Concert Band/Harmonie - Grade 4 SKU: BT.AMP-339-140 Concertante Variat...(+)
Concert Band/Harmonie - Grade 4 SKU: BT.AMP-339-140 Concertante Variations on an Original Theme (after Gabriel Fauré). Composed by Philip Sparke. Anglo Music Midway Series. Concert Piece. Score Only. Composed 2012. 40 pages. Anglo Music Press #AMP 339-140. Published by Anglo Music Press (BT.AMP-339-140). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. Moving Heaven and Earth was commissioned by the Clark County School District Commissioning Project, Las Vegas, NV, USA and is dedicated to Bunny Wasserman and her Make Music Matter, Las Vegas foundation, in appreciation of her tireless work in support of music education. It was premiered in January 2012, conducted by Col. John R. Bourgeois. The piece consists of a theme and 4 variations; although the theme is original it contains a phrase heavily influenced by a 14-bar passage from the Libera Me in Fauré’s Requiem. It is a sequence that the composer finds harmonically compelling and, although it is never quoted directly, it appears in altered form in thetheme and each of the variations. In the original, the passage is set to the words: Quando cæli movendi sunt et terra (When the heavens and the earth shall be moved) which gave inspiration for the title. After the initial statement of the theme, Variation 1 features the upper woodwinds who play a stirring melody and accompany the Fauré reference with florid arpeggios. Variation 2 spotlights the saxophones and lower woodwind in a rhythmic, modal waltz, whilst Variation 3 is a broad chorale for the brass and percussion. Variation 4 starts with a fugue, which introduces each section of the band in turn before the original theme appears on the brass while the woodwind continue the fugal figuration.
Moving Heaven and Earth wurde vom Schulbezirksverband in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA) in Auftrag gegeben.
$52.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Concert Band - Grade 3 SKU: ML.013751080 Composed by Alexandre Carlin. Full set. Molenaar Edition #013751080. Published by Molenaar Edition (ML.013751080). Solemnity was composed when the composer came back from his first Midwest Clinic in Chicago. Inspired by all the concert bands performing there, and all the fellow composers met at this occasion, he decided to write a kind of fanfare work, leading to a fast theme on a driving rhythm. The piece begins like a fanfare with a solemn character which gives the title of the work, the brass here have a nice part to play. Then, a new theme full of energy, using the same rhythmic motive as the fanfare theme, is exposed by the high woodwinds and finally by more instruments. The central part is a slow one, where a melancolic theme is exposed by the oboe, and finally the rest of the band. After a fugato section, the energic theme is back to lead to a brilliant coda.

Nicola Fiorenza (1700?-1764), composer and virtuoso Neapolitan violinist, lived during the first half of the 1700s. His musical production, whose manuscripts are preserved for the big part in the Library of the Conservatorio di Musica S. Pietro a Majella in Naples, is composed of 15 concerts with different instrumental organics, 9 symphonies whose principal instrument is the violin – that sometimes proposes pieces with a lot of virtuosities typical of the solo concert –, some pieces for one or two instruments with continuo and two cantatas. Skilled virtuoso, Fiorenza had assimilated both the style of the elegant Baroque of French school, and the a terrazze style, the improvised language typical of the Venetian composers. He knew the style of the Concerto Grosso of Corelli very well, to which he joined a dressy counterpoint maybe too much present for the style of that time. Fiorenza elaborated different styles, filtering them through his sensitive predilection towards the Neapolitan party music and the popular melody, developing a personal composite language that doesn’t consider him belonging to one of the schools of his time. From a formal point of view and for the choice of the instrumental organic, his compositions have not a strong stylistic individuality in comparison with the composite canons of the first part of the XVIII century, but the production of Fiorenza seems to reflect the schemes and the composite forms typical of the late Baroque. His choice of the incisive brevity of the thematic figures is typical of the XVII century, that almost never overcomes the breath and the circle of one or few beats. Fiorenza’s solo compositions show his research of virtuosities, but he never lapses into a rash virtuosity, on the contrary he maintains a gallant taste. $214.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks

Quite apart from their own intrinsic value, they make great teaching material, and it is with this in mind that the composer has made this graded selection. | Concerto for Trombone with Piano reduction Trombone and Piano [Score and Parts] - Advanced Cherry Classics
Trombone and Piano - Advanced SKU: CY.CC3136 Composed by John W. Ware. Cl...(+)
Trombone and Piano - Advanced SKU: CY.CC3136 Composed by John W. Ware. Classical. Score and Parts. Cherry Classics #CC3136. Published by Cherry Classics (CY.CC3136). ISBN 9790530111055. 8.5 x 11 in inches. This fine work has sat dormant for many years and has now come to light thanks to the efforts of Charlie Vernon, Bass Trombonist of the Chicago Symphony, who performed this virtuoso work as a young performer. The concerto is in the standard three movement form: Fast, slow, fast. This publication is a reduction from the original orchestral version (to be released at some point in the future). Here is a description of the Concerto by the composer, John W. Ware. I started on the trombone concerto in my junior year studying composition at Indiana University. While working on it, I learned of an opportunity to make it sort of a thesis piece (though students didn't write a thesis in composition while an undergrad). The original version was for trombone with string orchestra, and it was performed by the IU String Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Arthur Corra, with Robert Priez, trombone, as part of my senior composition recital. I thought the performance was quite good (Priez played extraordinarily well), and the piece received a newspaper review in the Indiana Daily Student, in which the reviewer wrote that the work was almost too exciting. I thought at the time that he had given me and my music a fine compliment. I made a piano version of the accompaniment, shortening and tightening the first movement, for performances in 1966; I made a second revision in 1967 for a performance by E. J. Eaton, trombonist at the University of Tennessee at Martin, arriving at the form in which the work exists now. The first movement is in fairly normal sonata-allegro form, in the key of A minor. It alternates between assertive and more thoughtful moods. There is no introduction; the soloist enters immediately and dominates much of the movement. The main theme is--by some manipulation--a source for most of the other themes, and all of the themes are used in close proximity to each other, including contrapuntal combinations, especially near the end. Originally the movement included a lengthy fugato, now much shortened and including a stretto that builds and subsides before a cadenza leading to a coda based on both the principal and secondary themes. Key relations in this movement, as in the other two, are quite free and often chromatic, with frequent third-relations; but returns to the tonic at the end are emphatic. The writing is challenging for both soloist and accompanist; the piece is substantial, requiring technique and stamina. The second movement is in F minor and is also built on both contrast and close relationships between the main and secondary themes. The main theme is heard in the piano part before the soloist enters. The mood is more lyric than in the first movement, but with dramatic episodes also. In this movement are some definite derivations from themes in the first movement. The ending is a sort of lengthened shadow of the opening. The finale returns to A minor, with themes slightly related to polonaise rhythms, but with strong echoes of first-movement themes. Here, too, dramatic and lyric episodes alternate, with dotted rhythms frequently propelling the music forward. The introduction is a brief and simple preparation for the solo entry. Later in the movement, a very brief, slightly slower section is soon overtaken by the original tempo. Toward the end, there is a second cadenza, again leading to a swift and energetic coda. The work is about 20 minutes in length and is appropriate for advanced performers. $40.00 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

De Haske Publications #DHP 1115065-010. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1115065-010). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. In The Essence of Youth the composer gives an insight into childhood and youth — inspired by his own daughter. The opening of sparking rhythms, dynamic contrasts and changes of time signature paint a vivid picture of the unpredictability of children. The first and second movements recount the love — and also tension and the worries — in the adult-child bond, through dissonant harmonies but also pretty melodies. The fugue-like ending leads to a final splendid chorale: a picture of proud parents with their child!
$236.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Breitkopf and Haertel #OB 5293-26. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.OB-5293-26). ISBN 9790004338001. 9 x 12 inches. I am presently collecting the fugues of Bach - not only of sebastian, but also of Emanuel and friedeman, wrote Mozart to his father in April 1782. This could be a hint that the Six Three-Part Preludes and Fugues were derived from this collection: Mozart wrote string-trio arrangements of two preludes and five fugues by Johann Sebastian Bach, and of one fugue by Wilhelm Friedemann Bach. This apparently plunged him into such a creative mood that he simply wrote the missing preludes himself. It is to Johann Nepomuk David that we owe the first edition of this work, which introduced this unique document to a broad public for the first time. The present edition has retained David's basic editorial decision to adapt the divergent passages of Mozart's arrangement to Bach's original music text.Contents:No. 1 - Adagio by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Fuga Mozart's arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach, Das Wohltemperirte Clavier I, Fuga 8 in D# minor BWV 853No. 2 - Adagio by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Fuga Mozart's arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach, Das Wohltemperirte Clavier II, Fuga 14 in F# minor BWV 883No. 3 - Adagio by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Fuga Mozart's arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach, Das Wohltemperirte Clavier II, Fuga 13 in F# major BWV 882. $8.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks

Guitar - intermediate SKU: BT.SY-2953 Revidierte Neuausgabe von Michael Koch. Method. Book, CD and Audio Online. Composed 2018. 132 pages. Ricordi #SY 2953. Published by Ricordi (BT.SY-2953). German. DIE NEUE GITARRENSCHULE by Heinz Teuchert is one of the most successful methods for classical guitar in German. Since it was first published in 1983, the guitar technique has evolved in many respects so that the need of a revised edition has become more and more evident. Prof. Michael Koch has taken up this mission and now presents the revised method in two volumes: the texts, parts of the playing material, and the appearance of the books have been modernized while preserving Teuchertââ¬â¢s methodical approach and the underlying structure of the method. One of its strengths is the diversity in terms of playing techniques and musical styles not only solo playing but also fingerpicking styles, flamenco techniques, and song accompaniment are taught. The BOOK CD AUDIO ONLINE packs also feature demonstration and play-along recordings of many pieces included in the books.
Violin 1 SKU: BR.OB-5294-15 Book 2. Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Edited by Johann Nepomuk David. Stapled. Orchester-Bibliothek (Orchestral Library). The Six Three-Part Preludes and Fugues are regarded as a unique testimony to Mozart's profound interest in the works of Bach. Classical period. Part. KV 404a, Nos. 4-6. 16 pages. Breitkopf and Haertel #OB 5294-15. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.OB-5294-15). ISBN 9790004338018. 9 x 12 inches. The Six Three-Part Preludes and Fugues are regarded as a unique testimony to Mozart's profound interest in the works of Bach. Or was it a brilliant contemporary of his who arranged the two preludes and five fugues by Johann Sebastian, and one fugue by Wilhelm Friedemann for string trio and supplemented the collection with further preludes? The new editions put the music text of Johann Nepomuk David's edition of the parts to the test, especially the editor's practical arrangement, which reflected the performance style of his time. These new editions go one step further, also in a performance-practical sense. The publication of the score and (orchestral) parts also enables string orchestras to play this piece for the first time - an instrumental possibility that is perfectly legitimate, both musically and historically. It is a fascinating addition to the repertoire that one can recommend to every chamber orchestra.Contents:No. 4 Adagio Mozart's arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach, Adagio e dolce from the Sonata for Organ III BWV 527 Fuga Mozart's arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach, Contrapunctus 8 from the Art of Fugue BWV 1080No. 5 Largo Mozart's arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach, Largo from the Sonata for Organ II BWV 526 Fuga Mozart's arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach, Allegro from the Sonata for Organ II BWV 526No. 6 Adagio by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Fuga Mozart's arrangement of Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, Fuga in F minor Falk No. 31/8. $10.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks

4 Part Variable Wind Ensemble with Percussion - intermediate SKU: BT.DHP-1216326-070 Arranged by Wil van der Beek. Music Box. Folk Music. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 2021. De Haske Publications #DHP 1216326-070. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1216326-070). ISBN 9789043162067. English-German-French-Dutch. 1. Emerald Isle, in this part, the musical spotlight focuses in on the green island of Ireland and its great wealth of traditional folk music. The piece opens with the air ‘My Lodging Is on the Cold Ground’, also known under the title ‘Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Young Charms’ (bars 5-24). Next, we hear another well-known air ‘The Minstrel Boy’ (bars 29-44). Finally, the air ‘The Groves of Blarney’, possibly better known as ‘The Last Rose of Summer’ (bars 53-68) is heard. Each air is heralded by a short introduction and brought to an end by a short conclusion. 2. Old Kentucky Memories, following an introduction of 14 bars all attention is claimed by the song ‘My Old Kentucky Home’. As the piece goes on, snippets of memories emerge, fleetingly, surfacing fast, but quickly disappearing again: this is musically featured by way of small motifs and themes from other songs. These can be heard briefly, and then they disappear, musing on Old Kentucky until the introduction returns to end the piece. 3. Uppland, is a province in Sweden that had a rich folk music culture, like the whole of Sweden, that boasts many songs and dances. A notable amount of these songs and dances have been composed in minor keys, three of which feature in this part. First, we hear ‘Svensk folkvisa’(bars 1-38), followed by the famous ‘Värmlandsvisan’ (bars 39-67) and then brought to an end by ‘Vexelsang’ (bars 68-end). 4. Ratatouille, in this part, no folk songs of just one country or one province are featured. This piece is a mishmash (or ratatouille), a hotchpotch of three folk songs with no significant relation at all. In succession, we hear a song from Russia (bars 1-30), one from Japan (bars 31-58) and one from Australia (bars 59-end). The composer of the Russian song titled ‘The Nightingale’ is Alexander Alyabyev (1787 1851), but the composers of the Japanese song titled ‘Sakura’ and the Australian ‘Waltzing Matilda’ are unknown.
Het werkje opent met de air ‘My Lodging Is on the Cold Ground’, ook bekend onder de titel ‘Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Young Charms’ (maat 5-24). Daarna volgt de bekende air ‘The Minstrel Boy’ (maat 29-44). The Last Rose of Summer’ (maat 53-68). 2. Mijmeren over Old Kentucky dus... 3.
Das Stück beginnt mit der Melodie My Lodging Is on the Cold Ground“, auch bekannt unter dem Titel Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Young Charms“ (Takt 5-24). Anschließend erklingt die bekannte Melodie The Minstrel Boy“ (Takt 29-44). Schließlich ist The Groves of Blarney“, vielleicht bekannter unter dem Titel The Last Rose of Summer“ (Takt 53-68), zu hören. 2.
Elle s’ouvre avec « My Lodging Is on the Cold Ground », un air également connu sous le titre « Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Young Charms » (mesures 5-24). Vient ensuite un autre air célèbre, « The Minstrel Boy » (mesures 29-44), lui-même suivi de « The Groves of Blarney », peut être mieux connu sous le titre « The Last Rose of Summer » (mesures 53-68). 2. $36.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
