Orchestra String Orchestra - Grade 2-2.5 SKU: CF.YAS19F Composed by Alan Lee Silva. Carl Fischer Young String Orchestra Series. Classical. Full score. With Standard notation. 12 pages. Carl Fischer Music #YAS19F. Published by Carl Fischer Music (CF.YAS19F). ISBN 9780825854866. UPC: 798408054861. 8.5 X 11 inches. Key: D major. Summer Dance is a melodic, up-tempo piece with plenty of musical and technical challenges for every player. Musicians should strive to play it with an energetic yet legato feel.A spirited introduction features an opening melody in the violins and active repeated-note pedal patterns in the violas and low strings. An AABA form begins at m. 5 and the orchestration is immediately pared down to feature violin I and cello. It then builds again in density to the 13 section, where a quick dynamic drop allows a question-and-answer melody between the two parts to sing out.In m. 29, the melody is harmonized and a countermelody in violin I introduced. The violins take the melody soaring in octaves in m. 33, as the piece again builds to the B section and suddenly quiets. Measure 55 then provides more question-and-answer interplay, this time for viola and cello, while violin continues with its newly harmonized melody. Summer Dance finishes with a soft recurrence of the opening figure and a build toward a powerful divisi voicing on beat 3 of m. 63, right before the final chord. About Carl Fischer Young String Orchestra Series This series of Grade 2/Grade 2.5 pieces is designed for second and third year ensembles. The pieces in this series are characterized by: --Occasionally extending to third position --Keys carefully considered for appropriate difficulty --Addition of separate 2nd violin and viola parts --Viola T.C. part included --Increase in independence of parts over beginning levels $8.50 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 1 to 2 weeks

SKU: HL.147347 LOGITECH. Hal Leonard #989-000152. Published by Hal Leonard (HL.147347). UPC: 097855113825. 3.75x4.75x2.75 inches. In-ear monitors are becoming more and more ubiquitous every day and wireless hardware systems are coming down in price, opening the market to a wide range of users, some fairly sophisticated about audio and other not so knowledgeable. In the hands of a trained pro monitor mixer who understands the needs and limitations of IEM systems (and users) the need for an in-line brick wall protection limiter may not be so important. However, at any gig - at any level - stuff does happen, although hopefully less frequently as you get up the production food chain, but when a show is live, sometimes all bets are off. Examples of transient high-level audio glitches can include unexpected sound spikes that occur from microphone drops, audio feedback, incorrect volume settings, pulling the plug on a condenser mic when it's powered up and any other sound hazards that may occur during a performance. Unfortunately, when you're wearing a set of in-ears, you may be guaranteed an up-close and personal front row seat to that spike or sudden sound blast, which is anything but pleasant. And that's exactly what the Sound Guard from Ultimate Ears Pro is designed to protect from. With the UE Pro Sound Guard, artists receive protection from unexpected sound spikes that occur from microphone drops, audio feedback, incorrect volume settings and other sound hazards that may occur while performing or recording. So far, so good; but there's more going on here. Matching impedance of balanced armatures with multi-way crossovers can be complex and certain personal monitoring/mixing systems don't handle such IEM designs - from any manufacturer - very well. Beyond its protection duties, Sound Guard also functions as an audio buffer that provides variable impedance matching from the source device to your balanced armature IEM earpieces (such as the UE Pro line) for enhanced dynamic range and improved sound quality. And although Sound Guard is intended specifically for those UE Pro IEM's, it can function with any balanced armature design. Housed in a compact 2-by-2-inch plastic box that's about a half-inch thick, the Sound Guard definitely gets points for being compact. There are two 1/8-inch stereo TRS jacks (input and output) on either side of the unit, which connect in-line via an included 6-inch TRS patch cable to your IEM receiver (or hardwire personal mixer), with the output jack going to your earpieces. The Sound Guard box has a recessed on/off switch and two LED's to indicate power-on and batterycondition. $199.00 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 24 hours - In Stock

Fanfare and Jubilation is a Grade 1 work that is playable by any beginning band with any instrumentation due to extensive doubling. The mood is regal and optimistic and is non-programmatic, conveying no picturesque image or storyline. It is appropriate for any occasion. It is appropriate for any occasion.Accents are to be emphasized more than non-accented notes, but are not to be hammered hard. Stress that accented notes are to be played with the same good tone as the other notes and that pitches should not suffer from the additional emphasis. Think of the accents as more of an additional emphasis from the air column and not the tongue.Percussion accents are to played with more emphasis than non-accented notes, but shouldn’t be perceived as being much louder. Timpani is only two pitches and is optional. The piece will not suffer at all if you don’t have access to Timpani or a timpanist. Bells cover a wide range…the lower octave sections should not be played louder just because they’re low pitched, as those notes will still be appropriately heard while supporting the melody. Do not use brass mallets. Balter 10 Phenolic mallets or equivalent (such as clear Balter Lexan or white Medium Hard Poly models) are most appropriate.Think of the m. 10 accented quarter notes tied to the half notes (and similar later examples) as being akin to Horn rips in a Hollywood movie. They are to be emphasized slightly but should not be blaring. Even though they are the only things happening on counts 2 and 3, care must be given that the young players don’t get carried away and give them more emphasis than is musically desired. At m. 21, be careful that the bass line isn’t plodding or over-emphasized due to the accents. Those players should be aware of the sudden drop in volume and lack of accents at m. 25. Attention to sudden dynamic shifts will add interest to the piece and present a more musical performance. Throughout this entire section, try to get all winds to sustain a single breath through four bars until the breath marks. If they are unable to do so, please explain the concept of staggered breathing between members of their section. There may be a tendency among the players to blast out m. 57 to the end. Notes should have more power than the section from mm. 21-56, but are still to be approached musically. Explaining such concepts during their early musical development will go far in helping them develop good traits that will pay off dividends in the future. $53.00 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 1 to 2 weeks

Chamber Music Piano SKU: PR.140401150 Seven Games For Two Pianists...(+)
Chamber Music Piano SKU: PR.140401150 Seven Games For Two Pianists. Composed by Sydney F. Hodkinson. Sws. Premiered by Edith Palmer and Michael Rickman, piano, during the 2014-15 Stetson University School of Music concert season. Contemporary. Set of performance scores. With Standard notation. Composed 14-Jan. 58 pages. Duration 20 minutes. Theodore Presser Company #140-40115. Published by Theodore Presser Company (PR.140401150). UPC: 680160620975. 9 x 12 inches. After a long recovery from an accident, composer Hodkinson was asked for piano duet music for two colleagues at Stetson University. Eager to return to composing, Hodkinson produced this serenade, Brain Drops, with each of seven movements dedicated to the doctors and therapists who saw him through his ordeal. The serenade is frequently defined as instrumental 'evening music' characterized by a mixture of elements, he says. The melange exhibited herein is certainly a scrambled mixture - perhaps akin to my own somewhat addled brain at the time. For advanced performers. Brass Ensemble SKU: HL.14023608 Composed by Michael Nyman. Music Sales America. Classical. Book [Softcover]. Composed 2004. 32 pages. Chester Music #CH60866. Published by Chester Music (HL.14023608). ISBN 9780711932982. 9.0x12.0x0.128 inches. Score for this piece, which was comissioned by London Brass and first performed in 1992. Quoting composer: The piece was completed without title on 12th August 1992. A title once considered was Canons, Chorales and Waltzes, but this was dropped since there was only one canon (the opening) and only genuine waltz (apart from a passage towards the end which superimposes the canon over a waltz rhythm). The following day I read the paper that John Cage had died - the day I finished writing. For this reason, but mainly because Cage was the most revolutionary practical music thinker of the 20th century, this piece is dedicated to him. His influence on my music may be perceived under the 'very un-Cagein' surface: though stylistically there may be little in For John Cage that may have been to his taste, I hope he would at least have appreciated its diversity, its non-simultaneous multiplicity. Parts are available on hire or special order. Duration 15 minutes. $19.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
