Violin, piano (solo: vl - str - bc) SKU: BR.EB-8694 Urtext. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Klaus Hofmann. Arranged by S. Kuijken and S. Petrenz. Solo instruments; stapled. Edition Breitkopf. Bach's E major concerto still presents interpretative questions that have yet to be answered. Solo concerto; Baroque. Piano reduction. 56 pages. Duration 17'. Breitkopf and Haertel #EB 8694. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.EB-8694). ISBN 9790004181829. 9 x 12 inches. With Sigiswald Kuijken, the Baroque-violin expert, another celebrated performer puts his valuable experience at the disposal of Breitkopf & Hartel and its new editions. Bach's E major concerto still presents interpretative questions that have yet to be answered. The slurring of the solo part is sometimes quite incredible in the main source. And it is even doubtful that it stems from Bach himself. All the more important are the experienced soloist's suggestions for a stylistically accurate interpretation. In his edition for violin and keyboard instrument, Klaus Hofmann goes so far as to supply three violin parts (the first from the new score, the second with markings and notes by SigiswaldKuijken and the third as a facsimile of the main source). The performer is thus thoroughly informed and able to make his own competent decisions. Siegfried Petrenz has realized the continuo part sparingly and idiomatically. $26.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks

Alto vocal soli, SATB choir, 2 oboes d'amore, Taille (english horn), 2 violins, viola, basso continuo, organ obligato SKU: CA.3116912 Cantata for the 18th Sunday after Trinity. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Ulrich Bartels. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. Violin 2. Sacred vocal music, Whitsun. Single Part, Violin 2. Composed 1726. BWV 169. 8 pages. Duration 17 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.169/12. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3116912). ISBN 9790007209339. Text language: German/English. Text: Birkmann, Christoph. Bach's cantata My God alone this heart possesses BWV 169 is from his third annual cantata cycle in Leipzig; it was first performed on 20 October 1726 for the 18th Sunday after Trinity. As recent research has shown, the text was written by the Leipzig student, Christoph Birkmann. With the exception of the final chorale, this is a cantata for solo alto with, of course, a rich orchestral scoring consisting of three oboes, obbligato organ and strings. The first purely instrumental movement can be traced back to an instrumental concerto, which has been lost, after Bach had also composed the Keyboard Concerto in E major BWV 1053. The lyrical-vocal highpoint of the cantata is the fifth movement, which is also based on the concerto and it shows off Bach's arranging artistry to the highest degree. Among the movements are an aria-like recitative vocal movement, as well as another aria with an almost virtuoso organ accompaniment. Score and part available separately - see item CA.3116900. $5.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Edited by Felix Loy. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. German title: Ich geh und suche mit Verlangen. Sacred vocal music. Single Part, Violin 1. Composed 1726. BWV 49. 8 pages. Duration 29 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.049/11. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3104911). ISBN 9790007206185. Language: German/English. The beginning of Cantata no. 49 (I go and search for thee with yearning) may also be the most well-known part of this work: in the introductory sinfonia for organ and orchestra Bach refers back to the final movement of a lost concerto with concertante melody instrument which he later reworked into the Harpsichord Concerto in E major BWV 1053. The cantata, conceived as a composition in dialogue between the faithful soul (soprano) and Jesus (bass), is characterized by the expressiveness of the love poetry from the biblical Song of Songs, which finds its lyrical expression especially in the virtuosity and charm of its instrumentation - a masterpiece in the Bachian art of characterization. (Alfred Durr). Score and part available separately - see item CA.3104900. $5.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

| Violin Concerto in A minor BWV 1041 Cello, Orchestra Breitkopf & Härtel
Violin and orchestra (solo: vl - str - bc) SKU: BR.PB-5354 Urtext....(+)
Violin and orchestra (solo: vl - str - bc) SKU: BR.PB-5354 Urtext. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Klaus Hofmann. Orchestra; stapled. Partitur-Bibliothek (Score Library). Bach's manuscript leaves several questions unanswered. Solo concerto; Baroque. Full score. 24 pages. Duration 16'. Breitkopf and Haertel #PB 5354. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.PB-5354). ISBN 9790004211533. 9 x 12 inches. When an editorial formula proves to be as compelling as in the case of the E-major Concerto BWV 1042, then its obvious that it is going to be applied again: this time to Klaus Hofmanns new Urtext edition of the A-minor Concerto. Bachs manuscript leaves several questions unanswered. The slurring, particularly in the solo part, is once again equivocal and inconsistent. Bach himself expected his performers to be creative, which is why the interpretative suggestions of Baroque expert Sigiswald Kuijken are particularly welcome. The edition for violin and keyboard instrument (with continuo ad lib.) once again contains three violin parts (the first unmarked, the second with markings and comments by Sigiswald Kuijken, the third as a facsimile). This provides well-grounded stimuli for ones own personal interpretation based on historically informed performance practice. The keyboard arrangement by Siegfried Petrenz is transparent and easy to play. A violoncello part has been added for chamber-music.

SB vocal soli, oboe d'amore, 2 violins, viola, cello (piccolo), basso continuo, organ obligato SKU: CA.3104914 Cantata for the 20th Sunday after Trinity. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Felix Loy. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. German title: Ich geh und suche mit Verlangen Vc picc. Sacred vocal music. Single Part, Cello piccol. Composed 1726. BWV 49. 2 pages. Duration 29 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.049/14. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3104914). ISBN 9790007206215.
