SATB vocal soli, SATB choir, oboe I/oboe d'amore, oboe II, trumpet, 2 violins, viola, basso continuo - Level 3 SKU: CA.3107611 Cantata for the 2nd Sunday afer Trinity / Reformation Day. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Ulrich Leisinger. Arranged by Paul Horn. German title: Die Himmel erzahlen die Ehre Gottes. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas, Psalms, German. Single Part, Violin 1. Composed 1723. BWV 76. 12 pages. Duration 35 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.076/11. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3107611). ISBN 9790007044947. Key: C major / a minor. Language: German/English. The cantata Die Himmel erzahlen die Ehre Gottes (The heavens are telling of God in glory) BWV 76 by Johann Sebastian Bach was written for the 2nd Sunday after Trinity, which fell on 6 June 1723 in the year it was first performed. This ambitious two-part work was the second cantata which Bach wrote after taking up the position of Kantor of St. Thomas's in Leipzig. Bach's aim was evidently to demonstrate a particularly wide range of musical forms in both the arias and the recitatives in this cantata. The opening chorus is based on verses 2 and 4 of Psalm 19, with verse 4 structured as a choral fugue. Both parts of the cantata end with a chorale movement with different verses from the Lutheran hymn Es woll uns Gott genadig sein. The text refers loosely to the epistle reading from the 1st letter of St John, but deals more with general thoughts about the temptations of the Christian which can be overcome through love. Bach also performed the first part of the cantata later with minor revisions, but evidently no alterations to the text, on Reformation Day in Leipzig. Score and part available separately - see item CA.3107600. $7.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Piano SKU: C4.9790902257176 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Daniel Mitterdorfer and Harold Fabrikant. Arranged by Eugen d'Albert. Classical. Score. Crescendo Music Publications #9790902257176. Published by Crescendo Music Publications (C4.9790902257176). ISBN 9790902257176. 8.27 x 11.7 inches. Eugen d'Albert (1864-1932) enjoyed an illustrious and colourful career as both concert pianist and composer. He wished to include J.S. Bach's music in his concerts and sought the grandeur of some of the large secular organ works. The transcriptions he made for this purpose are arguably better than the numerous Bach transcriptions made by his contemporaries. D'Albert's versions of eight secular masterworks present them remarkably close to their original form, yet perfectly matched to the modern piano. At times, they make very considerable technical demands, but the effort to master them is amply rewarded.
This 116-page volume marks their first appearance since they were first issued over a century ago. Many errors and inaccuracies have been remedied and English translations of his musical terms have been provided. $37.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 4 to 6 weeks

Violin 1 SKU: BR.OB-5293-15 Book 1. Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Edited by Johann Nepomuk David. Stapled. Orchester-Bibliothek (Orchestral Library). The Six Three-Part Preludes and Fugues are regarded as a unique testimony to Mozart's profound interest in the works of Bach. Classical period. Part. KV 404a, Nos. 1-3. 12 pages. Breitkopf and Haertel #OB 5293-15. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.OB-5293-15). ISBN 9790004337981. 9 x 12 inches. I am presently collecting the fugues of Bach - not only of sebastian, but also of Emanuel and friedeman, wrote Mozart to his father in April 1782. This could be a hint that the Six Three-Part Preludes and Fugues were derived from this collection: Mozart wrote string-trio arrangements of two preludes and five fugues by Johann Sebastian Bach, and of one fugue by Wilhelm Friedemann Bach. This apparently plunged him into such a creative mood that he simply wrote the missing preludes himself. It is to Johann Nepomuk David that we owe the first edition of this work, which introduced this unique document to a broad public for the first time. The present edition has retained David's basic editorial decision to adapt the divergent passages of Mozart's arrangement to Bach's original music text.Contents:No. 1 - Adagio by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Fuga Mozart's arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach, Das Wohltemperirte Clavier I, Fuga 8 in D# minor BWV 853No. 2 - Adagio by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Fuga Mozart's arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach, Das Wohltemperirte Clavier II, Fuga 14 in F# minor BWV 883No. 3 - Adagio by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Fuga Mozart's arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach, Das Wohltemperirte Clavier II, Fuga 13 in F# major BWV 882. $8.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks
