Fantasy for Marimba was commissioned by the outstanding Japanese marimba player, Fumito Nunoya. Although it is written in concerto style, the piano not only accompanies the solo marimba but also plays an important part in the development of the work. The piece is written in four movements, played without a break: Allegro, Andante misterioso, Tempo rubato and Allegro energico. Also available for Marimbaphone and Piano. In Fantasy for Marimba neemt de marimbafoon als solo-instrument een centrale plaats in, maar ook de piano speelt een belangrijke rol. Het werk bestaat uit vier samenhangende delen: een Allegro, een Andante misterioso, een Tempo rubato en tot slot als hartstochtelijke finale een Allegro energico. Ook verkrijgbaar voor marimba en piano. In Fantasy for Marimba wird das Marimbaphon als Soloinstrument gewürdigt, aber auch das Blasorchester spielt eine wichtige Rolle. The Fantasy Pieces op. 88 are Schumann's first contribution to the genre of the piano trio and date from his very prolific “chamber music year†1842. However, Schumann needed an unusually long time to give the work its final form: the Fantasy Pieces were released only in the autumn of 1850 after several revisions. The brevity and the modest technical demands of the four charming character pieces make them an ideal entry into the world of Schumann's chamber music also for non-professional musicians. The Fantasy Pieces, taken from the volume Schumann • Piano Trios HN 916, are now available from Henle for the first time also as a practical single edition.

Free World Fantasy was commissioned in Holland for celebrations commemorating the liberation of Groningen, and therefore symbolises the dream of a world without war. It is the first piece of a series in which composer, Jacob de Haan, combines concert band music with a pop style. A Discovery Fantasy is gebaseerd op de herkenningsmelodie van de televisieserie â??Op zoek naar muziekâ?. Dit programma, dat tussen 1986 en 1988 op de Nederlandse televisie te zien was, werd o.a. door de componist Jan de Haan samengesteld.Het nam de toeschouwer mee naar een bepaalde plaats of streek, om ze kennis te laten maken met de meest verschillende vormen van muziekbeoefening. Bij het schrijven van A Discovery Fantasy had de componist dit succesvolle televisieprogrammavoor ogen. De herkenningsmelodie wordt gevolgd door drie los van elkaar staande delen - een bolero, een rondo en een romantisch intermezzo - en net als bij een televisieprogramma eindigt het werk met een eindtun.Jan de Haans abwechslungsreiche Komposition A Discovery Fantasy basiert auf der Erkennungsmelodie einer Musiksendung und enthält einen Bolero, ein Rondeau und ein romantisches Intermezzo. Cette composition colorée est basée sur lâ??indicatif de lâ??émission la recherche de la musique, diffusée par la télévision nationale néerlandaise, entre 1986 et 1988, et élaborée par Jan de Haan. Lâ??objectif de lâ??émission était de faire découvrir aux téléspectateurs la grande diversité de la pratique musicale aux Pays-Bas. Sâ??inspirant de ce programme couronné de succès, Jan de Haan a rassemblé dans cette pièce en cinq volets (thème - boléro - rondo - intermezzo - thème), quelques-uns des plus grands moments musicaux.

As an inexhaustible proponent of Beethoven's life and work, Franz Liszt (1811-1886) produced a number of arrangements and transcriptions in homage to the great composer. His FANTASIE ÜBER MOTIVEN AUS BEETHOVENS RUINEN VON ATHEN, S. 122 (FANTASY ON BEETHOVEN'S RUINS OF ATHENS) for piano and orchestra is one of three existing versions, all of which he dedicated to Nikolay Rubinstein. The work on which the piece is based, incidental music for a play by August von Kotzebue, was written in 1811 in Pest, Hungary for the dedication of a new theater.
