goorhuis. Set (Score & Parts). 146 pages. Gobelin Music Publications #GOB 000827-020. Published by Gobelin Music Publications (BT.GOB-000827-020). Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa in 1451. His father was a wool merchant. Originally he seemed destined to follow in his father’s footsteps, and thus sailed the oceans to countries as far apart as Iceland and Guinea. In 1476 his ship was sunk during a battle off the coast of Portugal. Columbus saved his own life by swimming to shore. In 1484 he conceived the idea of sailing to the Indies via a westward sea route, but it was only in 1492 that he was able to realize this plan. On this first voyage he was in command of three ships: the flag-ship, called the Santa Maria, the Pinta, and the Ni?a. From Spain Columbus sailed via the Canary Islands to the Bahamas, whichhe sighted on October 12th 1492. Without being aware of it Columbus discovered the ‘New World’ he thought he had landed in the eastern part of Asia. The motif from Dvoøák’s 9th Symphony ‘Aus der neuen Welt’ forms a little counterfeit history at this point in the composition. After this first voyage Columbus was to undertake another three long voyages to America. These voyages were certainly not entirely devoid of misfortune. More than once he was faced with shipwreck, mutiny and the destruction of settlements he had founded. After Columbus had left for Spain from Rio Belen in 1503, he beached his ships on the coast of Jamaica. The crew were marooned there and it was only after a year that Columbus succeeded in saving his men and sailing back to Spain with them. In the music the misunderstanding about which continent Columbus discovered in his lifetime resounds, for does this part in the composition not contain Asiatic motifs? Poor Columbus! In 1506 the famous explorer died in Valladolid.
Arme Columbus! Christopher Columbus overlijdt in 1506 in Valladolid. $196.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
