SB vocal soli, oboe d'amore, 2 violins, viola, cello (piccolo), basso continuo, organ obligato SKU: CA.3104949 Cantata for the 20th Sunday after Trinity. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Felix Loy. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. German title: Ich geh und suche mit Verlangen. Sacred vocal music. Single Part, Organ. Composed 1726. BWV 49. 28 pages. Duration 29 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.049/49. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3104949). ISBN 9790007206239. Language: German/English. The beginning of Cantata no. 49 (I go and search for thee with yearning) may also be the most well-known part of this work: in the introductory sinfonia for organ and orchestra Bach refers back to the final movement of a lost concerto with concertante melody instrument which he later reworked into the Harpsichord Concerto in E major BWV 1053. The cantata, conceived as a composition in dialogue between the faithful soul (soprano) and Jesus (bass), is characterized by the expressiveness of the love poetry from the biblical Song of Songs, which finds its lyrical expression especially in the virtuosity and charm of its instrumentation - a masterpiece in the Bachian art of characterization. (Alfred Durr). Score and part available separately - see item CA.3104900. $29.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Edited by Hans Grischkat, Uwe Wolf. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. German title: Wir danken dir, Gott, wir danken dir. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas, Praise and thanks. Choral Score. Composed 1731. BWV 29. 8 pages. Duration 28 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.029/05. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3102905). ISBN 9790007042394. Key: D major. Language: German/English. Bach's cantata Wir danken dir, Gott, wir danken dir of 1731, composed for the inauguration of the Leipzig town council, is one of the cantatas which has an obbligato organ part. In the introductory Sinfonia (an arrangement of the opening movement of the Partita in E for solo violin) and the final aria, the organ has a prominent solo part. The final aria is a transposed repetition of the first aria in the cantata, which frames its central section as a motto Halleluja, Stark und Macht sei dem allerhochsten Namen. However, the high point of the cantata is the magnificent choral movement which precedes the first Halleluja. Bach also re-used this music later in the Gratias and Dona nobis pacem sections of the Mass in B minor. New revised edition. Carus Verlag #CV 31.188/49. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3118849). ISBN 9790007210090. Language: German/English. The cantata Ich habe meine Zuversicht BWV 188 comes from the so-called Picander cycle and was written for the 21st Sunday after Trinity in 1728 or 1729. There are some particular problems associated with its transmission. The original set of parts was lost, and the manuscript score only survives in fragmentary form. Probably as early as the 18th century the score was divided up into numerous separate parts in order to make more money, or to be able to provide as many Bach relics as possible for posterity. The first movement, an instrumental sinfonia, is missing apart from the final bars. We simply know that this sinfonia is based on the 3rd movement of the Harpsichord Concerto BWV 1052 in D minor and that instead of the harpsichord, an obbligato organ was envisaged. Its successful reconstruction by the baroque specialist and organist Pieter Dirksen now makes it possible to perform the cantata again complete with the introductory sinfonia. Soli SATB, SATB Choir, 2 Ob, Tl (Eh), 2 Vl, Va, Vc, organ obl, Bc SKU: CA.3118848 Cantata for the 21st Sunday after Trinity. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Pieter Dirksen. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. Harpsichord. Sacred vocal music, End of the church year, Trinity. Single Part, Cembalo. Composed 1728. BWV 188. 20 pages. Duration 25 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.188/48. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3118848). ISBN 9790007210083. ATB vocal soli, SATB choir, 2 oboes, 2 horns, Taille (english horn), 3 soli violins + viola + cello, 2 violins, viola, basso continuo SKU: CA.3117449 Cantata for the 2nd day of Pentecost. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Karin Wollschlager. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. Organ. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas, Whitsun, Praise and thanks. Single Part, Organ. Composed 1729. BWV 174. 16 pages. Duration 23 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.174/49. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3117449). ISBN 9790007209711. Language: German/English. Text: Henrici (Picander), Christian Friedrich. The cantata Ich liebe den Hochsten von ganzem Gemute (I love the Almighty with all of my spirit) BWV 174 was composed for Whit Monday 1729. It probably belongs to Bach's fourth cycle of cantatas, known as the Picander cycle. Most of the cantata is taken up by the introductory Sinfonia. This is a reworking of the first movement of the famous third Brandenburg Concerto BWV 1048. Bach took the movement almost unaltered and simply added wind parts to strengthen the sound to the nine string parts (three violins, three violas, three violoncelli) and basso continuo - two corni da caccia and two oboes, reinforced by two violins, an oboe da caccia (taille) and a viola. The following movements (aria, recitative, aria) form a distinct contrast with their chamber music scoring (two oboes or one or two string parts with basso continuo). A simple four-part chorale concludes the cantata. Score and part available separately - see item CA.3117400. $21.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
