My lecture of the Winterreise does not demand a new expressive interpretation, but instead systematically exercises the freedom which all interpreters allow themselves intuitively, such as: instrumental dilation i. e. acceleration of the pace, transposition into other keys and elaboration of characteristic color timbres. In addition, there are further ways of reading; the music; jumping around in the text, repeating certain lines, interrupting the continuity, comparing different expressions of the same phrase ... All these new possibilities are subjected to my compositional discipline and form autonomous formal processes which are imposed on Schuberts original. The transformation of the piano tones into a multifaceted orchestra full of resonance is only one of many aspects.(Hans Zender)CDs:Hans Peter Blochwitz (Tenor), Ensemble Modern, Conductor: Hans Zender CD BMG 9026-68067-2 Christoph Pregardien (Tenor), Klangforum Wien, Conductor: Sylvain Cambreling CD Kairos 0012002KAIJulien Pregardien (Tenor), Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Kaiserslautern, Conductor: Robert Reimer2 CD's P.RHEI (2016)Bibliography:Adam-Schmidmeier, Eva-Maria von: Schubert interpretieren. It was Christmas Eve, and the frost air was cold and still. The house where the kittens lived was snug and warm. In a twinkling of an eye everything changed. One little kitten dashed out into the night through the unexpectedly opened front door. The search for the lost kitten takes us outside, where we encounter sneaky jumping mice, howling alley cats, snuffling hedgehogs and quacking ducks. In the end, all is happily resolved! Opportunities for mime, movement and dance. If you need to license a school/youth theatre performance of this product, please use the online application form.

Widely acclaimed by music lovers for over a century, Selected Songs of Gabriel Faure (1845-1924) are here collected into an anthology, complete with an audio version in the form of a download card. Excerpted from the 1st collection published in 1879, Au bord de l?eau and Ici bas bestow an aura of internal reverie on Sully Prudhomme?s simple poems, made palpable by the harmonic refinement and vocal fluidity that constitutes the very essence of Faurean charm. Several vocal pages selected in the 2nd volume (1897) continue to be favourites: Les Roses d?Ispahan restored to their dreamy stillness, Les Berceaux whose oscillation evokes the swaying of boats, and the very nostalgic Clair de lune in which Verlaine?s words, set to music for the first time, inspired Faure to write what would become one of his masterpieces: La Bonne Chanson. From this cycle, drunk on lovelorn lyricism, the collection retains Puisque l?aube grandit, an exalted melody if there ever was one, and La lune blanche luit dans les bois, a nocturnal landscape in F sharp major ? two pearls that distil the same mystery of solace..
