| Four Seasons Flute Trio: 3 flutes - Intermediate De Haske Publications
3 Flutes - intermediate SKU: BT.DHP-1135495-070 For Flute Trio. Co...(+)
3 Flutes - intermediate SKU: BT.DHP-1135495-070 For Flute Trio. Composed by Mario Valsania. De Haske Flute Series. Set (Score and Parts). Composed 2013. De Haske Publications #DHP 1135495-070. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1135495-070). 9x12 inches. International. This work for flute trio is in no way connected to the famous work of the same name by Antonio Vivaldi. In his Four Seasons, Mario Valsania sees the changing seasons from a child's point of view: Spring, out in the fresh air on abike ride, the unhurried Summer, Autumn and the new school year, and finally Winter, with its Christmas celebrations... This is a composition in a classical style but with advanced, non-traditional harmonies. The composer's aim was to bring out the full richness of the flute's range and character - such as staccato and double-tonguing. InWinter, various traditional Christmas carols can be heard.
$22.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
| Venti Pezzi per Pianoforte Piano solo [Score] Suvini Zerboni
Piano SKU: BT.ESZ-01494800 Composed by Sandor Veress. Score Only. Edizion...(+)
Piano SKU: BT.ESZ-01494800 Composed by Sandor Veress. Score Only. Edizioni Suvini Zerboni #ESZ 01494800. Published by Edizioni Suvini Zerboni (BT.ESZ-01494800). With his Venti pezzi per pianoforte (1938), the Hungarian composer Sándor Veress (1907-92) wanted to create a collection of piano miniatures on folk melodies destined for use in the concert hall as well as for teaching purposes. Each piece is based on one or more songs and dances from different Hungarian speaking areas, which are re-elaborated and presented in a carefully conceived alternation of character, musical writing and technical difficulty. The result is a multi-colored overview of Hungarian folk music: songs of a pathetic or even dramatic nature are contrasted with lighter and high-spirited pieces, interspersed with dances of varying types, among which a homogeneousblock stands out formed by the group of Csárdás, a typical tavern dance also used by Liszt. The Venti pezzi per pianoforte represent the culmination of the extensive ethnomusicological research made by Veress in the ’30s and ‘40s, while working as assistant to László Lajtha and to Béla Bartók, and at the same time carrying out field work in Hungary and neighboring countries. The composer intended that this collection should play a fundamental role of mediation between folklore and western “art†music, by revitalizing the language from within, without resorting to the abstractions of the experimentation being developed in Europe at the time. During his lifetime Veress never succeeded in publishing the complete version of the Venti pezzi per pianoforte, but issued various selections of the pieces, two of which remained totally unpublished. The present critical edition prepared by Giada Viviani reconstructs the complete text of the Venti pezzi per pianoforte on the basis of manuscript sources kept at the Paul Sacher Foundation in Basel: the musical scores, with fingering by Jakub Tchorzewski, are accompanied by an introductory essay on the context in which the collection was created, including a description of the state of the sources and a detailed apparatus criticus of the textual variants.
$31.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Violin and orchestra SKU: BO.B.3340 Composed by Jordi Cervello. Instrumental Sets. Duration 29:00. Published by Editorial de Musica Boileau (BO.B.3340). ISBN 9788480207591. English comments: My dedication to the string instruments has been a constant throughout my compositional career and I knew that sooner or later the time would come to compose a concerto for violin and orchestra. That moment came in the autumn of 2002 and after ten months of uninterrupted work I finished it in August of 2003. It is a work structured similarly to the traditional concertos. An important impetus for the elaboration of my concerto was due to the ill-fated violinist Ginette Neveu. Her version of Sibelius' Concerto has always stayed with me. For this reason the first movement, Moderato-Allegro, begins with a contemplative atmosphere similar to that of Sibelius' Concerto in which the principal thematic ideas appear tentatively. These ideas, two rhythmic and two melodic, are reaffirmed through a broad development that culminates in an orchestral fullness. A calm, mysterious passage recalls the introduction and after becoming blurred, three bars burst in leading to the rapid section of the movement. Soloist and orchestra engage in a dialectic struggle of a dramatic nature. The agitation subsides leaving only a tranquil and suggestive clarinet phrase. This will be taken up by the soloist who leads up to the movement's most dramatic moment playing an accelerating triplet figure supported by an orchestral pedal in crescendo. From here the soloist's cadenza emerges beginning with soft double notes. It finishes with an ascending progression and the soloist settles into the high register to elicit the orchestra's intervention in a soft and transfigured atmosphere. Once internalised the second movement, Adagio poco sostenuto e leggero begins. It has a solemn character and opens with two trumpet calls answered by the violoncellos and the contrabasses. The violin soloist introduces and plays two nostalgic themes, the first in the low register and the second, more extensive, in the middle register. The soft and delicate Misterioso e leggero begins with the violin singing on high. The rhythm of the constant quaver figures gradually accelerates until the soloist provokes a dramatic full orchestra as in a cadenza. Once again, the Calmo, in which the soloist with less and less orchestral attire serenely bids farewell. A rising series of double stops by the soloist serves to initiate the Finale-Scherzo. In 6/8 rhythm and with the character of a rondo it carries us along in a carefree, virtuosic ambiance. The principal motives, brief and concise, emerge from the happy, playful theme presented by the soloist. With an intricate progression of rapid sixths in double stops it reaches a tense and somewhat combative moment. However this resolves itself in a diminuendo that the soloist peacefully takes up with the notes re-la to commence the cadenza. This culminates in a series of tied notes to reintroduce the principal theme. A moment of melodic suspension serves as a farewell before the brief and jovial final coda. --The author
Published by Anglo Music Press (HL.44012345). UPC: 888680058692. English-German-French-Dutch. Spirit of Endeavour is a virtuosic piece of music with a positive musical message. It tells the story of a wind band embracing hard work, friendship, musical excellence, love, marriage and birth, as well as the sad loss of cherished members. Composer Philip Sparke decided to salute the history of the Canadian concert band 'Harmonie de Charlesbourg' with a work that falls into two contrasted sections. One Vision deals with forming the band and the subsequent united desire to create an ensemble espousing the idea of musical perfection. The Pursuit of Excellence salutes the 20 years of hard work of the wind band. This concert work ends with a chorale of thefull band, symbolising the fulfilment of a united dream!

Wer nur den lieben Gott lässt walten was composed by Georg Neumark in about 1641 and was subtitled ‘Trostlied’ literally meaning consolation song. Songbooks at the time showed the popularity of this song and it is still well-known today partly due to Johann Sebastian Bach’s use of the melody for one of his own chorals. In Jan de Haan’s arrangement the choral is heard twice, once, alternating with the original motif from the introduction and a second time, without interruption, reflecting the composer’s original intention - a song of consolation.
$110.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

| Fare musica insieme N. 1. Musica per strumentario Orff Ut Orpheus
Methods and Music for Children SKU: UT.DM-31 Composed by Gabrielangela Sp...(+)
Methods and Music for Children SKU: UT.DM-31 Composed by Gabrielangela Spaggiari. Saddle stitching. Fare Musica. Classical. Ut Orpheus #DM 31. Published by Ut Orpheus (UT.DM-31). ISBN 9790215305694. 9 x 12 inches. $21.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks

Coro, Voces y Piano (Choir, Solo Voices, and Piano) SKU: BO.B.3473 A la memoria de Salvador Espriu. Composed by Xavier Benguerel. Vocal Music. Piano reduction. Choir. Duration 85:00. Published by Editorial de Musica Boileau (BO.B.3473). ISBN 9788480208147. English comments: The Requiem in memory of Salvador Espriu by Xavier Benguerel was commissioned by the Torroella de Montgri International Music Festival for a double commemoration: on the one hand, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Festival, and on the other, in remembrance of Catalan poet Salvador Espriu in the fifth year after his death. This concert, which was held on 5 October, was a brilliant closing gala performance and it was repeated twice on 6 and 7 October at the Palau de la Musica Catalana in Barcelona. It was performed by the Orchestra and Choir of the Gran Teatro del Liceo, with soloists Enriqueta Tarres, soprano; Nelibel Martinez, mezzo soprano; Eduard Gimenez, tenor; and Carlos Chausson, baritone, with the additional collaboration of baritone Lluis Llach, conducted by Romano Gandolfi. In my opinion, this work by Benguerel is a piece that was written with passion and sincerity, with great strength and depth, and it contains some very beautiful passages. It is written in a language through which, without abandoning his current musical thoughts, Benguerel manages to communicate with the audience in a dense work that lasts for an hour and a half. It is interspersed with seven poems by Espriu on the subject of death, some sung and others recited, which gives the Requiem great contrasts from a musical and linguistic point of view -in comparison with the Latin texts normally used in a requiem mass-, but within a successful and coherent unity. The performers certainly proved their worth, but much of the hard work that went into preparing the piece can be attributed not only to the performers, the composer and the poet in tribute to whom the work was written, but also to the conductor Romano Gandolfi, who is largely responsible for the success of the three performances of this Requiem. Benguerel himself says of the work: This Requiem is linked to my previous work, the Llibre Vermell, and it has been written without making any concessions, but with a true wish to communicate with the audience. I've got past the stage of musical experiments and I'm now working on bridging the gap between composer and audience, which I'm sure will be good for both.

Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1094676-030). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch.
$78.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

$98.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

| Incontri, esperienze e idee sul canto. Quasi un’autobiografia tecnico-vocale Ut Orpheus
Books and Journals; Voice SKU: UT.LB-15 Composed by Antonio Juvarra. Pape...(+)
Books and Journals; Voice SKU: UT.LB-15 Composed by Antonio Juvarra. Paperback (Soft Cover). Studies and Texts. Classical. Books and Journals. 148 pages. Ut Orpheus #LB 15. Published by Ut Orpheus (UT.LB-15). ISBN 9788881094813. 5.90 x 8.46 inches. $28.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks

Concert Band/Harmonie - Grade 3 SKU: BT.DHP-1063950-010 Composed by Satoshi Yagisawa. Brilliant Marches. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 2006. De Haske Publications #DHP 1063950-010. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1063950-010). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. This work was commissioned by the All Japan Band Association (Chiba Prefecture) to commemorate their 45th anniversary. The composer, Satoshi Yagisawa, was requested to write a march that was easy enough for junior high school students to play, and was based on the folk songs in Chiba Prefecture. After several months of research the composer finally discovered Boushu Oiwake, a lyrical folk song sung with the Japanese bamboo flute and shamisen (three-stringed Japanese instrument). After the composition process has been completed we have here a fantastic triumphant march sure to ?raise the roof? at any performance.
$125.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
| Historia Musica. Prima e seconda parte della teorica Ut Orpheus
Books and Journals SKU: UT.LB-8 Composed by Giovanni Andrea Angelini Bont...(+)
Books and Journals SKU: UT.LB-8 Composed by Giovanni Andrea Angelini Bontempi. Edited by Biancamaria Brumana. Paperback (Soft Cover). Classical. Books and Journals. Ut Orpheus #LB 8. Published by Ut Orpheus (UT.LB-8). ISBN 9788881094660. 6.5 x 9.5 inches. Ha pubblicato numerosi volumi e articoli editi in sedi specializzate in Italia e all’estero. $46.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks

| Intavolatura de Cimbalo (Napoli 1576) Harpsichord Ut Orpheus

Harpsichord; Early Music SKU: UT.HS-307 Composed by Antonio Valente. Edited by Maria Luisa Baldassari. Paperback (Soft Cover). Classical. Ut Orpheus #HS 307. Published by Ut Orpheus (UT.HS-307). ISBN 9790215327146. 9 x 12 inches. Antonio Valente blind, Neapolitan since a long time according to the list of Neapolitan musicians by Scipione Cerreto and organist in S. Angelo a Nilo in Naples, is known in modern times for his two volumes of keyboard music: Versi spirituali published in 1580 and, some years before, the volume here in transcription, Intavolatura de cimbalo, printed by Giuseppe Cacchio in 1576. This volume has many original features: first keyboard tablature ever printed in Naples, itâ??s not written in musical characters but in a number-based system never met, according to the current studies, in any other print or manuscript both in and outside Italy. The dedication letter, written by Fraâ?? Alberto Mazza, praises Valente as the inventor of this writing method, so easy and effective that everybody, even uncouth youths that did not know music and keyboard, could attain the result of playing from it in two months. The Intavolatura presents different genres of music: a fantasia, six ricercatas, a Salve Regina on a cantus firmus, four vocal chansons intabulated for keyboard with more or less diminutions, and nine dances, variations and dance/variations on long-living tenors like Romanesca or Zefiro. There are no liturgical compositions, both because unsuitable in a collection for amateurs and because Valente will publish a new book of sacred music in a few years. The book is a sort of compendium of the keyboard genres of the period, similar to some older Spanish publications and to the later Neapolitan ones by Trabaci and Majone. Other contemporary volumes on the contrary choose to present a single type of composition: this is the case of the Versetti by Valente and the Ricercate by Rocco Rodio. $36.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks

$34.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks
