‘Bella Ciao’ originated as an Italian folk song, stemming all the way from the late 19th century. Many versions have since appeared over the years, but the song now has a new lease of life owing to a new dance adaption as well as its feature as the theme for the Netflix series La Casa de Papel, which has inspired Anthony Gröger to create this dynamic arrangement for string quartet.‘Bella Ciao’ is van oorsprong een aansprekend Italiaans volksliedje uit het einde van de 19e eeuw waar in de loop der tijd vele versies van zijn gemaakt. Nu heeft het nieuw leven ingeblazen gekregen in een dancevariant én als themasong bij de Netflixserie La Casa de Papel. Naar aanleiding daarvan creëerde Anthony Gröger dit levendige arrangement voor strijkkwartet. Bella Ciao ist ursprünglich ein italienisches Volkslied aus dem späten 19. Jahrhundert. Im Laufe der Jahrzehnte sind zahlreiche Versionen erschienen; in jüngster Zeit ist das Lied durch eine neue Tanzadaption und die Verwendung als Thema für die Netflix-Serie La casa de papel (Haus des Geldes“) wieder aufgelebt.
