Edited by Frauke Heinze. Arranged by Masaaki Suzuki. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. Basso continuo. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas, Whitsun, Mourning, death. Single Part, basso continuo. Composed 1716. BWV 162. 12 pages. Duration 18 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.162/14. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3116214). ISBN 9790007208936. Text language: German/English. The cantata for the 20th Sunday after Trinity. Ah! I see now, as I to the wedding bidden, BWV 162 was first performed on 25 October 1716 in the Castle church at Weimar. During the first year in his position as Thomaskantor, Bach made a revival performance of the cantata on 10 October 1723. For this Leipzig version he added an additional obbligato voice in the first movement and in the final chorale he added a Corno da tirarsi, which played colla-parte with the soprano. However, we do not know what this mysterious instrument looked like. For performances today we recommend using a trumpet or a slide trumpet. The cantata begins not with an introductory chorus, but rather with a sonorous bass aria with a string accompaniment and obbligato trumpet. The following movements, movement 2 through 5, are also performed by vocal soloists. The third movement, a soprano aria, presents a peculiarity: the obbligato wind parts were not contained in the original version of this cantata. Our edition offers a reconstruction for the flute, made by the famous Bach interpreter and expert, Masaaki Suzuki. Score and part available separately - see item CA.3116200. $16.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

SATB vocal soli, SATB choir, bassoon, 2 violins, basso continuo SKU: CA.3115019 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Klaus Hofmann. Arranged by Klaus Hofmann. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. German title: Nach dir, Herr, verlanget mich. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas. Set of Orchestra Parts. Composed circa 1706. BWV 150. Duration 17 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.150/19. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3115019). ISBN 9790007136819. Key: B minor. Language: German/English. The cantata Nach dir, Herr, verlanget mich (O my Lord, I long for thee) BWV 150 is one of the earliest cantatas from Bach's Muhlhausen period. Its authenticity was long disputed, partly because of the stylistic characteristics of this early work, but also because the cantata only survives in sources dating from the period after Bach's death. However, in recent years a hidden dedication to Conrad Meckbach, a member of the Muhlhausen town council and patron of Bach, has been deciphered: the initial letters of the free poetry reveal the acrostic Doctor Conrad Meckbach (in the 18th century spelling), revealing a link to the city of Muhlhausen and almost certainly confirming Bach's authorship of the cantata. The occasion of the composition of the work is still unknown. The small instrumental scoring for just two violins, bassoon, and continuo, plus the fact that only the soprano is given a solo movement, suggest a performance with modest resources. Text Language: Church Slavic. “The Glagolitic Massâ€, one of the 20th century masterpieces of sacred music, has a very complex genesis and constitutes an intricate editorial challenge.
This new critical edition presents two different versions of the work in two separate volumes (B/5-I, BA 6862 und B/5-II, BA 6863): the “September 1927†version which the composer completed before the first rehearsals and subsequent premiere in Brno and the version he partly reworked for the first Prague performance in April 1928. This second version was then revised further and published after Janacek’s death by Universal Edition Wien in 1930. Known as the “final authorised version“, it has been newly edited for this publication which is based on the engraver’s copy of the score prepared by Janacek’s regular copyist Václav Sedlacek.
The new Barenreiter edition also contains an informative preface (Cz/Eng/Ger/Fr/Ru) as well as detailed critical commentary. The “September 1927†version can be seen more as a supplement and appears without text commentary.

| Mass in C Major Soli, Mixted choir and accompaniment satb (soli), SATB (choir), Orchestra Carus Verlag

Orchestra SATB vocal soli, SATB choir, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, timpani, 2 violins, viola, basso (cello, double bass, organ) SKU: CA.4068814 Missa in C. Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Edited by Ernst Herttrich. Carus sheet music series: Vocal scores XL. Messe In C Op. 86. Innovative practice aids, Sacred vocal music, Masses, Latin. Single Part, Cello. Op. 86. 16 pages. Duration 50 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 40.688/14. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.4068814). ISBN 9790007220365. Language: Latin. With its tonal language of subjective avowal, the first of Beethoven's two masses opens up new worlds of expression for the liturgical texts of the Mass which are expressly modern and point towards the future. Not to be considered a preliminary work to the Missa solemnis, it is an entirely independent work which set standards for the further development of settings of the Mass in the 19th century. Its newness, of which the composer himself was fully aware (I do not speak gladly of my Mass, or of myself, but I do believe that I have treated the text in a manner in which only few have treated it.), paves a way to an hitherto unknown, contemporary avenue to faith which today is still current. Carus presents this important work of church music history in a new critical edition by the Beethoven expert Ernst Herttrich. Edited by Martin Haselbock. Arranged by Ignaz Xaver Ritter von Seyfried, Joseph Leopold Eybler, and Otto Nicolai. This edition: Paperbound. German title: Stabat Mater (Satb Arr.Salieri) Spira. Sacred vocal music, Lent and Passiontide, Feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Hymns in praise of the Virgin Mary. Full score. Composed 1736/1800/1843. 128 pages. Duration 35 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 97.003/00. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.9700300). ISBN 9790007113124. Language: Latin. Following his death, Pergolesi's last larger composition, the Stabat Mater of 1736, immediately became one of the most popular sacred works of the late baroque-early classical era. Numerous publications made this icon of Italian sacred music known throughout Europe. It was arranged by, among others, J. S. Bach (Tilge, Hochster, meine Sunden, BWV 1083), J. A. Hiller and Abbe Vogler. The most popular arrangement was the one made around 1800 for the Vienna Court Kapelle, in which Antonio Salieri, Franz Xaver Sussmayr and I. X. Ritter von Seyfried added woodwind instruments and obbligato trombones to the string accompaniment. In addition the 2-part texture of the upper voices in the original was arranged for 4 parts with obbligato soli. It was only in this opulent, sonorous version, which Otto Nicolai and three composer colleagues offered to 19th century Viennese music lovers. The piece is of medium difficulty. In the Viennese version it is a rarity that offers an enrichment to the repertoire for choirs wishing to discover something new. $77.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Klaus Hofmann. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. Violin 1. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas, Trinity. Single Part, Violin 1. BWV BWV 69a. 8 pages. Duration 25 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.069/61. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3106961). ISBN 9790007206697. Text language: German/English. Bach's Cantata BWV 69a of 1723, which has remained largely unknown to the present day, is now available for the first time in a practical edition with this Carus publication. It has been unjustly neglected as it was overshadowed by the Cantata BWV 69 of the same name, a piece which Bach reworked to celebrate the inauguration of Leipzig Town Council in 1748. On that occasion Bach re-used the parts from 1723 for simplicity, and adapted them for the new use by means of cuts, alterations, and additions - something which certainly did not mean that he rejected the 1723 version. This version can readily be recovered from the parts of 1723, if we explore beyond the alterations of 1748. With its rich wind instruments and great opening chorus, the 1723 cantata is in no way inferior to the later festive music in terms of musical splendor. The text takes the Gospel reading about the healing of the deaf and dumb man as a reason for praise and thanks for God's good deeds. In contrast to the later version, in which God is thanked for the wisdom of the Leipzig authorities, the original version of 1723 is free of such contemporary references, and is suitable for use in worship and concerts in many different ways.
