Piano Trio SKU: BR.KM-2225 Composed by Gerhard Muller-Hornbach. Chamber m...(+)
Piano Trio SKU: BR.KM-2225 Composed by Gerhard Muller-Hornbach. Chamber music; Softcover. Kammermusik-Bibliothek (Chamber Music Library). World premiere Frankfurt, 1978. Music post-1945. Score and parts. Composed 1978. 86 pages. Duration 15'. Breitkopf and Haertel #KM 2225. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.KM-2225). ISBN 9790004501313. 9 x 12 inches. (Gerhard Muller-Hornbach)

String Quartet (2vl,va,vc) SKU: BR.PB-5622-07 Urtext. Composed by Joachim Raff. Edited by Severin Kolb and Stefan Konig. Chamber music; Softbound. Partitur-Bibliothek (Score Library). With his first String Quartet in D minor, op. 77, composed in 1855, the native Swiss composer Joachim Raff (1822-1882) bid a brilliant farewell to Weimar. Romantic period. Study Score. 176 pages. Breitkopf and Haertel #PB 5622-07. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.PB-5622-07). ISBN 9790004215197. 6.5 x 9 inches. With his first String Quartet in D minor, op. 77, composed in 1855, the native Swiss composer Joachim Raff bid a brilliant farewell to Weimar. He had been there as Franz Liszt's assistant since 1850 and had made a name for himself in the city's art scene - now he embarked on new paths. He composed his second Quartet in A major, op. 90, already in 1857 in Wiesbaden, the spa town that was to become his home for 21 years. The two quartets are unequivocal works: orchestrally-conceived, full of energetic vigor, and at times uncompromisingly modern. They confidently continue the Beethoven tradition and attest at the same time to Raff's intensive confrontation with Richard Wagner's music during the Weimar years. In his chamber music, the composer wanted to achieve progress in an inherently historical way and to ground the individual substance in existing forms, as he told the Viennese violinist Josef Hellmesberger, who launched opus 77. The quartets, first published in 1860/62, found illustrious interpreters, among them, the Muller brothers' renowned ensemble, to which opus 90 was also dedicated, and Joseph Joachim. In collaboration with the Joachim-Raff-Archiv Lachen (CH)
Some eighteen years elapsed between Raff's first counted String Quartet op. 77 and his Quartets Nos. 6-8 op. 192, combined as one work. As such, Raff parted with the weighty single opus in quartet composition - without, however, sacrificing musical quality. $55.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks

Voice, Bass Clarinet in B-flat, Piano Bass Clarinet; Piano Accompaniment; Voice (Performance Score) SKU: HL.48025037 Performance Score Voice, Bass Clarinet, and Piano. Composed by Iris ter Schiphorst. Boosey & Hawkes Chamber Music. Classical. Softcover. 128 pages. Duration 1200 seconds. Bote & Bock #M202536025. Published by Bote & Bock (HL.48025037). UPC: 196288020936. Iris ter Schiphorst understands her piece as an homage to the writer Inge Muller (1925 - 1966), whose poems were included in this work, and as a 'scientific-artistic examination of the intellectual climate of her life', especially of the Nazi era as well as her reception in the 1960s by Hannah Arendt, among others. The idea of abandoning the Lied as a constitutive unity of text and music andworking with different text genres (including so-called folk songs) opened up the possibility for the composer to think theatricallyand to be able to create narrative, sometimes 'scenic' connections between the elements: Sometimes the music comments on the text, sometimes it contradicts or questions it, and vice versa. Most of the texts are spoken, singing is almost exclusively done on vocalises. The composition is explicitly written for a female solo singer, and the musicians accompanying her should ideally be male. 'The sung parts are designed like a commentary ... The performer/singer must be trained in theatrical bodywork and has to assimilate and embody the texts.'. $114.00 - See more - Buy online
