This delightful piece is infectious in its rhythmic vitality and invention. The work opens with a straightforward exposition of the melody, followed by a more contemplative development. The piece returns to the music of the opening and concludes with the melody set to alternating chords in a brilliant toccata-type flourish. The opportunity for colorful registration is abundant here and the writing for hands and feet is exquisite. This is suitable as a postlude or for a festival occasion.
