The Missa pastoralis bohemica (Bohemian Shepherds' Mass), composed in 1796 by Mozart's contemporary Jakub Jan Ryba, is the most significant of the so-called Czech Christmas Masses. These are masses in a folkloristic style, in which the individual movements consist of a series of vocal-instrumental scenes in the Czech language; their topic is the birth of Christ and they are performed during the Christmas service. The story is about four Czech shepherds to whom the birth of Christ is announced, whereupon they visit the child in the manger. Ryba's mass became so famous that it is regarded - even today - as a symbol of Czech Christmas. The present critical edition represents the first edition of the work in its original form and the original keys; it contains a singable alternate text in German. Soloists, Choir, Orchestra SKU: BA.BA08862-90 Pastorale héroïque in one act. Composed by Jean-Philippe Rameau. Edited by rik Kocevar. Arranged by François Saint-Yves. This edition: urtext edition. Paperback. Vocal Score. Duration 3 hours. Baerenreiter Verlag #BA08862_90. Published by Baerenreiter Verlag (BA.BA08862-90). ISBN 9790006558223. 27 x 19 cm inches. Text Language: French. Preface: Kocevar, rik. Text: Charles Colle. The heroic pastoral Daphnis et Egle was performed only once, on 29 October 1753, for the entertainment of King Louis XV at Fontainebleau and remained unpublished until today.
This edition is based on Rameau's autograph manuscript, a copy of the separate parts, and the libretto published by Ballard in 1753. A comparison of the sources reveals two versions of the work: the original version and the one revised for Fontainebleau, whereby the differences lie mainly in the final divertissement. This edition recommends the Fontainebleau version--which is actually more complete in its musical form, in particular with its overture and two ariettas--but also reconstructs the original state of the final divertissement (presented in the appendix) before it was revised.

SATB vocal soli, SATB choir, orchestra SKU: CA.3116219 Cantata for the 20th Sunday after Trinity. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Frauke Heinze. Arranged by Masaaki Suzuki. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. Complete orchestral parts. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas, Whitsun, Mourning, death. Set of Orchestra Parts. Composed 1716. BWV 162. Duration 18 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.162/19. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3116219). ISBN 9790007172244. Language: German/English. Scripture: Matthew 22:1-14. The cantata for the 20th Sunday after Trinity. Ah! I see now, as I to the wedding bidden, BWV 162 was first performed on 25 October 1716 in the Castle church at Weimar. During the first year in his position as Thomaskantor, Bach made a revival performance of the cantata on 10 October 1723. For this Leipzig version he added an additional obbligato voice in the first movement and in the final chorale he added a Corno da tirarsi, which played colla-parte with the soprano. However, we do not know what this mysterious instrument looked like. For performances today we recommend using a trumpet or a slide trumpet. The cantata begins not with an introductory chorus, but rather with a sonorous bass aria with a string accompaniment and obbligato trumpet. The following movements, movement 2 through 5, are also performed by vocal soloists. The third movement, a soprano aria, presents a peculiarity: the obbligato wind parts were not contained in the original version of this cantata. Our edition offers a reconstruction for the flute, made by the famous Bach interpreter and expert, Masaaki Suzuki. Score and parts available separately - see item CA.3116200. $142.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks | | |

Soloists, Mixed choir (SATB), Orchestra (Soprano solo, Alto solo, Tenor solo, Bass solo, Mixed choir (SATB), Flute, Oboes (2), Trumpets (2), Timpani, Violins (2), Viola, Basso continuo) SKU: BA.BA10722 Ode to St Cecilia. Composed by George Frideric Handel. Edited by Stephan Blaut. This edition: urtext edition. Paperback. Score. HWV 76. Baerenreiter Verlag #BA10722_00. Published by Baerenreiter Verlag (BA.BA10722). ISBN 9790006567713. 31 x 24.3 cm inches. Text Language: English. Following upon “Alexander’s Feast†(1736), in 1739 Handel produced a second setting of the “Ode to St Cecilia†(“Song for St Cecilia’s Dayâ€). At its première it was combined with “Alexander’s Feastâ€. Rather than a dramatic plot presentable in the theatre, the Ode, in its seven sections, offers a general hymn of praise to music and its impact. Accordingly, it largely consists of emotion-laden arias and festive orchestration.
This edition, based on the Urtext from the “Halle Handel Editionâ€, offers the version heard at the first performance – the version preferred in today’s concert life. The foreword (Ger/Eng) provides many detailed notes on performance practice with regard to orchestration.
